As i remained seated watching how the guests rejoiced with mom, giving her so many expensive gift. A maid walked to me, she lowered her head and greeted me. I nodded in response as i glimpsed at her hand, she was holding a glass of water.
“Ma’am, please have this.” She stretched out the glass to me.
“Thank you.” I smiled, it was as if she knew I was craving for water. I was feeling so tired and thirty as well.
She bowed her head and walked to the other maids who were busying serving drinks.
“Riley.” My name was called as I was about to gulp down the water.
“Sister Yuri.” I smiled and stood up, dropping the water on a table next to me.
“Can we talk?.”
Huh?. Talk about what?. I hope all is well.
“Yes.” I respond.
We both headed out of the living room as we began to take a walk around the magnificent wide compound.
“Can you tell me something?.” She began.
“What could that be sister Yuri?.” I asked, I felt so impatient to know why she wanted us to talk outside.
“What was Scott’s real reaction about your pregnancy?.”
“Be sincere Riley.” She added.
I almost flinched but didn’t, I thought of Scott, his warnings. I faked a smile and voiced out. “Of course he is happy.”
“You haven’t forgotten that am aware of you two fake marriage right?., so talk to me please.”
“Am being truthful, he is so glad..”
“He told you to go for abo.rtion. Am I right?.” She interfered, goosebumps sprang over my arms, her look was very serious and this is the first time I have seen her like this.
“How….did..?.” I stuttered, i was beyond surprised.
“I overheard your conversation with him that day, now tell me, do you like the idea that you’re gonna abort your child?.”
“No, I hate it sister Yuri.” I bursted into tears.
She sighed and touched my shoulders looking into my teary eyes. “I never expected my brother to do this, am so sorry Riley. I promise to help you, after that two months, am going to make sure your child lives.” She stated.
All what she said made my face radiate with happiness. Oh my God, I can’t believe this, does she really mean it!!.
“Thank you so much sister Yuri.” I said.
“You’re always welcome. To lose a child is very hurtful, I wish Scott knows this. How could he be this heartless, am so sorry Riley. I kindly apologize on his behalf.”
“It’s okay sister Yuri.” I smiled.
“And about Tonia, am positive she also knows about the contact. Whatever she does to you, please just ignore her. I can say she could be very childish at times.”
“Alright.” I nod.
“Thank you.” She pulled me into a hug.
“You’ll be safe, i promise you.” She muttered.
“We should go back to the party, mom might notice our absence and get worried, especially now that you’re pre.gnant.”
“You’re right.”
She chuckled and grabbed my wrist, together we went back to the others. It felt so good I got to share my pain with sister Yuri. I wasn’t wrong about her, she is a very nice person. Am glad she isn’t like her younger sister, Tonia.

Immediately we got back inside, Scott walked to me. Sister Yuri excused herself, walking past us.
“What were you two discussing Ry?.” He asked getting close to my face.
The fact he is close to my face didn’t scare me that much but the way he called me Ry….it’s very unusual. He must be very annoyed right now.
“Nothing much Scott.” I voiced out staring at him boldly, I suddenly couldn’t decipher where I got the boldness from.
His eyes widened a bit, he must be shocked i called him by his name not ‘sir’. His attractive pink lips quickly curved into a smirk.
“Don’t mess with me Riley. Am so serious.” He said. Thanks to the music being played, am sure no one would hear what he stated.
Seriously??.
“So am not allowed to speak to your siblings again?.” I blurted out, I felt so angry as well.
“You….!.”
“Bro!.” A calm voice interrupted him. We turned our gaze to see it was a man in black tuxedo, he looked absolutely perfect in it. He smiled and walked to us.
“Jacob…..” Scott called as they both shook hands.
“How are you doing?.” Mr Jacob asked the man i hate so much.
“Am good, It has been a while. Thanks for making it to my mom’s party bro.”
“Oh…it’s nothing. What are friends for huh.” He said.
His gaze met mine, I guessed Scott already knew what he wanted to ask.
“Yeah, she is the one. Riley.” Scott uttered
“Oh uhm nice to meet you.” He said and stretched out his hand.
“Jacob Rollins.” He smiled.
“Riley Martins.” I replied, i hesitated before grabbing his hand for a handclasp.
“You look wonderful tonight.” He told me as he caressed my hand, I had to remove my hand from his instantly cause I felt so uncomfortable when he did that and plus, Scott. He was watching the two of us as we did our little introduction, i mean just look at his face, it’s emotionless. Am not even sure if he is pissed off about it.
“Excuse me.” I faked a smile and walked past them cause it seemed he wanted to have a
chit chat with Scott.

“Dude, what about Melissa?.” Jay asked sipping from his glass of red wine.
“What about her?.” I became pissed off at the mention of that wh’re.
“Please calm down, I just wanted to know if you’ve moved on.” He said.
“Well, I haven’t.” I shrugged.
I don’t just want to recall about what happened, it is very weird he could still ask me this cause Melissa cheated on me with him. But since it isn’t his fault, I trusted him and forgave him. Melissa….she dared seduced him, how could she??!. Thinking about it made my chest hurt, I loved her so much. She was my first girlfriend, I still can’t believe she did this to me.
“Am sorry Ryan.” He said in a low voice with his eyes filled with guilt.
“Jay, it’s okay.” I faked a smile.
“Thanks pal.”
I felt my phone’s vibration in my pocket, I dipped my hand into it and brought it out. I scoffed as I stared at the caller, speak of the bch!.
“Melisa?.” Jay asked.
“Yeah, give me a sec.” I said, walked past him and looked for a quiet place to receive the call. It was today i got to realize how big Scott’s mansion is.
“What do you want Melissa?!.” I asked curtly.
“Ryan, please don’t hang up. Please listen to…” She stuttered.
“Don’t waste my time bch, am very busy at the moment and you’re really bugging me with your stupid calls. So bch, get straight to the point.”
“Ryan, I want you to calm down and listen to me. If Jacob is with you, I need you to excuse yourself from him cause I wanna tell you something very important.” She rushed her words.
If Jacob is with me….????. Why??. What does she want to tell me?.
“You know….I still haven’t forgotten the sht you did.”
“It wasn’t my fault Ryan…” She cried.
“Then whose fault is it huh?!.”
“It is Jac…”

I made up my mind to call Ryan, I needed to tell him everything about his so called best friend, Jacob. He needs to know Jacob’s true self, how he could be so ¢ruel!.
I was so surprised when he picked up, I really didn’t expect it cause am very positive he is still and will always be mad at me.
“Don’t waste my time bch, am very busy at the moment and you’re really bugging me with your stupid calls. So bch, get straight to the point.”
My heart was racing so fast when he said that to me, I held my phone with shaky hands and proceeded.
“Ryan, I want you to calm down and listen to me. If Jacob is with you, I need you to excuse yourself from him cause I wanna tell you something very important.” I said hastily before he could hang up the call and I felt glad that he didn’t.
“You know….I still haven’t forgotten the sht you did.” He uttered, he sounded angry and I could sense how hurt he is right now.
“It wasn’t my fault Ryan…”
“Then whose fault is it huh?!.” He asked.
“It is Jac…” I wanted to mention the name of that d’vil but i got cut off by the sound of the door.
Someone’s knocking……very hard!.
I stood up puzzled with the way the person knocked on my door. “What did you say?.” Ryan asked on the phone.
“Everything that happened wasn’t my fault. Someone wanted to destroy our relationship because he felt jealous, he was so angry seeing us together.”
“And who is the person you speak of?.” He queried.
I took a deep breathe and before I could answer, my door suddenly busted open revealing two huge scary looking men wearing dark face masks.
“What the h’ll?.” I muttered in shock as my phone slumped to the floor.
“Who are…?.” Before I could complete my statement, one of them rushed to me and $macked my face.

I fell down, I began feeling dizzy as my vision turned blur. I closed my eyes slowly in pain.
