That night Charity left with Success to the hotel after a lot of talking, while I stayed back with my parents in the hospital,
“Do you trust her with your boyfriend? Or are they sleeping in separate rooms? My dad asked when i returned from dropping them off down stairs and I smiled.
‘She’s my friend, I replied and my mom looked at me.
I was confused with her look and asked why, and she began to talk in an angry mood and I heaved,
“What does she mean By that? I mean which friend of hers betrayed her? My dad asked after she was done and I covered my face with my hands breathing in and kept my hands down.
“Mom I trust my friend and I trust Success, everyone can’t be the same you know, I said to my mom ignoring my dad question and my mom quickly laid down and I shook my head knowing she must be very angry.
“What’s going on? My dad asked.
“Dad tomorrow okay, I had a long day, I replied.
“Alright dear, good night, he said.
“Good night dad, good night mom, I said touching my mom but she took my hands off from her, I just smiled knowing my mom shakara is always out of this world and I took my phone to keep me busy until sleep takes me.

The next morning everyone was awake and I arranged breakfast for my mom and waited for Charity or Success to arrive so I can go over to the hotel.
After checking my dad they walked in,
“Ahh just in time, I said and Success gave me peck as greetings were exchanged.
“So let me check your wounds before I go rest, I said to Success.
“Charity already did, Success said and I looked at Charity.
“She did? I asked.
“Save the thank you, she replied waving at me and concentrated on her phone and I nodded and faked a smile.
“Okay we will be back then, I said and left with my mom but I wasn’t happy.
I don’t know if my parents words last night had a way through me, besides my boyfriend and my friend just shared the room for the night without me there, and now she dressed his wound before coming like I sent her to do that.
I began to imagine how many times Success must have held her hands in the process and how close they must be, I didn’t know when I hissed in the taxi while I was thinking and my mom touched me.
I didn’t say anything to her till we arrived the hotel, I threw my bag on the bed and began looking around for anything I can hold suspicious about them but saw nothing.
But my mom began to laugh at me, I became infuriated at her laugh when nothing was funny and definitely she must be laughing at me.
“Mom please just stop laughing already, I’m not in a good mood, I said and sat down with a frown.
‘But….but…..you said….she friend, she said and I looked at her.
“Its you and daddy fault, now I’m beginning to have thoughts I shouldn’t have, just because Eunice took over dad doesn’t mean Charity will do same to Success na. He waited for me for 6 years plus and he won’t be that stupid to do such a thing na, just look at the thoughts I’m having now and its not good for me or my relationship, i worriedly said and she touched me.
“Sorry, she said and I sadly looked away saying nothing.
‘She…she…a good…go girl, and Suc….ess is goo too, she said and I sniffed and nodded.
‘I know right, now I’m feeling bad for having such a thought about them despite all they have done for me as a friend, I said keeping my head on her shoulders.
“So…sorry, she said and I smiled.
“Its okay mom, let’s go shower! I shouted and stretched myself to release my self from the devilish thoughts that came upon me……………..

We returned back to the hospital and my dad was asleep when I entered, though Success and Charity were outside talking.
My mom stayed inside while I came out to sit with them after dropping the bag,
“Thanks for covering up for me, I said to them but Charity rolled her eyes.
“Here she comes with this her thank you thank you thank you, she said.
“Courtesy demands that whether we are friends or family, I have to thank you, I said.
“Okay you’re welcome, so your dad asked us some questions when you left with your mom, Charity said and my heart skipped and I feared my dad must have asked her something relating to Success.
“What did he asked? I asked.
“He said yesterday your mom was talking about friend betraying her and he feels you’re hiding something from him because you’ve been avoiding most of his questions, she replied and I was calm.
“I’ve never avoided his questions, its just that I don’t have that strength to answer him at the time he will ask. But what did you answer him? I asked.
“We told him everything that happened na,what else? Success asked back.
“I even added jara just in case he has an opportunity to meet with the bitch he will kill her easily, Charity said.
“Ahhhhh! I shouted and burst out laughing.
“Shey in court I go follow talk? I swear court for just shut down when I finish, Charity said.
“I know na basket mouth, who go even allow you talk? You be witness? Success asked.
“E concern you, when I raise my hand for there like i wan answer question you go know say I be senior witness, she said.
‘So what did He say after hearing what Eunice did to my mom? I asked.
“He upset na before nkor? Charity replied and i shook my head smiling.
“i used the opportunity to ask him about the hospital she was taken to and he quickly told me, I think tomorrow I have some traveling to do, Success said.
“With your health? Common dear you’re not strong to drive, I said.
“Okay what if i go there myself? Charity asked.
“No way, i need to be there, Success said and his phone began to ring,
“Its the big man there at the station, he said to us and picked up putting the call on loudspeaker.
“Yes sir, good afternoon,he said.
“Afternoon Success, I haven’t seen you at the station today, I hope you’re good? The police man asked.
“Sir there are things I have to attend to and I’m in the hospital here, but I hope the idiot is still in there? He asked.
“Yes yes, its just that her lawyer wants a court hearing soon, like very soon. I tried speaking up for you that you’re still sick after she attacked you but the reply is there are thousands of lawyers to take up the case apart from you, the man said and Success smiled.
“Its okay sir, I understand why they want it that soon so I won’t go far in gathering more proves to expose them but its okay by me, I think ermmm…. He said checking his wrist watch,
“I’ll be at court today to carry out some things, thanks for the information, he said to him.
“You’re welcome, and good luck, the man said and dropped the call.
‘Now you see there is no time, I’ll travel down there to the hospital while you will go check out where her father was given wrong diagnosis, Charity quickly said.
‘And what I’m I to do? I asked.
“Stay here with your parents, i won’t be around anymore and right now i need to go to the court and see what’s going on there. Bye love, Success replied and left immediately leaving me with Charity.
“Are you sure you can do this alone? I can’t just sit down here doing nothing, I said to her.
“Who says you’re doing nothing? Watching after your parents and taking care of your dad is something, besides we will need him in court, do what you can to make your father strong. Don’t worry i can manage the situation there, but you know you can’t come with me, who will take care of your parents if you do? Don’t worry we got this, she said touching my Laps.
“But i don’t understand this at all, why should the court give ears to a criminal and agree on something without finding out if its okay with us or not. She’s the criminal here and we are the victim, can’t they see that! Its not just fair at all to us! I shouted and Charity heaved.
“Baby girl with that root of all evil anything can happen, but somehow I know we will win this. You just need to have faith on your boyfriend, he will surely make them pay no matter how brutal they are with power, she said and i covered my head but she raised my face up like she wanted saying another encouraging words to me and she gave a little smile,
“I want to eat Turkey with a good wine to wash down, She said and i rolled my eyes.
“Oh Charity please don’t start, how can you think of such a thing now? I asked.
“Shuooo so I should not think of Turkey again? Come and buy me Turkey abeg before judge go settle this matter for court o. I want to eat Turkey, she said standing up already and i shook my head.
“You know I’m very happy Charity, I said.
“For what kwa? If you want to eat buy your own o because i won’t share, she said.
“Not that one sef, i am just counting few years so that one guy will just come out from the blues and marry you, so that me too can rest, I said.
“Hiannnn because of Turkey now I’m disturbing you ba and you even want to sell me out to blues guy, is alright nah, Charity said and sat down with a frown and I went in and took some cash from my bag,
“Mommy I’m going to get something, what should i buy for you? I quietly asked my mom and she whispered back.
“Alright Be a good girl for me okay, I’ll be back, and tell dad when he wakes up I won’t stay long, i said pecking her and came out.
‘Oya madam let’s go, I said to Charity.
“I lost my appetite, she said not looking at me.
“Make sure the appetite wont come back when you see me eating my own, bye, I said and started going.
“Hey wait na, why you fast like that! I heard Charity shouting behind and ran after me while i held my laugh.
