EARLIER THAT DAY……
Jerald and David were both in the office working on a primary project, David could sense that Jerald wasn’t paying attention to what he explained .”is something bothering you ,he asked with concern.
“No it’s nothing important , Jerald simply replied with a sigh .
“Really but your mood says other wise , David said.
Jerald sigh loudly as he sat back on his chair.”it’s about Karen ,he breathed out.
“What’s wrong , you can tell me, David urged .
“She still hasn’t said anything regarding my confession ,I don’t know why , maybe she doesn’t love me , Jerald said sadly.
“Of course she does ,she even let you name her babies ,she love you dear ,just be patient am sure she will come around , David said encouragingly.
“Thank you ,I pray she does ,I will be left broken if she doesn’t, Jerald replied.
“Why don’t you take the day off ,go see her , spend more time together ,you will feel better, David suggested , Jerald nodded finding the idea interesting .
“Thanks David,see you when I get back , Jerald said before leaving.
Getting to the park his stomach grumbled ,he had been hungry all this while yet he didn’t notice because of how occupied his mind was .
He decided to stop at a restaurant and have something to eat , before he would leave for Ariel’s house .
While driving he decided to play the car radio to feel alive ,he turned his eyes back on the road and almost immediately a female figure rushed towards his car in attempt of ending her life , Jerald screeched the car to ab halt and quickly got down to check if he had hit the lady .
He breathed a sigh of relief, seeing she was okay but in tears ,he helped her up and brought her to his car ,then drove to the restaurant .
“Are you okay ,he asked the lady who was still shedding tears .
“Am sorry sir ,I just wanted to end my life , please don’t take me to the police station,the lady begged.
“Don’t cry ,I won’t take you there , it’s just a restaurant , would you like to eat something , Jerald asked,the lady nodded her head in agreement.
Jerald got to the restaurant ,he ordered food for both of them before going back to his car .
“Have this ,I could get you more if you want, Jerald asked but the lady shook her head .”this is enough thank you very much sir .
“You are welcome ,urm what’s your name ?
“Adriana , that’s my name ,she replied.
“Alright Adriana ,why were you trying to kill your self , didn’t you think,you could have gotten me into trouble why would you do that, Jerald questioned.
“Am sorry sir ,I wasn’t thinking please forgive me,she pleaded innocently ,also sobbing.
“Why were you trying to kill yourself, he asked.
“Because life hasn’t been fair to me ,it’s a long story I don’t think you want to hear it , she replied.
“If you say so , just be careful okay .
“Won’t you have anything,she asked.
“No thanks you can have it all ,he replied ,he noticed she wasn’t eating much ,more like playing with the food .
“Aren’t you hungry , Jerald asked.
“I am but I can’t eat ,when the person who gave me food isn’t eating,she replied.
“Wow , that’s weird please eat I will just have a drink , Jerald said taking a milky drink he bought for them to drink .
He emptied the bottle and showed it to her ,”I have taken something ,now will you continue with your food , Jerald questioned with a raised brow.
“Yes I will thank you ,she replied now smiling , Jerald found her behavior strange but said nothing ,he got a little impatient waiting for her to leave ,he didn’t want to ask her to leave so that she won’t think bad about herself or even him.
“I don’t know my real parents, Adriana started getting Jerald’s attention .
I grew up on the streets,no orphanage accepted me ,I got bullied almost every time anywhere I went ,I found luck once ,a rich woman picked me up from the street ,she changed my life but her son made me go through he.ll ,he hated me so much and I didn’t know why , but after sometime he changed ,he appologized and treated me kindly and I fell in love with him ,but it was the biggest mistake of my life ,he was only pretending to love me ,he used me ,he played me ,I got heartbroken and ran away from the house ,that’s why I am here ,she narrated a story that felt so similar to something Jerald knew .
His head felt heavy ,a strong headache ,he closed his eyes because of the excess pain he was feeling ,he held is head to calm down but it wasn’t working ,then he heard a faint voice saying”just like Ariel “,this was Adriana .
Visions flashed through , memories of his past life , each and every thing that happened before he’s accident ,the more images the heavier his head became ,the pain was unbearable ,but then if finally
stopped , Adriana was gone no sign of her.
Jerald felt weak and confused ,he drove back home and meet David ,all he wanted was an explanation for all the lies he was told .
“What’s my real name, Jerald asked immediately , leaving him speechless, Anastasia came downstairs with princess and Landon ,they where on their way downstairs when they heard the question Jerald asked David.
“What are you talking about , Anastasia said immediately she got to where they both stood.
“I said what is my real name, Jerald asked again ,this time getting angry .
“Your name is Austin of course ,what is wrong with you is this a prank or something, David asked surprised this wasn’t the Jerald to spoke to hours ago.
“For the last time , what is my real name, Jerald groaned fisting his hands.
