Episode 67
“And you believed her? Gemma yelled at him.
“This is actually what I was afraid of when you came here.. getting to meet your so called ex and now foul stories are coming up that her son is yours, ” Gemma growl while Lorenzo just watch her from where he was seating. He actually came back home that evening so sad about everything.
He felt guilty, maybe he shouldn’t have talk to Nadine that way and now coming back home to tell Gemma she blew hot looking so angry about it.
“Am not looking for your opinion Gemma am only telling you this because I thought you’re the only friend I can share this with and probably you can understand me,” he said.
” I know that but why do I feel all these is happening to separate us again? Gemma asked as she walked closer to him and held his hand.
“I love you and I can’t imagine my life without you. Nadine is just toying with your feelings, get your things ready and let’s go back home. This isn’t your home Lorenzo,” She said with a sad face.
” It’s okay! I just want to be alone,” he said as he stood up and walked to his room.
” He’s gradually slipping away,” Gemma said stood up looking all so troubled.

“Maybe am actually not a good mother and don’t even deserves to be one, I feel like a failure mom, a total failure who has failed you as a daughter, failed Leonard as a wife, failed Lorenzo too and even failed my son,” Nadine cried while her mom pulled her into a hug.
” No Montes is a failure Nadine so stop saying that. Leonard left because he wasn’t part of your life from the very beginning, Same with Lorenzo too and if actually you two are meant to be I believe it will certainly happen.
You’ve never failed us Nadine because all your life you’ve always make us your priority and choose us first as your family and as for Eric I think you’re the best mother to him.
So quit all those nasty thought. You’re strong Nadine and I believe this phase shall pass,” Julianna cooed.
” He’s Lorenzo, my Enzo.. but he doesn’t even believe what I said,” Nadine whimpered.
” A lot has happened Nadine and if you can’t settle your difference with him then let it go so you can stop getting hurt.
Like I always say you and Lorenzo are now two different people and it will only take a good heart for you to accept each other.
Just let go of the hurt, pains and everything and I wish he will also do the same so you can be together with your love again and not only for Eric’s sake but because you and him were meant to be from the onset,” she said while Nadine nodded.

Nadine kept tossing and turning on the bed, she couldn’t sleep that night as she kept reflecting her meeting with Lorenzo and what he told her. She watched Eric sleeping peacefully beside her and she smile sadly.
“It’s just the two of us now Eric. Your dad doesn’t even believe you’re his son and I won’t blame him for that.
I blame myself for everything, i take all the blame and am suffering the consequences,” she said quietly as she stood up and walk to the window, staring at the sky.
Everything seems so void to her as the stars are missing from the sky, every moment feels incomplete, dull and boring.
She recalled what Lorenzo told her about Leonard been his kller.
“How true is that? She thought. She knew the kind of person Leonard was, he would do everything to have what he wants simply because he thinks no one can stop him.
“How did he survived the fire? So many things to be unveil,” she thought.

Leonard paced to and fro as one of his men gave him some papers.
” From our research he was taken in by Mr. Dante Oliveriz in California seven years ago,” he said while Leonard read the papers.
“It’s possible he’s the Lorenzo you once thought you murdered because Mr Ethan has no family and …
” No! Leonard clinched his fist in anger, his countenance changed as he felt so disappointed, having mixed feelings and looking all scared.
“What are his plans? Leonard widen his eyes in shock.
If definitely he’s Lorenzo then he have to act fast before Lorenzo do that. He knew Lorenzo is back for them and this time with so much power and money that can destroy him.
“What about Nadine! He thought as he felt his heart skip a beat.
” I can’t let them be together again. If am not having Nadine to myself again then no one will and Eric..,” he thought with a smirked.
” I have to get rid of him,”
” Call your boys and be smart about this.. I want you to kidnapp Eric for me tomorrow,” he said as he picked an enlarged frame photo of Eric on the table and gave it to him.
” Just be smart and keep a close watch on the Montes family. Nadine and her dad usually go to work so I guess Eric stays with Julianna…
“But we can’t infiltrate their mansion boss. The security there is tight we might get caught which can implicate you again” the man said while Leonard sI.apped him.
” Keep quiet and do as I said. Am paying you for this so do your job well and bring the boy to me after all he was once my son and I want him back. Haha.. having Eric in my custody this time will bring Nadine more close to me and probably Lorenzo will try to show up if he knows of that… It’s time I face my biggest nightmare “Lorenzo” and am not backing out of this fight because I must get back what actually belong to me and that’s Nadine!
“Now go and do your job,” he said while the man quickly left.
” If I get to have Eric in my custody this time I will make sure I lure Nadine into my den, I know she will come for her son and from there we will leave to a better country to start afresh again just me and her and as for Eric I will sent his dead body back to his father.. how wonderful! Leonard laughed crazily as he stared at himself in the mirror.
“Mr Ethan is actually Lorenzo,” the thought of that changed his countenance as scared was written all over his face.
” Am not gonna back down without a fight,” he was certain about that.
” Am just confused Marcel,” Lorenzo said to him in the office.
” So are you just gonna abandon her and your son? Am sure the little boy doesn’t even know his dad,” Marcel said.
” Nadine have all it takes to take care of her son,” Lorenzo said.
” You still don’t believe her? Then you can request for a DNA test and know for yourself before it’s too late. You don’t have to keep holding unto that pain and anger Lorenzo.
Everyone left including Nadine as you said but it was never her wish I think so. Fate is a tickle mistress that can turn tables around.
Your son need you now atleast you have to protect him from Leonard before he strikes hard. Am sure Leonard is angry with Nadine and if he get to know you’re Lorenzo he will hurt you starting from your son then with Nadine,” Marcel said while Lorenzo looked at him.
” Don’t keep delaying things. You might never know what you have until you lose. You’ve lose Nadine once and you’ve miss out in all these years of your son’s life and if I were you now, this the right time to set things right and to be with my real family again.
Nadine and Eric are the only family you have left on this earth and if you let the enemy wipe them out this time just the way they did to your family years ago then am afraid you might never recover from the pain,” Marcel said.
” You keep talking as if you know if actually the boy is my son? Lorenzo wondered.
“The DNA test will tell,” Marcel shrugged.
” And Gemma? Lorenzo asked.
“The heart will always find it’s destination because it knows where it belongs to,” he said then stood up and left.

Marcel’s words kept ringing in his head.
” He’s right. Nadine will never lie about that,” he said to himself…
Lorenzo picked up his car key and drove straight to the Montes Mansion.

Nadine called surprised to see him when she was called out by the security guard to go and see him outside.
“What are you doing here? She asked with straight face.
” To see my son,” he said.
“Your son! Nadine scoffed.
“I thought you said you don’t believe me!
” Am not here for agrument Nadine. Am requesting for a DNA test after all to clear the doubt,” he said.
” Like seriously! So you don’t believe me or you actually think am gonna pin you down with a child. Quit it Lorenzo.. I can take care of Eric alone and we don’t need a single dime from you…,” She yelled but was shocked when Lorenzo pulled her close and shut her lips with a kss.
Nadine eyes widen in shocked as she quickly pushed him away.
“What was that…
” If you dare say a single word I will kss you again, am serious,” he spoke softly, his gaze getting more intently.
Nadine open her mouth to speak but closed it back when nothing came out. She jolted when she felt his hand on her cheeks.
“Can I see Eric now… Please,” he cooed while Nadine nodded and walked back in to call him.
Lorenzo smiled, indeed his tricks worked on her, he knows if Nadine should continue talking they might end up getting into another heated argument and the best way to shut her up is through that kss. He don’t know what pushed him to do that but he missed that cheerful Nadine he use to see back then. He regretted his actions the other time and this time he never want to hurt her again.
Nadine came out with Eric behind her.
For the first time Lorenzo gaze was on Eric as he stared at him while Eric stared back.
“Is he my daddy? his face look familiar,” Eric asked as he look back at Nadine.
Lorenzo squat down to meet up with Eric’s height.
“Eric! He called with a smile.
” Wishes do come true son, your dad is here,” Nadine said to him while Eric looked back at him.
” Daddy! Eric said with excitement.
For the first time someone just call him daddy! His heart melted seeing the happy face on Eric.
“It took you so long to come back to us… I thought you’ve abandon us but mummy say you love us and will always watch over us,”
” Am back Eric and this time am back for good,” Lorenzo smile as he ruffle his hair. His intentions was to get a few strand of his hair for a DNA test but seeing Eric right in his arms, he felt the connection.
“My daddy is back! Eric smiled while Lorenzo hugged his little body. Nadine watched in tears as father and son reunite, her joy knew no bound. Eric is so happy now.

“Grandpa and Grandma will be so happy to see you, I will tell Lily and Sharon about this first thing tomorrow morning.. let go inside,” Eric held his hand while Nadine looked at Lorenzo.
Going inside the house was something Lorenzo didn’t want to do but he have to do it not to disappoint the little boy.

” Lorenzo! Josie and Juliana were surprised to see him when he entered.
Seeing Josie his countenance change to a frown.
“This my real daddy just as mom use to tell me grandma,” Eric said so excited While Julianna nodded with a smile.
“Mr Josie… ,” Lorenzo said.
“Am only here to see my son,” he said while Josie nodded.
” I know you are still angry with me by being a big a obstacle..
“You don’t have to say anything. You can’t change the past, you can’t change the pains and hurt I’ve gone through and this apology or whatever you want to do doesn’t matter because right from the beginning you’ve been the one that caused all the problems we are having today. My intentions for your daughter starting from the beginning was pure, genuine and from the depths of my heart but you have never see me as a human, you prefer Leonard from a rich family who you think can take care of your daughter but that’s where you act like a foolish man because it was the same Leonard that tried to kill me, yet he end up fathering my child, Nadine couldn’t tell you about Eric’s pregnancy because am sure you will ask her to abort it simply because it’s my child. Your insults and rejection have made me who am i today but one thing I want you to know is that you’ve caused a lot of damaged that cannot be repaired and till now I hate you for that,” Lorenzo said then turn to Eric.
” Some other time Eric. I have to go now,” he said before leaving while everywhere was silence. Mr Josie sat back sadly as he looked at Nadine.
“Don’t let what Lorenzo said get into your head, he’s just hurting, he didn’t meant it from his heart,” Nadine cooed.
” No Nadine he’s right! I should be blame for everything that is happening now. I was blinded with the wealth I have and the one I want to acquire, that I don’t even care about your feelings. I have been a bad father and I wish Lorenzo can forgive me for every pain I’ve caused him in the time past,” he said sadly..

Few hours Later..
” Eric!
Nadine called as she walked to his room.
” I thought you’ll be gonna be happy seeing your dad?
” of course am happy mom but why did he have to leave so early, I thought he’s here to stay with us and not to leave us again,” Eric pout.
” He’s just busy with some other things Eric..
” Busy! Is that thing better than us. I thought we are more important than anything to him?
“Of course we and I believe with time things will get better, ”
” Sure! Am so happy to see daddy, maybe if he didn’t come next time then we should go to him,” Eric smiled while Nadine nodded.
” Mom hope you are going to my school speech and prize party day tomorrow. It’s a school celebration organised by the school and I will get to see my classmates for the last time.
I will definitely be awarded as the first in my class and since dad is here I will like him to come so we can snap pictures together as family.. right?,” he said while Nadine laughed.
” How cute tomorrow will be. I will be there Eric,” she smiled.
” And dad? He asked
“He have to come.. please mommy maybe we should call and tell him now.. I forgot to tell him that earlier because I thought he’s back to stay with us,”
” I will tell him that and I know if he’s chance he will definitely show up,”
” Thank you Mommy! Eric jumped on her body and hugged her.
“I will get to show everyone my daddy tomorrow in school, ” he said so excited While Nadine smiled. Eric is so happy about this! She hope that it’s a beginning of something new in their lives even thou she’s so worried of what the future holds for them.

“I want the result to be out as soon as possible,” Lorenzo said as he gave Dr. Franco the sample of his hair and that of Eric’s for the DNA test.
“Consider it done Sir,” Franco said while Lorenzo returned back home that evening thinking about his visit.. Eric was so happy to see him, despite all that happened and the way he talks- seems like Nadine always speak good of him to the boy.

Marcel’s voice echoed in his head as he remembered what he told him.
He missed Nadine and wish to be part of his son’s life. This the time to act right and take down all the enemies within.

Lorenzo reached home and was surprised to see Austin washing the cars…
“You’re doing a good job Austin” he said as he walked closer to him.
” Am keeping my end of the bargain, it’s a deal remember so I have to do it well and to prove to you am competent for anything,” Austin said.
” You seems so desperate to get your company back..
” I just want to bounce back to the old Austin I was before my mom died. She worked so hard for that company and I will never be at peace if it just go like that.
I have humble myself to do this because I want to redeem myself and get back what belongs to me and am glad you’re willing to help,” Austin said while Lorenzo laughed sarcastically.
” And what about your dad? He asked.
” I don’t have a dad. Let just say am an orphan now who just want to be at the top again. I hate my dad and I don’t even want to see him again,” he said.
” And Miguel and Nadine your friends?
“They are not my friends but enemies now. It obvious that Miguel is happily married to Cassie and is only focus on work and his family and Nadine I know she will soon get back together with her ex husband because he loves her and want her back” Austin said as he looked at Lorenzo wondering why he was asking such sensitive questions.
“And Eric? Your nephew,” he asked while Austin eyes widened in shock.
” We all know he’s your late adopted brother’s son,” he said.
“How did you know that? Austin asked.
” Or are you still hating on the poor boy? Remember he’s innocent,” Lorenzo said.
” And why are you speaking like that? Austin asked as he sense something fishy.
“You’re doing a good job already but am afraid you won’t get your company at the end of all these,” Lorenzo smirked while Austin dropped the napkin he was holding and face Lorenzo.
“Are you going back on your words! is that one of your cheap tricks to lure me into working for you for nothing? Austin asked angrily.
“I own everything now Austin.. and everything you need is with me and even your life and freedom is in my hands now,” Lorenzo said while Austin countenance changed, he felt it as if it Lorenzo talking to him and not actually Mr. Ethan Harris.
“Why…? Austin whispers feeling so tensed up already.
“Because your mansion isn’t with Mr. Ethan Harris Oliveris but with Lorenzo Harris your adopted brother that you once murdered,” he said while Austin staggered back in surprised leaning on the car behind him.
“Lorenzo!
” Yes brother,” Lorenzo answered.
“You are d.ead…,” Austin whispers.
“I won’t mind watching you die Austin because you’ve done nothing but cause me pains and hated me.
You pushed Dianne off the bridge and pushed the blame on me and you still plan with Leonard and Amber to destroy my relationship with Nadine, you klled Amber too and it’s time for you to pay,” Lorenzo sneered while Austin open his mouth to talk but couldn’t day anything.
“How unpredictable life can be,” Austin thought trying to hold back the tears in his eyes. He knew Lorenzo have every reason to be angry and even destroy him for all the eviI things he has done to him.
“I know I never like you Lorenzo but my mom did, she took you in and gave you everything you need is this how ungrateful…,” He couldn’t even finish saying that when Lorenzo held him tight and Punched him so hard on his face making him to bleed at once.
“I’ve always been grateful to Mrs Pinna because she was the only one that loved and believe in me and it’s still her Restaurant am running it well in the US. Don’t be too dumb Austin because you’re nothing like your mother,”
Lorenzo pulled him and pvnched him again pushing him down to the floor.
“It’s a payback time and I want you to confess to Miguel what actually transpired between you and Dianne and how you pushed her off the bridge and not me, I also want you to confess to Nadine how you and Leonard paid Amber to drugged me just to spoil my relationship with Nadine and it will go viral so that everyone will know how evil you are and as for your dad he’s already arrested.
He will pay for being the culprit behind Mrs Pinna dead. She will finally get the justice that she deserves, and you will also rot in jail so that the poor Lorenzo you once murdered will also get justice because this a different version of your adopted brother,” Lorenzo said while Austin groan in pains as he touched his lips and felt bI.ood dripping from there.
Immediately the gate open and a three cars drove in. It was the cops as they hand-cuffed Austin and pushed him to the car.
“You should get set officer, tomorrow is for Leonard,” Lorenzo said while the cop nodded…
