“How can you say such a thing ,we really need your help ,we can’t just come here in vain ,we can’t wait for 24 hours, please just help ,ken pleaded with the two cops , who didn’t want to link his complain to the commissioner.
They had arrived the station an hour ago , pleading with the cops to let them speak with the commissioner so that help can be rendered but, the cops bluntly refused saying it was too late to go see the commissioner or go on a search for who they were looking for ,it hadn’t even completed 24 hours ,so they can’t possibly declare the person missing
“With due respect sirs we cannot grant your ,it’s already late to go on any search ,one of the cop replied.
“Don’t tell me that sht, what’s your problem two lives are at stake here and all you can say is it’s too late to go on a search ,are you guys even going to tag along,just inform your boss and let him render us the help we need ,ken yelled angrily as he was already frustrated.
“Calm down ken ,I guess we have tried enough talking ,relax I will handle it, David said then brought out his mobile phone and dialed a number .
The cops stared at David silently as he discussed on the phone with the unknown ,few minutes later he hanged up .
“Who was that ,ken asked curiously.
“Someone that will handle everything with seconds , David replied then smirked , immediately they heard the steps coming from behind ,they both turned around and saw a man who looked like he was in his late thirties ,he was wearing a completely different uniform from the other two men ,he must be the commissioner , cause the two men immediately regarded him in the normal way .
“Good evening Mr Beverly and Mr Dele Rosa ,it’s a pleasure to have you here , please come with me to my office ,the commissioner said then directed ken and David to his office but stopped and turned towards the two cops with a frown .”Don’t let me remind you to drop your resignation letter before dawn , please this way sirs .They all left leaving the two cop speechless .
“I am very sorry for such trouble those men put you through ,so please state your emergency ,the commissioner said immediately he got seated.
“My daughter and his son is missing , people said they fell into the ocean next to the bridge after a truck almost hit them ,ken briefly explained there wasn’t much time left .
“Alright sir give me a minute ,the commissioner said,he brought out his phone and quickly made a call instructing a group of police to report to his office immediately.
“They will soon be here just exercise some patience ,the commissioner said ,ken nodded but he wasn’t as patient as he looked ,he was restless , Karen was somewhere probably not safe for her ,coupled with her present condition ,he doesn’t even know if she is truly safe or not .
Few minutes later ,some cops walked in all armed and ready for the operation ,”sir we are ready and set to leave ,one of the men said .
“Alright , please sirs lead the way ,the commissioner gestured .ken and David got up and walked out of the office ,with the office s tailing behind them and so was the commissioner .

THIRTY MINUTES LATER…..
Soon they got to the bridge ,the commissioner instructed few men to close down the road for the night , and also keep watch for anyone that passes by for some interrogation.
“Sir there’s hardly any shore here ,they must have swimmed further if they really fell into the water ,one of the men reasoned .
“Yes you are right , it’s too late to even board a boat ,I suggest we go for an helicopter ,the commissioner said everyone agreed seeing it was a good idea and also the fastest.
“Well then put a call across anyone who has an helicopter,I really need to see my daughter ,ken said impatiently ,his voice filled with anxiety.
“Don’t worry sir ,the station has its own private helicopter , and it will be here soon just relax your self a bit ,the commissioner said assuringly .

20 minutes later, three helicopters arrived , everyone set in ken and David also tagged along , and so their search began ,the three helicopters spread into different angles .
The search lasted for about an hour ,but they couldn’t find anyone ,so they decided to retreat and return the next day ,but ken was adamant ,he didn’t agree with such decision knowing his daughter wasn’t safe and in a very critical condition ,he couldn’t imagine himself returning home without Ariel, what is he going to explain to Kim and Kathrine .
“I can’t leave this place without my daughter ,ken argued .
“Ken try to understand ,it’s too late to keep on searching , tomorrow we continue , please don’t make matters worse ,my son is also missing and I am restless ,but at this point we really have to return , David tried talking some sense into Ken ,he reluctantly agreed to return home ,but tomorrow they must arrive very early.

“Mom please enough tears already , she’s going to be fine ,she will return home safely I can feel it ,stop crying ,it’s breaking my heart, Kathrine said with a teary voice as she kept preventing her tears from falling .
“I so sorry Kathy ,I am not supposed to be like this ,I am the who’s supposed to comfort you ,but I can’t help it ,after 16 long years I finally found your sister but now she’s gone again , Kimberly cried profusely not wanting to stop no matter how hard she tried.
“Mom , please stop crying , Karen is going to be fine , Dad is gonna bring her home to us , and she’s gonna be in perfect health not a scratch ,I promise you mom , Kathrine hugged her mother as she also bursted into tears .
She felt so scared ,what if Karen never returns , she wouldn’t be able to survive that ,but she has to be strong for her mother now , and make her feel positive but her mom isn’t helping .
Suddenly the door to the ward opened, Anastasia , and her two children Landon and Princess walked in , David had earlier on called to inform her about the crises she immediately hurried to the hospital after receiving the address from him ,at that time Princess and Landon were keeping her company at the office ,she was devastated to see Kim in such heartbreaking state ,she quickly rushed towards her pulling her into a tight hug.”it’s going to be fine “,she whispered into Kimberly’s ears ,that was one of her techniques to put someone crying into sleeping mode .
Kathrine stared at her drowsy mother ,she was already feeling sleepy , Anastasia’s plan really helped ,she wasn’t really focused on the other two people who entered untill it felt like someone was looking at her ,she turned to the direction and was shocked to see Landon ,her eyes widen as she continued to stare at him.
Landon was also suprised to see her there but he didn’t show it ,he took his face away after remembering all that she said to him .
“Lan , please call your dad , inform him that we are at the hospital , and ask him how the search is going , Anastasia said and Landon nodded before he excused himself.
“Aunt ,how long is she going to be asleep,I am sure she’s gonna have night mares , and I am so worried, Kathrine said with concern.
“I don’t know dear ,I just pray she sleeps without h©rrifying thoughts of Karen ,it would be dangerous if she did, and we both know that ,it’s surely going to cause nightmares,but we should always hope for the best , Anastasia replied .
“Take a break dear you look tired , Princess will keep you company ,go on ,if there’s any information I won’t hesitate to inform you okay , please go have some rest , Anastasia suggested , Kathrine having no choice accepted ,she left with Princess by her side .

“Are you done already , Ariel asked Jerald ,who was sweating profusely ,while lifting heavy rocks ,to form the word SOS .
“Yeah I think so ,just one more rock to go , Jerald replied back .he pushed one last huge rock to complete the others ,he the dusted his hands and came to sit with Ariel,at this time it was already late ,they could hardly see anything ,but Jerald was determined to set those rocks up ,or he might not get another opportunity.
“Nice work you did there , Ariel commented .
“Thanks ,we should head back to the spot ,so you could have something to eat , Jerald said .
He got up from the rock they were both sitting down,he took her hand in his ,he felt his heart skip as he held her soft hands ,he let go immediately not understanding what actually happened.
“Let’s go ,after you ,he gestured to Ariel who got up and started walking .
“Where did you get this fruits , Ariel asked curiously , dipping bananas into her mouth ,she was so hungry she just couldn’t control her appetite.
“I just saw their trees ,at each end I turned to , that’s where I got them ,but the banana leaves where what I first found,I was returning home but a thought niggled at me ,to get some food , because you may be hungry ,I actually thought that was why you were angry at me ,but I changed my mind .
“Oh really , maybe I was hungry at that time ,but that wasn’t the reason why I was angry ,I have never been so angry before , maybe it’s because the ba$tard that put me in this situation is enjoying himself now with his mother , since that’s all he ever wanted , Ariel spoke with so much venom that made Jerald shook lightly.
“I don’t really know the guy that did this to you and I don’t know why exactly he did so ,but I simply can’t judge him ,mom told me not to ,it’s wrong to judge people without listening to their own side of the story , there’s always two side of a story,I can only conclude that what he did was wrong , Jerald replied.
“Am glad you didn’t judge me , who’s your mom by the way ,she really thought you well , Ariel said.
“I don’t really know her that much ,I just woke a month ago and she was the first person I saw ,she cared for me like a mother would care for her son , and she said my name is Je……, Jerald paused as if realizing something.
“Oh my God , I haven’t called my mom today and it’s getting late, she’s going to be worried now ,I can’t even find my phone ,I must have left it in the car ,damn it .
“Oh sorry ,this is all my fault I shouldn’t have ran away from the hospital ,we wouldn’t be here now , Ariel said feeling remorseful.
“Don’t blame your self ,it’s not your fault it’s no one’s fault , don’t worry when I get out of here I will call her and explain things to her , don’t worry it’s getting late finish up and lay down you need to rest , Jerald said and Ariel nodded feeling happy all of a sudden .
