I thought about Ashley as i drove home.
I feel so sorry that she has to go through all this.
I got to my house honking the car horn and the gate was opened, i drove through the driveway till i pulled into the long garage which had different lined up cars.
I got out of the car locking it. I went into the main house. I hope that psycho of a stepdad isn’t around.
My real Dad died when I was 8. Ever since my Mum has been in different marriages finding love.
Then my Mum got married to Andrew Yates.
To the public, he’s an influential, nice business man who’s a caring philanthropist.
But to me, he’s sickening.
A psycho who hates me for no reason.
Thank goodness i don’t bear his last name.
Or it would have been much worse to bear the same last name with my stepbrother. Xavier.
I’d always try to tell my Mum but she never listens. She claims i’m trying to destroy her marriage.
The only reason i still stay in this house with them is because i’m afraid if i leave; He’ll do something bad to my mother.
I quickly climb up the stairs heading to my room when i’m pushed to the floor.
“Ah!”. I gasp as i’m grabbed from behind and slammed into the wall.
“Why are you home so early?”. He growls.
He looked at me with hatred in his eyes.
“Well?”. He says roughly, shaking me.
“It’s a half day”. I lie.
“Where’s your mother?”. He asks not loosening his grip on my neck.
“At work”. I manage to say.
“Do you wanna know why i came back”. He grins. “I got a call from Xavier”.
Xavier and i got into a fight last week and i kinda beat him up badly.
His eyes narrow and blows my jaw throwing me to the floor.
“You b@stard”. He yelled kicking me in the ribs. “How dare you hurt my son”.
He kicks me again.
G0sh! I can’t take this.
Fck respect.
I hit him in the temple trying to make him go fuzzy. I punched his stomach slamming him into the wall.
Then i ran to my room locking the door behind me. I winced as i held my chest in pain where he had kicked my ribs.
I was interrupted by my phone ringing in my pocket. I sighed picking it up.
“Dude, i’m in big shit right now”. Adrian worried voice comes up the phone.
“What are you talking about?”.
“Its lunch time and i can’t find my sister anywhere”.
“Relax, i took her home, she wasn’t feeling good”. I explain.
“Ohh .. Did she tell you —“.
A pounding on the door interrupts Adrian.
“You b@stard, open this door right now”. My stepdad yells.
“Xander, whats that noise all about”. Adrian asks over the phone.
“I gotta go”. I hang up before Adrian can say anything.
The pounding continued.
I nervously grab a rope from my drawer throwing it outside the window tying it firmly. I took my backpack and slid down the rope.
I ran over to my car unlocking it. I got and turned it on.
“Close the gates”. His voice yells from upstairs.
I quickly drove the car in full speed hitting the gates open and driving out.
My hands tightened on the steering wheel as i moved faster.
A black and yellow sign announced a crossroads and i tapped the brakes lightly as i approach a curve.
I looked up and saw a vehicle stop ahead of me. I slammed on the brakes wrenching the wheel with all my strength.
The car skidded, fishtailing and i fought for control. Too late, the rear wheels left the road and plunged down into a ditch tipping cr@zily.
The air bag deployed slamming into me.
