MAMA, I MADE IT!??
Episode 43.
I came out later pretending I didn’t know what happened, but I still saw my dad in that sad mood,
“Dad where’s mom? I asked.
“She went out, probably she’s outside, he replied.
“Is there a problem? I asked and he shook his head.
“I’m fine, he replied and I slowly left him outside and found my mom sitting somewhere.
“Can I sit? I asked.
“No, she replied and I smiled.
“I’ll take that as a yes, I said and sat down,
“What’s wrong with dad? I asked and she looked at me,
“I mean I came out and saw dad was not looking good, I said.
“So you came to ask his nanny huh? She asked.
“You’re becoming harsh mom, I said.
“Look Purity I think my stay here is over, I’m going back to the village, I’ll try to see how I can survive on my own okay, she said.
“Mom what are you saying? You know very well my stay in the village is over and I have to attach myself in a hospital here in the city, who will be with you over there? I asked.
“I can take care of myself, I’m not that mad woman anymore right that needs attention? She asked and I shook my head.
“Of course, and going to the village all by yourself is the right thing to do huh? I asked.
“What is the right thing to do? Stay here and let you and your father feed me like I’m a baby right? She asked.
“I thought we are family? I asked.
‘Family? You are my only family Purity and Soon you and your father will go home where you all be one big family which I don’t belong there, she said.
“You too, you are going with us don’t say that, I said taking her hand but she took it off.
“Going there as what? Purity my only place there is the fact that I’m your mother, but you see my legs can never step into that house. I’ll take care of my self and whenever you feel like you want to see me, you know where to find me, she said.
“Where is this coming from? Is it because of dad? I asked.
“Don’t get me angry Purity, she replied.
“Why can’t you answer me? Yes dad did you wrong but it wasn’t entirely his fault, what ever happened he was also a victim. He was also denied of the woman he truly loved and he only put up with Eunice because he felt he had no choice, can you please give dad a chance again? You know he wants you back, I said and my mom stood up angrily looking at me.
“Let me not hear this from you again, in fact I’m leaving tomorrow, she said and was about to go.
“Fine you’re free to go, you just proved you never wanted me and don’t care about me. I was wrong to ever think you’re concerned about my feelings and ready to do whatever will make me happy, now I see you only think about yourself.
What will I do to have the family I always dreamed of? But no you won’t understand what I passed through growing up with my step mother and watched her shower all the love and attention on her children and all I do is watch. I fought to have it when I insisted to see you and made sure you’re better, and i thought I had it now but its fine you can go, I said and left her rather as she stopped listening to me.
I passed my dad inside and ran to my room as my phone began to ring,
“Hi, coming back? I asked when I picked up Success call.
“What’s wrong with your voice? He asked.
“Nothing I was just coughing but it’s fine, I replied.
“Okay I’ll be passing to the station to bring Abigail, he said.
“Oh great, we will be waiting, I said.
“Alright love, see ya, he said dropping the call and I heaved and laid on the bed and a knock came on the door.
“Purity what’s wrong? My dad asked when i didn’t reply and I slowly opened up letting him in.
“Who got you upset? He asked when he came in.
“No one, I replied sitting down.
“Don’t lie to me Purity, what’s troubling you? He asked and I cleaned my face and seriously looked at him.
“Tell me something dad, did you really love mom? And were you really happy with Eunice when my mom was mentally ill? I asked surprising him with the question he wasn’t expecting.
“Purity….. “Its sad knowing there will be no chance for you both anymore, I thought true love always stand the test of time, I thought you both had that kind of love that kept fighting, I cut in.
“Honey maybe some things were not just meant to be, despite the love some people are just destined not to be together. I think those set of people are your mother and I, he sadly replied.
“But love they said was the greatest, then its a lie, I said.
“No its not, Purity I thank God that love we had then gave you to us, I could never ask for more so please, love is still the greatest and you are that fruit, he said and hugged me while I fought back my own tears.
I know my dad still loves my mom and i became confused of the way to bring them back despite the years they were separated.
My dad decided to leave me alone and I laid back on the bed thinking of so many things until I heard a car drove in,
“Success, I said getting up to leave the room.
I got to the sitting room and saw my parents already there saying nothing to each other, then I saw Abigail slowly walked and quietly stood by the door.
“My dear, Abigail dear come here, my dad said to her stretching His hand as he sat on the wheel chair.
“What did you all do to my mother? She asked and Success walked in.
“Abigail there’s a lot you don’t know okay, my dad said.
“I know, that you all ganged up on my mother and locked me up in prison like a criminal. Where is my mother! she shouted and I scoffed.
“Safe your strength baby sister i will tell you, your mother will be enjoying 7 years in jail, something that Worth celebrating and you know why? She almost destroyed my mother, she made her mad just so she can have my father for herself. They were supposed to be best friends but she stabbed her at the back and erased her off, and what about my dad? You saw for yourself what she did! Don’t tell me you know nothing about the fake cancer result, the poison she gave to dad so he won’t visit me in the village, or even the car that hit him when he was doing his morning exercises, you know about them all! Now do you know where your mother Is? I asked back.
“You’re lying! I want to see my mother and don’t you dare say no! She shouted and I rolled my eyes.
“Just like her mother, I muttered.
“Abigail, have i ever wronged you in anyway? You saw all i was going through and i even begged you to find help for me but you refused, why did you do that to me? Why did you let your mom poison you that much? My dad asked.
“ohh words so emotional i must say, but did you really love me as you claim? You loved her only! She shouted pointing at me.
“Abigail that’s not true, my dad said.
“What’s the truth huh? My mom was smart enough to know your plans and had to act fast, you wanted giving them all your properties forgetting you have 3 other children, you didn’t love us but only my mother now where is she! She shouted.
“Oh you shut up you greedy and devious thing! You claim dad didn’t love you yet he always stood by you even when you wronged me. Or have you suddenly forgotten how he slapped me because of you! I shouted on her and Success held me.
“You want to see your mother right? Success asked her.
“Take me to my mother, i have the right to see her, she replied.
“Good and fine and I’ll take you there, he said and i looked at him.
“What? I asked him.
“Let her see her, he replied.
“Then I’m going with you, dad, mom I’ll be back, I said to them and we got into the car……….

We spoke to the police men there and our request was granted, though she insisted to speak with her mother alone. Success accepted and waited outside but I refused, I didn’t trust her and i was eager to know what they will be discussing, so i carefully followed her behind to eavesdrop on their conversation and I saw Abigail crying holding her mother hands.
“Shhhh baby girl don’t do that, be strong for mommy and your siblings okay now I’m here, i want you to be strong like your mother and fight, Eunice said and she sniffed.
“I just want to know something mommy, were you guilty with all that was charged against you? Abigail asked.
“Does it matter? Eunice asked.
“I want to know, and i need the truth. Everything that was said is it true? She asked and Eunice bowed her head.
“Its true dear but i did it for you, I want my kids to be established no matter what trust me, she replied.
“Really mom, you lie because you only did all of that for your selfish self. Did you really think dad would have abandoned us like we never existed? Abigail asked.
“We are uncertain of the future and i didn’t want Purity to have a dime of any of his shares that’s why i wanted it all for you and your siblings don’t you understand? Eunice asked.
“I’m trying to understand how wicked and selfish you at now, why should you do that? Now you want me to continue the war from where you started then end up like you here? I thought you loved me, then you would have advised me to go make peace with dad and rebuild the relationship you destroyed and not this way. You almost killed dad for no reason, I’m sorry i can’t be like you and I’m so disappointed, Abigail said.
“Abigail listen to me, i fought so hard for this don’t be a weakling now! Eunice Shouted.
“If you were that brave why are you here! Purity is dad child also and there’s nothing you can do about it, i hope after the 7 years you will learn your lessons and change from your bad ways, Abigail said and 2 officers approached Abigail as an indication her time was up.
“Abigail Abigail! Eunice shouted shocked to her bones as Abigail ran out covering her mouth controlling her tears while we stood looking at her,
“Satisfied now right? Success asked.
“Take me home, Abigail replied and i smiled to myself…………..
