Episode Thirty seven
Vee
This is the last thing i needed! I just can’t seem to catch a break . I feel like the universe is ganging up on me.
” Are we interrupting something? ” Chloe asks looking from me to Nick.
” What do you think? ” Nick asks raising his eyebrows.
Rita has a confused look as she watches the drama unravel.
” You want to know what I think Nick? ” Chloe asks angrily, crossing her arms over her chest. ” I think that you two are here on a date and just brought a third party so that you can act all innocent and keep on hiding your secret relationship. ”
” Why would we want to hide Chloe? Am single now and I can go out with whoever I want, ” Nick says calmly leaning on his seat.
I thought that after sometime, Chloe will get back to her senses and everything will be fine between her and Nick, but its getting worse!
Lisa has this amused smirk on her lips and seems to be enjoying the show. I can’t believe that this is the same Lisa that was once my friend! She’s clearly insane!
” Did you hear that? Lisa says to Chloe her eyes wide open. ” He just admitted that they’re are on a date! I told you they were messing around! ”
” Shut up Lisa! ” Nick say really pissed off ” Why are you still doing this, huh? I already gave you back your job! ”
So she’s back to work? Then why is she still acting bchy?!
” That doesn’t change the fact that you cheated on Chloe with Vee, ” Lisa continues.
” Stop this craziness Lisa! ” I say trying not to loose my cool. ” You’ve already ruined their relationship, what more do you want? ”
” I want to ruin your life like you did mine, ” She says with so much hatred.
” Are you kidding me?! I never did anything of that sought and you know it. All I ever did was try and help you! ”
” Help me? How is taking away the only man I’ve ever loved, helping me? ” You stole him from me you hoe! ”
” Listen up you crazy bch, if you insult vee one more time, I swear am going to wipe the floor with your ugly face! ” Rita says getting up. She’s fuming. ” You are the perfect definition of the word hoe Lisa. I mean, aren’t you the one who sleeps around with every Di¢k and Harry? ”
” Who do you think you are talking to me like that? ”
” Oh sorry, where are my manners, ” Rita says sarcastically. ” My name is Rita or if you like, you can call me Ava. Am Vees new best friend and soon to be sister in law,” She says and I give her a what the he..ll look.
Sister in law? what’s with everyone claiming that am Alex’s girlfriend today!
” Soon to be sister in law? So she trapped your brother to?” Chloe says letting out a small chuckle. ” You are really something Vee. ”
” Your brother sure is blind, ” Lisa adds.
” I hate to say it but you are right. My brother must have been blind and stupid to ever be involved with someone like you, ” Rita says eyeing Lisa from heaed to toe. ” You are nothing compared to Vee. ”
” What are you talking about? ” Lisa asks confusion written all over her face.
” Am talking about Alex, he’s my big brother,” She says leaving Lisa speechless .
” Is everything okay here, ” One of the waiter asks walking towards us.
” Yes, everything is fine. We are just old friends catching up, ” Rita says with a fake smile and the waiter leaves. ” Now where were we.”
This is really getting out of hand now.
” Rita, please stop it, “I say trying to stop her before it gets out if hand.
” No Vee,isn’t she always accusing you of being in love with Alex? It’s about time she learns the truth, am not going to let her insult you anymore!”
” But… ”
“But nothing Vee, ” she cuts in. ” Trust me, I know what am doing. ”
What she’s doing is getting me in even more trouble! I’ve been trying so hard to convince Lisa that there’s nothing between Alex and I, but now Rita has ruined everything.
” Isn’t Alex your boyfriend? ” Chloe asks Lisa who’s still tongue tied. She’s looking at Rita her eyes almost popping out.
” He was never her boyfriend,” Rita says glaring at both of them.
” Did you just say that Vee is going to be your sister in law? ” Lisa asks in disbelief.
” Yes I did. She and Alex are in love and are already living together. ”
” What?! I always knew you were after him! How could you? ” Lisa yells lifting her hands to slap me but it’s caught mid air by…… Alex!
When did he get here and, did Lisa just try to slap me?!
I stand with fury and walk towards her ready to pounce on her but Alex stops me.
We are already causing a scene at the restaurant and almost everyone is staring at us. I bet will be asked to leave anytime soon.
” What do you think you are doing? ” Alex asks letting go of her hand.
” Is it true that you are in love with her and you are living together? ”
” Yes it is, ” Alex answers with no hesitation, his hand around my waist and that really surprises me.
My breath quickens as he moves even closer and my heart is beating so dmn fast!
What is happening to me?!
Anyway the big question here is, why is he lying to Lisa? He’s no different from his sister.
Lisa is staring at us, jeoulousy clear on her face and it looks like she about to burst with anger, while Nick and Rita have this amused look on their faces.
” But how could you choose her over me? What does she have that I don’t, huh? I gave you all of me Alex!”
” Well… She hasn’t slept with every guy in the city like you have, ” Rita says and I glare at her.” What, ” she says creasing her eyebrows. ” It’s true and my brother doesn’t go for tramps.”
“Stop it Ava, ” Alex tells her and she lifts her hand in surrender, mumbling something. She’s really feisty! ” Lisa, ” Alex countinues. ” You know quite well that there was nothing between us. Just leave and stop causing all this drama. ”
Lisa turns to me her eyes red with anger.
” Don’t think you’ve won Vee. I’ll never let you have him, you get that?! ” she says Storming out of the place while Chloe follows .
Talk about obsession!
” There was no need to lie like that, ” I tell Alex as soon as Lisa is out the door. ” You two have gotten me in deeper trouble! ” I say looking from him to Rita. ”
” Am sorry Vee. I tried to control myself but I couldn’t, ” Rita says apologetically. ” I only wanted to hurt her, like she was hurting you. ”
” It’s okay but please don’t do that again. Lying is so not my cup of tea. ”
” Speaking of lies, I need to talk to you about my mum, ” Alex says his gaze fixed on me. ” Did you by any chance, tell her you were my girlfriend? ”
” Of course not! Your mum just assumed I was and I didn’t get time to clear up the misunderstanding. I really don’t understand why she’d think that I was your girlfriend and least of all pregnant for you! ”
” Wait… Pregnant?! Where the hell did she get that from? “Rita asks.
” Well… I kind of have an explanation for that, ” Alex says telling us the whole story about how Stacy cheated on him and how he had to make up a story just to save himself from marrying her, after she twisted the story on him.
He even tells us about the girl we met outside Chloe’s apartment and how she was supposed to act as his fake pregnant girl friend but now his mum thinks am the girlfriend.
This us all so messed up but what’s even more crazy is that Alex is telling me all about his personal life.I can’t tell at which point we got this close but am glad that i somehow brought Nick closer to his siblings.
Nick and Rita are so entertained by the story that they are quite the whole time, laughing from time to time. All they are missing is popcorns.
I really can’t help but stare at Alex the whole time. He’s moving his jaw in a very sexy way when he talks and I think am falling for his eyes.
He’s crazy gorgeous!
” I think we should just tell her the truth. Lies always end up in a crazy way, ” I say after he’s done.
” What no! Didn’t you hear the guy? his mum is sick and the truth will hurt her more. ” That’s Nick.
I can’t believe he’s saying this! He’s one of the people I know that despises lies.
” Yes Vee. You two have to continue with the pretense, at least until she’s better enough to take in the truth. Anyway, I need to eat already. All his drama has made me super hungry, ” Rita says gesturing for the waiter to come.
I really think all this is crazy but it’s the least I can do, after everything they are doing for me.
