Episode 40
The club was buzzing with a loud music and everyone seems busy.
Ann gulped down her glass of drink and check the time on her phone, it’s getting to 8pm, Dave haven’t showed up yet.
“Maybe i should just keep myself busy,” she said to herself then pop another bottle of champagne.
” Hi sexy, ” a voice said, seating next to her.
“You look wasted…” He smirked.
” That’s because my so called boyfriend isn’t here,” she said then stood up but staggered back.
“You need help, ”
The guy look around to make sure no eyes was on them. He held Ann as they walked towards the direction of the guest room .
“Release her now! A voice commanded and the guy smirked when he looked at him.
“Am with her already and you’re not the one to tell me what to do,” he smirked.
Dave hold his fist in anger and punched the guy making him staggered back. He held Ann and dragged her out of the club.
“Dave…” She called
“Will you have to get yourself drunk.. that stupid guy would have take advantage of you, ” he yelled at her.
“That would have been better.. you know why, because I don’t love you even one bit,” she laughed then turn to leave but Dave dragged her back.
“Let’s get out of here,” he Carried her in a bridal style and take her to his car.
” Just let me go,” she h!t him but he closed the door and started the engine.
He wondered what would have happened if he haven’t showed up on time to save her.

Ann slowly open her eyes. It’s early in the morning and she was already having migraines.
“Where am I,” she muttered then open her eyes. This isn’t her room.
“You’re awake,” Dave said coming out of the bathroom with a towel tied around his waist, revealing his masculine chest and his wet spiky hair.
“What am I doing here” Ann quickly got down from the bed and noticed she was only in her b.ra and sweat pants. She quickly get hold of the duvet and cover herself with, feeling so embarrassed.
“You pe.rvert! What did you do to me? Did you take advantage of me because I was drunk. I knew it you’re just a monster and nothing else,” she yelled.
” Calm down.. I did nothing. I only did what was right because someone would have take advantage of you yesterday at the club,”
” And you brought me to your apartment so you could finish what the man started..?
” Am not like them Ann. I will never do such thing and what if I do that huh… ,” He said then moved close to her.
” I thought you’re my girlfriend or were you saying the truth when you said you don’t love me one bit yesterday? He asked staring intently at her.
Ann stood speechless, as she stare back, drooling at his body.
“Just speak out,” he said jolting her out of her fantasy.
“I was drunk! so why asking stupid question. If I don’t love you I wouldn’t have accept to be your girlfriend,” she seethed then picked up her dress and walked out of the room. She stood at the door and held her chest.
“That was close.. this isn’t a good game Ann. You don’t love him.. what if he get to find out this someday” she asked herself, feeling so worried.

Dave wondered what exactly is wrong with her because his instinct is telling him Ann is only with him for some reasons he doesn’t know but he hope she will reciprocate to his love because he genuinely loves her and wish she could understand that.
After dressing up he went out to the sitting room and meet her ready to leave.
“I have to go now. Anyway thanks for bringing me here but it’s your fault you know. We planned to meet there but you didn’t show up on time, what did you expect me to do rather than to drink and get myself drunk,”
” Am sorry. Something happened to Kamil yesterday and he need immediate treatment, we have to do our job especially me as his personal bodyguard,” he said while she nodded.
” Okay.. I have to go and dress up for work,” she said then turn leave but Dave grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her close to him.
“I really do love you Ann so get ride of whatever bad thought you have of me. I mean what I say.. you’re the only one right here..,” he said pointing to his chest.
” And I hope you aren’t playing with my emotions. Maybe it’s because is just a new relationship that’s why you aren’t too serious but am serious about you and I believe you won’t end up hurting me just the same way someone once did to my sister,” he said then let go of her hand and walked out.
Ann watch him leave.. she felt troubled in her heart…

Josie walked to and fro thinking about a lot of things. All this while he have a son somewhere that he doesn’t even know, maybe Sonia is just lying to him but he remembered what actually transpired between them.

Thirty years ago….
“Am getting married Sonia,” he broke the news to his girlfriend.
” Married to who? Broken Sonia asked.
“To Julianna Bernard. I told you this even before our relationship kicks off. This my father’s wish and I have to do it if really I want to take over the Montes-Tech. Dad just broke the news about the urgent wedding today,” he said sadly while Sonia hugged him in tears.
” But we love each other, you don’t have to listen to anyone…. Am the one you love and am the only one you should marry,” Sonia yelled at him.
” Am sorry our love story have to end this way,” he said then walked out. Sonia cried and vow to have Josie to herself no matter what.

Josie and Julianna got married as their parents wanted but after the wedding they kept so much distance in their home like the strangers they were. Julianna so much hate the marriage and Josie.

Getting married to someone she doesn’t even know, talk more of loving him is the worst nightmare and she hate everything about him. Even after few months of the marriage Josie kept a close communication with Sonia, they always chat and Sonia will always tell him to divorce Julianna and marry her instead but he hesitate in doing that. He want to make it work by giving it a try.
