“Yes.. Lincoln really admires you as a woman and so asked for your hand in marriage to your mother but she asked us to wait..
Luckily, she accepted and we happened to be in town so we just came here” David smiled.
“What!!” Valerie spranged up.
“It’s for the best Val.. You’re getting old and-”
“Cut the crap mom!! Just say you want to sell me off because they’re rich!!” Valerie cuts her off in anger.
What followed was a slap from Hailey. Valerie held her cheek and looked at her in shock.
Hailey has never raised her hand on her since she was born,, and she just did now.
Hailey immediately regretted doing that..
“Val-”
“I’m never getting married to him mom… Never!!” Valerie said in tears and rushed out of the house..
The McKinleys stared at the two of them in shock. Hailey sighed and turned to them with an apologetic look on her face.
“I’m sorry.. I’ll talk to her and she’ll definitely come around.
Things haven’t been easy on us that’s why she’s like that” She said.
“Sure we understand” Constance smiled.
“Well guess we should take our leave now” David stood, same as the others.
Lincoln didn’t say a word, he just looked warily at Hailey as they left.
Hailey fell back on the couch..
“You must get married to them. I’ll make sure of that” She said inwardly.

Nicholas and Brittany held hands as they walked, both of them were deep in thoughts. What happened to Zayne was definitely something to think about.
“Love?” Nicholas called.
Brittany turned to him..
“I think we should send the kids out of here.. I feel like something huge is coming up” Nicholas said.
“You just said my mind. The problem is where? Where can we send them that is safe and out of danger” Brittany said
They both sighed loudly..
“Xavier is out” Brittany drop the bombshell.
“What!!”
“Yes, I have spies on him and they told me that Xavier is out.. Here, look” She brought out her phone and showed it to him.
There was a trending news.. A fire accident at Mexico’s prison caused by Xavier Hayes and he escaped with two other prisoners.
Nicholas’s eyes widened but Brittany didn’t look surprised. She had a hunch he’ll do something like that, prison can’t hold back someone like Xavier.
“He’s coming for me,, I know that… And for you too” Brittany said and looked at Nicholas.
“I’m not scared of him. I’m just scared of you and the kids” Nicholas said.
“Me too” Brittany sighed.
Nicholas looked at a particular direction and furrowed his brows.
“Love… Look!” He pointed at a direction.
Brittany turned to his direction of sight and saw Valerie sitting on a bench, crying her eyes out.
People kept looking at her but she cared less.
“Go home, I’ll talk to her” Brittany turned to him
Nicholas nodded kssed her lips and turned to three of his bodyguards who were tailing them.
He motioned them to watch over Brittany before he left for his car.
