MAMA, I MADE IT!?
Episode 22.
When I got home done with lectures for the day, I met my mom playing on the ground. She even ignored me when I greeted her and I heaved and went in but saw what weakened me the more…..she just turned the whole house upside down.
Then I remembered what Success told me, this past few days I’ve been feeling lonely at home because of my mom attitude, what will happen now she will be taken from me? Who will keep me company? I kept thinking.
I got food prepared for us after arranging the house and she practically poured everything on the ground for me.
I looked at her weighing on the wall and Success called,
“Good evening, I picked up.
“Someone sounds tired, he said.
“You can say that again, I said.
“Sorry about that, I just called to know if you’re home, he said.
“Thank you, I said.
“Alright I’ll call you before going to bed, he said.
“No problem, bye, I said and he dropped the call. I immediately went outside to avoid the annoying sight I was seeing but then I heard water pouring inside.
“Jeez! I exclaimed covering my face on my palm as I felt my head ripping off…….

I woke up very early the next day after Success called back before I went to bed assuring me he will be coming with the team to take her.
I don’t think I slept well that night and that made me wake up so early.
My mom refused sleeping on the bed last night, and before she slept it was by the grace of God because she made sure she made me pass through he.ll.
I’m going to miss her so much and living alone now got me so scared.
I weakly yawned and checked the time to see it was past 5 and i slowly touched her to wake her up.
She hit my hand and turned the other way,
“Mommy wake up let’s brush, I said whispering in her ear but she waved me off.
I sighed and sat down leaving her alone and didn’t know what to do, I thought of arranging her clothes but then I thought the patients wont need that.
I cleaned my face and went outside, that was when I slept off with the cool breeze that hit me.
A call came on my phone and that was what woke me up and it was Charity calling,
“Hey good morning, I picked up.
“Somebody was sleeping huh? She asked?
“Its still early nau, wasup? I asked.
“Babe your own is better you could sleep o, the hostel was hot in the night, no one slept, she said.
“Why? Was there a party or something? I asked.
“Party ke? A girl died in her room o, you know her nau, she said describing the girl for me and I shouted.
“Why? What happened to her! I asked knowing her very well anytime i do visit Charity.
“Is like she got poisoned somewhere, because I saw the time she returned and it was late, everyone retired to their rooms and that when her room mates came out shouting everywhere.
I didn’t even bother to go out o when it was my bed time, but when the noise became too much I had to go out in case there’s a need to run I’ll find myself out side first, but she was confirmed dead just like that, she narrated.
“Ahh nah that’s too sad, she’s too pretty and young to die that soon, I said.
“Purity it wasn’t easy o, I just thank God today is weekend so I can sleep it off. Oya goodnight, she said and I smiled.
“Crazy girl bye, I said and she dropped the call.
It was a good thing she called and I went in to wake my mom up this time very serious,
“Mommy wake up it’s morning, I said shaking her and she shouted sitting up with a frown.
“Good morning mommy, I greeted and took her brush but she refused getting it.
“Mommy its 2 days now and you’ve refused to brush, if you don’t brush today I won’t take you out, I said and she looked at me.
“I want to go out so if you want to follow me you have to start brushing, I said and she took it. We went out to brush but i sadly looked at her, for this will be our last time doing this together.
I cleaned her up and gave her something to eat before settling to do the laundry at home.
At past 10a.m a bus in an ambulance format entered.
I was outside doing my nails while my mom was inside, I got up seeing the bus with a name of the hospital clearly encrypted on it.
Success came out with some nurses and i went to them,
“Good morning Purity, where’s your mom? Success asked replying my greetings and I pointed inside.
Immediately my mom came out to see them, I saw that shock on her face and she went in immediately closing the door behind which i ran trying to open the door with the nurses helping also.
“Mommy please open up! I shouted hitting it and remembered the back door.
Though its always locked but I did a clean up today and opened it,
“The back door, I told them and I and Success ran to the back and i opened it.
I saw my mom holding a knife and my voice flew into my stomach,
“Mommy no listen to me, this is for your own good, i want you to get better, I said but its like I wasn’t saying anything to her. I saw Success moves and got so scared of what the turn up might be,
“Mommy please drop the knife don’t do this, I’m going there with you, I said and before i knew it, Success quickly held the her hand and hit the knife down which i carried it and opened the door for the nurses as my mom was seriously struggling with Success.
She scratched him badly on his hand as the nurses held her dragging her outside, every scream my mom gave tore me in pieces,and every look she gave me was a killer.
I couldn’t help but cry badly on Success as i watched my mom injected by the nurses and she slept off.
She was put on the bed there in the bus and I slowly touched her face with my lips shaking,
“She will be fine Purity, I promise you that, Success calmly said and i sniffed.
“I’ll Miss her you know after all this years, it will be just me now, I said with tears streaming down my face and he hugged me.
“Go lock up let’s go, you’re coming with us so that you can visit her anytime you want, he said and I nodded and locked the house and went into the bus with them.
We arrived at the hospital and she was taken in while Success made me see him mom.
“For how long has she been this way? His mom asked.
“According to my dad, she got mad when she was carrying me, its been so long, I replied.
“I see, and she has been taken to the physiatrics before? She asked and i nodded.
“My dad said there was no use or sign she was getting Better, I replied.
“Okay but what do you think? When you two were together did you see any signs of recovery? She asked and i told her all i noticed with my mom and she nodded jotting things down.
“Thank you and we will try our best to help her out, but I’m not assuring you of a time duration considering how long she has been in this condition. We have experts here to deal with cases like this and I don’t care how the madness came about because we have everything here to make sure the patient get Better.
But the sad news here is, the treatment here is damn costly. And the more saddening news is that, my son has compelled me to help you out for free. He has been on my neck telling me everything about you and i have to do this so I can breathe well, so welcome and congratulations, she said.
“Thank you so much, thank you so much ma, I said and a nurse came in.
“Okay I think i have to go now by you but you hang around if you want, I freely give him out as your tour guide, she said and i laughed while she left with the nurse.
“Thank you so much angel, i said without knowing.
“Angel? He asked.
“Sorry I kind of named you that when i didn’t know your name, I said.
“Angel sounds cool, i think I’ll go for a change of name, he said and i laughed.
“Common let’s go look around, he said holding my hand and we left his mom office as he showed me around.
He pointed at some patients and told me how they do display in the hospital, it was so funny and then i knew my mom didn’t even start in the displaying aspect.
“I don’t think my mom has done all of that, i said laughing.
“In the process of her treatment she will, I bet you will cry and laugh at her at the same time. Ever seen a woman during labour? He asked.
“Yes yes, I won’t know what to feel at that time, i replied.
“Yea that’s it, somehow i wanted laughing at my senior sister but then i knew my mom will be Angry if i did, i had to join them in crying but i ended up laughing it out in the house, he said laughing and i smiled.
“But he’s so calm, I said pointing to one of the patient he showed me before.
“Yea he’s recovering and soon he will be out, my mom doesn’t discharge anyone until the person is fully recovered and can tell full details about his or herself, he said.
“Then she’s good, i said.
“She has everything to treat a mentally disturbed person whatever the cost might be, they are expert and i want you to be assured of one thing, no matter how long this will take because its a very gradual process that needs patience, your mom will surely come around sound, he said.
“I pray she gets better before I graduate, i want to see her celebrate with me because I’m doing this for her, I sadly said and he slowly touched my face.
“She will be there, he said and a patient came running behind him and i took to my heels………..
