I tried my best to make sure Iwas as close to Lara as possible, I was interested in knowing everything that happened in her life, so I made friends with Jeff. Slowly but surely, I penetrated my way into his inner circle of friends and eventually became his close confidant.
Of course Lara was never comfortable with our friendship but she was too ashamed to mention it to Jeff, she didn’t know how to tell him that she had slept with his now-best friend. I didn’t mention it to Jeff either, I hated him for stealing my Lara buthe had no idea, as far as he was concerned, I was a good friend.One day, he called me to say that he was going to ask Lara to marry him; my heart sunk, I did everything I could to discourage him but he was convinced thatshe was his wife, so he went ahead to marry her.From that day, my hatred for him multiplied, I watched him exchange vows with Lara at the altar while I stood behind supporting him as his best-man, I had hoped that somehow Lara would dump him at the altar the same way she dumpedme but instead she said “yes I do”.
It was the most painful experience watching Jeff take my Lara to be his wife; it was on that day that I vowed deep within me that I would make him pay for ruining my happiness even if it took me a hundred years so I waited patiently for the right time to strike…..
