He said that he would come and pick me up since I didn’t know where his house was.

After hours of waiting and packing, he finally came, at least that’s what I thought.

I heard a loud knock on the door. I walked to the door expecting a smirk Charles but instead, it was a complete stranger.

“How may I help you?” I asked the man who was standing in front of me by the door.

“Good morning madam, Mr Greene send me to pick you up. He had an emergency he had to attend to.” The man answered.

“OK, I’ll go get my bags,” I said.

I ran upstairs to get my bags. He helped me carry my bags to the car since there were too heavy.

This is it. I’m finally moving into my soon to be husband’s house.

Just great!

Note the sarcasm.

It felt like an hour before we got there. All the houses in the area are extremely huge. It must be nice living here.

I getting there, i see the most beautiful house I have ever seen. That’s if you can even call it a house. It was more like a mansion. It was way bigger than my parents house. Everything about it screamed billions.

I got out of the car admiring the view
Oops! This house is damns beautiful.

“Yoi like the house?” Charles said as he walked out of the house.

“I thought your driver said you had an emergency you had to attend to,” I said

“I just wanted to welcome you home. So do you like the house?”he replied.

“Of course, your house is so beautiful.”i said

“It’s our house now. Come let’s go inside.”he said softly.

That’s different. He is actually being nice to me.

“OK, this way let me show you to your room.” He said

“OK, why are you being nice to me.”I asked.

I better start getting dress. I opened my bag to grab my pair of takkies and my ripped skinny jeans.

After getting dressed I walked to his car to see a very impatient Charles.

I was shocked he didn’t make any compliment about my appearance or the fact I was late.

“So where are we going?” I asked getting into the car.

“Can’t tell you, its a surprise.” He answered with a smirk on his face.

It took about half an hour before we took a stop. What surprised me was that we stopped at the pet shop.

“What are we doing at a pet shop?”I asked but he didn’t respond me.

We got into the store to look at all the dogs. They were all so cute, I had no idea how I was going to choose from all those dogs. That’s when I saw a puppy all alone. He looked so cute with his brown little eyes that were now staring at me.

“I want that one,” I said pointing at the cute little puppy.

“OK, you wait for me by the car while I get the puppy.”he replied gently.

I did exactly as he said. After about ten minutes he finally came with my little brown dog. he gently handed me the dog before finally speaking.

“It’s too hard to sleep, we got the sheets on the floor. Nothing on us And we can’t take it no more it’s a hundred degrees

You got one foot out the door, but you ain’t got your keys

But you gotta leave yeah In the back of the cab you tipped the driver ahead of time, to get you there fast

And you got my body on your mind, you want it bad

Just the thought of me gets you so high, so high

Boy, I’m the one and you’ve got to have me And if you want me, boy you got me.”

Before I could sing any farther the music was off.

“Put it back on,” I yelled at Charles

“No way, you t0rturing Charles Junior and me with your singing.”

“No, I’m not, you wish you had a voice like mine.”

He then looked at me then raised his eyebrow to give me the ‘oh really’ look.

“And you should just keep quiet because you clearly don’t know the lyrics.”

“I heard that you know.”

The rest of the journey home was silent.

When we came back from the pet store, Charles helped me with my packing. When he said he would earlier I didn’t actually believe him because he is not very good at keeping promises. I’d know that.

Not so long after that, I heard the doorbell ring. Since Charles was too busy watching his soccer game he asked me to get it.
I wonder who it could be? Probably one of Charles’s friends.

“OK, I’m coming” I yelled.

Whoever it was had been ringing the doorbell for the past two minutes. It’s not my fault this house is so big.

I opened the door only to see the biggest shock of my life.
“Michael?” I said as my eyes widen in shock.

“Elie?” He said.
