Episode 66
Nadine stop in front of his mansion , she knows he will be going to work this morning and she will get to see him by all means.
How she got to know the address was a long process for her because following through what he said yesterday about having an orphanage she went there because she knew she might atleast get his address here in Manila.
“I want to see Mr Ethan.. ,” she said to the security guard when he came out and open the gate.
“I don’t think you have an appointment with him and even if you do it should be at his office and not his house, ” the guard said.
” I just want to talk to him just this once.. please, ” Nadine pleaded.
” I have to ask him then, ” the security guard said as he locked the gate and walked back inside to ask his boss.
Lorenzo was having his breakfast when the guard walked in.
“Am sorry Sir a lady out there want to see you with the name Nadine Montes, ” he said.
” I have a tight schedules today and you know in few days I will returning back to California, I have a lot to fix before leaving so I don’t want to ruin my day by talking to her. Tell her am not available, ” he said while the security guard went back and told Nadine the same thing he was told.
“He will be leaving soon..” Nadine Wondered.
” Just a few minutes discussion, ” Nadine insisted.
Immediately a car made a horn and stopped as Gemma came out from the car, she was surprised to see Nadine.
“How quick for her to visit him this early morning and how did she even knows he lives here? Gemma Wondered.
“What’s going on here? Gemma asked.
” She keep insisting to see the boss even when he declined that, ” the guard said.
” Then leave! He doesn’t want to see you,” Gemma said to her.
“I just want to speak to him for a few minutes. Please I know you can talk to him and he will listen to you, ” Nadine pleaded with her.
” Don’t you think is too early to act innocent by trying to snatch away my man from me. You’ve just meet him yesterday and now you’ve got the address to his house and you came this morning. Are you really that cheap! Or let me say a wh®re. Is that the reason why you have a failed marriage and now being a single mother you want someone to fill in the gap…,” Gemma said harshly while Nadine sI.apped her.
” Atleast am not as stupid as you are.. and don’t ever speak that nonsense to my face or else I will put you in your right place,” Nadine warned angrily as she turn and left while Gemma held her cheeks in shocked.
“Did she just slapped me,” Gemma asked no one in particular.
“Open the gate,” she yelled at the guard while he quickly open the gate for her and she drove in with her car.

Lorenzo who stood at the balcony and watched everything that happened. He Wondered what Nadine has in mind to tell him. Maybe he should just give her a chance to talk to him.

“Did you just saw what your good for nothing ex did to me,” Gemma barged in anger as she stood beside him.
” You talk too much Gemma. Leave Nadine out of this. I choose you myself so why bothering yourself with her,” he said.
” I just want to protect you…
“I don’t need your protection Gem, all I need is your love but I also don’t want a love full of insecurity and nagging. I want peace and I hope you can give me that. So please avoid Nadine she has done nothing to you,” he said and with that he walked passed her while Gemma sighed.
“But Lorenzo… You have to round up whatever business you have left here.. we are going back to California,” she said as she rushed after him while Lorenzo kept mute.

Nadine returned back to the office looking so sad as she remembered what happened earlier.
“Maybe I shouldn’t have slapped her,” she thought.
“But that serves her right.. she barely knows me so why was she talking that way about me? Nadine Wondered.
A thought came to her mind as she thought of Tessa. Ethan’s secretary. She still have her contact, she got that when she was in California.
“Maybe she can be of help,” Nadine thought.
“Nadine,” Josie walked in to her office.
“Were you able to see him? He asked.
” No dad,” she sighed sadly.
“Well we just received an email this morning to see him in his office.
“Really? Nadine asked surprised as she quickly log into her computer and check the email.
“It about the contract he want to sign,” Josie said while Nadine heaved a sigh of relief.
” We will go there then” she said.

” That’s because you’ve destroyed my life. I so much hate you dad! Austin yelled at his father.
“Am not as bad you think Austin I only raise you the way you actually wanted. And remember you once klled Dianne so are you gonna keep calling me your mother’s kller or have me arrested? Adams yelled back at him.
“I never klled Dianne intentionally, everything that happened was a mistake,” he scoffed.
” So even putting the blames on Lorenzo was a mistake too! Adams asked as he laughed sarcastically.
“Stop calling me the d’vil because you are worst than me and what about Lorenzo’s dead, was it also a mistake that you klled him? Adams asked while Austin was shocked to hear that. He thought it was only him and Leonard that knew about Lorenzo’s de.ath.
“I’ve heard your conversation several times with Leonard and I knew you had a hand in what happened to Lorenzo but I never talk or tell anyone about it.. why because Lorenzo is of no use to me so he’s better off dead. So you see am not the only kller but you,” he snarled while Austin kept quiet as he recalled the man he saw that the party.
He was privilege to meet Mr. Marcel Ronald and Mr. Marcel promise to connect him with Ethan to give him a job in his company.
Austin stepped out of the house in anger and hailed a cab to the address he was given.

Austin sat down opposite to Lorenzo in the office as he watched him, his heart was beating fast.
“Are you really sure you are competent? If you’re really that then your company wouldn’t had crumbled.
I need intelligent, organized and well mannered workers in my company and not someone like you.. or should i say a kller like you” Lorenzo said while Austin’s eyes widened in shocked.
“Oh.. I mean a failure like you,” Lorenzo corrected while Austin stood up in anger.
“You don’t have to disrespect and insult me this way,” he said.
” But then let me help you,” Lorenzo smirked while Austin looked at him.
Somehow his guts is telling him this is actually Lorenzo but he chose not to believe it because he knows Lorenzo is definitely dead.
“I have documents of your company and also that of your mansion. You all sale it to me through Marcel but am willing to give you back without collecting a dime from you if you serve me well at home. Probably to be my maid,” Lorenzo said.
” You’re giving it back to me without collecting a dime? Austin asked while Lorenzo nodded.
“It’s a deal! Interested…?
“Deal! I will do anything you ask me of, if only I can have my company back. Mom will be so happy for me,” Austin said happily.
” Okay then, you’ll start the work tonight. I will sent a driver to pick you to my house,” he said while Austin stormed out happily.
If being Ethan’s maid will make him have his company for free then he would do anything.
“But why did you really look like Lorenzo! He thought but waved it off.
“Poor Lorenzo is rotting in h’ll with his family. He will never be this rich in his entire life. I know Mr. Ethan just happens to look like him. This the best way I will bounce back and I will destroyed Nadine and Miguel,” he smirked.

” That’s it Austin.. you’ve always been a f.ool! It’s a pay back but yours will be in double.
I once serves you and now it’s my turn for you to serve me well before getting you arrested,” Lorenzo said to himself with a smirk, he knows exactly how use Austin.

Few minutes Later…
Nadine and Josie came to his office as they were told in the e-mail.
“I actually want you to come here so we could finalize the whole thing,” Lorenzo said while Josie hand him the file.
” It took you this long to consider this. This business and this will also benefit your company, on one works with he Montes-Tech and get disappointed,” Josie said.
” But am disappointed already. I don’t think I will want to have anything that had to do with you or the company or your family,” Lorenzo said.
” So deal is over,” he said icily as he stood up.
” Is that the reason why you have to call us here? How unprofessional ! Nadine said so pissed off.
“Or is it because you’re Lorenzo you wanna pay back? She scoffed.
” And who is this Lorenzo? He asked
” Stop pretending as if you don’t know anything,” Nadine said.
“I have a lot to do Miss Nadine. So excuse me if you don’t have anything tangible to say. Am done wasting my time with you here,” he said as he walked out of the office while Nadine looked at him surprised. She quickly turn to follow him but Josie stopped her.
“Let him be,” he said.
“Just like that! Nadine scoffed as quickly rushed out but before she got downstairs he has already left.
“Miss Nadine! Are you looking for someone? Tessa his secretary asked.
“Glad I just meet you,” Nadine said.
“I want us to talk please. I know you might not tell me anything because it confidential to you but I really need your help,” Nadine said while Tessa knew it has to do with Ethan.
Now that Gemma seems to be in the picture she knows the only thing that can come in between them is Nadine!

“Make sure you wash it well,” Lorenzo said to Austin as he showed him the heap of clothes to wash.
” And make sure you don’t use the washing machine. If you’re done you should leave, I will call you tomorrow for another work,” Lorenzo said while Austin nodded.
” And why were you looking at me as if you’ve seen a ghost? He asked.
“You look like someone I know,” Austin said.
” like Lorenzo and everyone keep wondering if you’re actually the one,” Austin said waiting to hear his reply.
” And who is this Lorenzo to you? Where is he?
” He’s dead. He’s just a poor unfortunate orphan picked by my late mom,” Austin said.
” Oh! Sorry about that,” Lorenzo fold his fist in anger. He knew even till now Austin still hate Lorenzo.

Lorenzo walked back to his room and poured some champagne in a glass cup as he sipped from it.
“Leonard!!!! Yours is coming in a grand style” he thought of the best way to handle Leonard.
” Am your biggest nightmare and I will make sure I kll you myself,” he muttered to himself in rage…

Days Later…?
Leonard paced to and fro in his office waiting for a feed back.
“Are you really sure he isn’t Lorenzo? Leonard asked Austin who was seating down.
“I don’t think so because if he’s really the one then he would have tell me”.
” Now this the only chance i’ve got to to get my company back and to do whatever he ask me to do,” Austin said while Leonard laughed sarcastically.
” Don’t be fooled Austin. We can’t just relax and continue to see that man as Ethan. You knew Lorenzo so well back then and we all know he have no brother or another family who look like him? Leonard said.
“Are you insuinating that Lorenzo is still alive and he’s Mr. Ethan? Austin asked.
“That’s the point and I will make sure I find it ou myself,” Leonard said while Austin stood up trying to fix the puzzle.
“Lorenzo.. but we klled him ourselves… How manage? And even if he’s alive he can’t be Mr. Ethan. Never! How did he get this far ? His mind was filled with different thoughts as he feared what they future might hold for them.

“Enzo! Nadine called while he looked up to her and their eyes darted over each other, staring back at him- his features, footsteps and cold aura. Her heart melted at his sight and she smiled.
” He’s Lorenzo,” she thought within her as she walked to where he was standing beside his car.
“Glad I meet him here on time,” Nadine said to herself as she checked the time and noticed it was 7pm. She had to rushed down to his office to see if she can see him.
“What did you want? He asked.
“Why are you avoiding me? Enzo! She said the last word moving closer to him until she could feel his breathe on hers.
“Stop it Nadine! This is not Lorenzo,” he said as he turn to leave but she pulled him back.
“Look straight to my eyes and tell me that.. tell me you aren’t the Lorenzo I once loved..,” she said softly as she stare at him intently.
“And now i know the ‘E’ in your business is actually Enzo and not Ethan. My heart can never lie about this,”
” You’ve destroyed everything from the day you rejected me right to my face Nadine. I have no business with you again,” he said.
” So you’re Lorenzo…? Nadine asked her eyes filled with tears.
“I was the poor Lorenzo you knew back then but now is a total different person!
Nadine just stood there in shocked as she stare back at him. He’s actually Lorenzo.. how did he survived? What happened to him all these years? And how did he achieved this much after all these years? So many questions ran through her mind. She don’t know if she’s to feel happy that her long dead lover and the father of her son is still alive after seven years.
“Enzo,” Nadine burst into tears as she quickly pull him into a tight hugged.
“Enzo…,” She wept.
Lorenzo just stood there as he let her be, he try not to let the past get in his head.
“I have to go now,” he said as he gently pulled away from the hug.
” A lot has happened.. why didn’t you came back for…
“You have no right to ask me that question Nadine. I have no one to come back to because it was literally everyone against me.
Do you know how difficult it was for me to watch you reject me then get marry to another man? I was easily replaced because I never meant anything to you. Just admit it Nadine, your love was just filled with broken promises and lies,” he said angrily.
” A lot has happened Enzo and I choose to take the blame for it all.. but whatever that happened back then was because of the situation and pressure around.
I couldn’t stand it when I caught you on bed with that lady and I couldn’t stand it when dad wanted to disowned me and when I was pre..
“But you never listened to me.. you never gave me the chance to explain anything. It’s all over now Nadine. I’ve moved on and I hope you’ll do the same,” Lorenzo said as he turn to leave.
” I know I have made a mistake Enzo but everything got more confusing to me when I found out that I was pregnant..,” she said while he stood on his track when he heard that.
“I discovered I was pregnant with our child,” she blink back her tears while he turned to face her.
“What did you mean? He whispers.
” Eric is our son. Am sorry I didn’t get to tell you this when I first discovered I was pregnant…
“He is Leon’s son. Stop making things complicated for us,” he said.
” Am serious Enzo. A lot has happened and we all thought you were death but even in death I never forgot you not even for once but you didn’t even showed up for us, ” Nadine sniffled.
” And what did you expect me to do when I have no one to returned to..,” Lorenzo spoke back angrily as his mind went back to the night he had with Nadine back then. It was a night never to forgotten when they first made love to each other…
“Does that mean you married Leonard when you were pregnant with the child? He asked while Nadine nodded. He fold his fist in anger as he watched her.
“I know I was wrong Lorenzo and i should have tell you about the pregnancy but the day I decided to tell you the truth was the day we all thought you died,” she whimpered.
” That’s not an excuse Nadine! If truly you were pregnant then despite the fact that we have our own issues you should have tell me everything because I deserves to know the truth, I deserve to know everything and you getting married to that man and allowing him to father my child! ” Lorenzo sneered.
” Am sorry Enzo,”Nadine pleaded as she tried to touched him but he stopped her as he grabbed her arms roughly.
“You’ve ruin my life and if I should tell you who my kller was you will be surprised because it your good for nothing husband Leonard that did that to me! What type of mother are you who deprived the father from knowing his own child,” he yelled back at her as he tighten his grip on her arm.
“You’re hurting me Lorenzo,” Nadine try to free herself from his grip but he pushed her back roughly..
“If actually what you said is true and not because you want to get my attention then you’ve failed as a mother just exactly the way your father failed as a father,”
” Quit it Lorenzo! Am not telling you this to get your attention or anything. Eric is our child and am only telling you this because this is something I should have done a long time ago.
You have no right to judge me because you don’t know what I’ve been through. I and Eric are doing just fine and we don’t need you in our lives! Nadine said angrily as she ran out in tears while Lorenzo watch her leave in tears.
“I have a child all this while? He Wondered if Nadine was actually telling him the truth.

Nadine went back to her car as she get in and let out her tears.
“It’s obvious Lorenzo hate me now,” she cried as she recalled the past… Years, situations and circumstances has drifted them apart and now the Lorenzo she’s seeing is different from the one she once knew…
