Chapter 99
Gray did his best and managed “Thank God, you’re okay. Don’t scare me like that ever again! I can’t lose someone I love, not anymore,” He said
“You love me?” She asked.
“Yeah, I love you, Elena. I love you so so much!” He said while she burst into tears on his shoulders.
“Do you know how long I’ve wanted to hear those words from you?” She said and he smiled. “I love you too, Gray.” She said.
They stayed like that for a while, and Gray decided to take her home. By that time, security personnels were already at the spot trying to clear the corn barn after stopping the car.
“Always check your car before driving, okay?” He said.
“This is a planned accident with the aim of taking my life.” Elena said.
“How did you know that?” Gray asked after they had settled in the car, and the driver took off, heading to the estate.
“The car was perfectly fine when I brought it to work this morning. The brakes were tampered with.” Elena said.
“Who on earth would want you dead?” Gray asked.
Elena knew it was Camille. Seems, the witch had already planned her death before they scared her last night.
“Whoever it is, I will find out, and he or she will not escape my wrath.” Elena said.
“I’ll also help. To be honest, I was really scared today.” Gray said. Everything that happened reminded him about Noel’s de..ath.
He didn’t want to make the mistake of coming late, at least, saving Elena has eased him of the guilt he felt for not being able to come to Noel’s rescue on time.
“Was that why you jumped into the car like that?” She asked and he chuckled.
“I wasn’t even conscious of what I was doing. All I kept thinking was saving you.” He said.
“And you did. Thanks.” She smiled.
“You’re welcome.” He smiled back.
“But next time, don’t dare something bizarre like that again. You would have gotten hurt or worse…” She said.
“So, you’re trying to tell me that I shouldn’t have saved you?” He asked.
“I’m grateful that you saved me but, losing you would be hell for me,” She sighed. “Life is one thing people value most but what is life without love? While that car was moving, there was only one person I thought of and that person was you.
There were so many questions in my mind, questions like, will I ever be able to see you again? One year in coma was so lonely? The reason I survived a year ago was because of you, Gray.
I prayed for God to give me a second chance, so that we would do things we didn’t do while I was with you, to marry and bear children for you.
When I returned and saw that you haven’t moved on, my heart yearned more for you.” Elena said with tears in her eyes while Gray stared at her in confusion, not sure of what she was talking about.
“Maybe you h!t your head while the car was out of control. Don’t worry, you’ll be better in the morning.” He said and she smiled sadly.
“Gray, I want you to promise me that you won’t get mad at me when I tell you who I truly am.” She said.
“Are you impersonating someone?” Gray asked.
“Something like that. Two days to come, I have something to show you.
It’s the answer to all your problems, the truth to all the lies you’ve be fed, to reveal a secret about your supposed son and make Camille leave you for good.” Elena said.
“What are you talking about?” Gray asked.
“You’ll find all the answers in two days.” She smiled.

THE ESTATE
They drove in and came down. Lucas and Annabella were already outside waiting for them. Gray held her hand and brought her to them.
“You’re welcome, let’s go in.” Lucas said and they entered.
“Mr Gray, you look so happy this evening. What has my sister told you?” Annabella asked as they sat down.
“Something special.” He smiled.
“Hope you’re alright? You didn’t come with your car.” Lucas said.
“I’ll explain later.” Elena said.
After staying for a while, Gray bid them goodbye and left. Elena sighed and looked at Lucas who was waiting for an answer. “I almost d!ed today.” She said and they gasped.
“How?” Lucas and Annabella asked simultaneously.
“Someone tampered with my car brakes…” She told them all that happened.
“I’m sure it’s none other than Camille who is responsible for this.” Lucas said.
“She is a bçh! What do you expect?” Annabella said, revenge written all over her face.
“Yeah. But, she didn’t know that she did it for my own good.” Elena said.
“Tell us how.” Lucas requested.
“It made Gray confess his love for me.” Elena blushed.
“Oh my gosh! That’s awesome!” Annabella exclaimed.
“Yeah, but that doesn’t mean that she won’t get punished.”
“You’re right, Elena. Since, Gray has confessed, when is he going to be able to see Noel?” Lucas smiled.
“In two days. After I reveal all Camille’s schemes to him. She is going to be present in the office too, I’m going to show her what hell on Earth looks like. No one messes with me and go unscathed.” Elena said.
“Wow! That was scary and fierce.” Annabella said.
“It is. Lucas, were you able to get the test results from Doctor Lee in Los Angeles?” Elena asked.
“Yeah. I also got some intimate photos of her and Chris.” Lucas said.
“Good! Prepare everything for two days to come. Gray is about to meet the love of his life but first, I need to see my parents. Annabella, we’re going to use that abomination to meet my younger sister.” Elena said.
“Yay! I can’t wait.” She squealed.
“You’re sure about this?” Lucas asked and she nodded. “I’ll support you.” He said and she smiled.
“Thank you.”

GRAY’S BEDROOM
After showering and eating, he took his laptop to check on some important documents and emails but couldn’t concentrate.
He had different things to think about. He couldn’t comprehend what Elena was talking about in the car and it’s bothering him greatly. He thought about what she said.

“What did she mean by that? Did she go anywhere before? Did she meet me before? Aish! This is frustrating!” He yelled.

CAMILLE’S HOUSE
“You bà$tard! You and your boys can’t do anything right. Why is she still alive?” Camille yelled and sIapped the guy in front of her.
“We tried our best to tamper with her brakes. Maybe she got saved.” He said.
“By who exactly? A ghost?” Camille mocked.
“It could be Gray because, he was with her and drove behind her when it happened.” The guy said.
“Just get out!” She yelled and he scampered out. “Oh Elena! I will make sure I kll you for messing with me.
Yes, you’re smarter and more agile than Noel but that won’t stop me from ending your stay on planet Earth.
I klled Teresa, I klled Julie, I also klled Noel, you won’t be an exception!” Camille yelled and stormed into her room.
Levi who was at a corner smiled. “Thank God you’ve admitted it.” He clicked save and sent the recording to Elena.
