She knew it was onlya matter of time before Deji lost his patience and sent the messengers after her. Running as fast as her legs could carry her, she left the canteen hoping they wouldn’t see her immediately, unfortunately, she wasn’t swift enough, one of them spotted her and began a chase with the other following closely behind, she knew that if she ran into a gathering of students, they wouldn’t hesitate to harm them just to capture her so she ran into a nearby bush hoping to find a good hiding place.
She didn’t hear any footsteps following behind her so she concluded they didn’t see her run into the bush and decided to hide there till they must’ve left.
After about 30 minutes of hiding and being bitten by all kinds of insects, she decided it was safe to come out. She slowly crept out of her hiding spot watching her back to makesure no one was following when a man wearing black suddenly jumped down from one of the trees behind her, “not so fast” he shouted pointing a gun at her, “where do you think you’re going?” “who are you?” She screamed, “shh!” The man said putting a finger across his lips, “I’ll pull the trigger if you don’t stop screaming” he said moving closer.
Trembling in fear, she remained silent as the man stepped closer, “I’ve been sitting up in that tree watching you fool yourself down here” he said pointing to the giant tree with many branches behind them. “the messengers didn’t bother with you when they realised you had stupidly surrendered yourself into our territory” he explained pointing the gun at Lola who was seriously
sweating by then.
He made a funny sound with his tongue and two more men dressed completely in black jumped down from nearby trees holding guns in their hands too.“number 1 will be with us shortly” one of them announced to the others, “did you seriously think you could outsmart us?” he asked turning to face Lola….
