Parents’ Forum Builds Medical Center for Caleb University

The Parents’ Forum of the Caleb University Imota, has handed over the medical centre it built and furnished to the management of the institution. The group also donated an ambulance to tackle medical emergencies.

The Medical Centre is equipped with nurses’ changing rooms, theatre halls, male and female wards, alternative power generating system, access facilities for the physically challenged and aged, water treatment plant and a medical.

Vice Chairman, Caleb University Parents Forum (CUPF), Mr. Oritseweyinmi Boyo, said it was the parents’way of complementing the university’s efforts.

“Caleb Parents, as partners in progress with Management, decided to complement the great efforts of the school, by donating the state-of-the-art medical centre and ambulance, as a model of primary health care facility,” he said.

Taking delivery of the facility last Wednesday at a ceremony streamed across social media platforms, Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Nosa Owens Ibie, expressed gratitude to the parents.

“The university reckons that the medical centre, located at a strategic position on the Imota, Lagos Campus, could not have come at a better time as it will go a long way in strengthening the institution’s primary healthcare delivery system,” he said.

Also, the university’s Medical Officer, Dr. Clinton Okonye, said the gesture had afforded Caleb University another world-class facility that would ensure that members of the community receive the best possible medical and health service delivery.

“We are extremely grateful to our parents for helping to make this a reality within the shortest possible time.”
