?AFTER SCHOOL HOURS ?
? VALERIE’S POV?
The rest of the hours spent at school were fascinating.
I learnt new things but I couldn’t get the FOUR out of my mind.
Especially Harris
His smile, his nose, his mouth, his lips . I wanna touch them .
I kept thinking about him, his image showed in my face countless times.
I know maybe this is just a crush because he’s a singer .
But there is more to this.
I love Harris

IN THE BUS …?
“So, what do you think about Harris? Jennifer said focusing on her phone.
She sat next to me in the bus,the same spot where we sat in the morning.
Jeffery sat down with his friends,nerds like him .
“What do you mean by,what I think about Harris? I said with tone of blush.
“Hmmm,I know that babyish smile of yours,I’ve not gotten to know you so much but trust me I can say something about you, I know when you like someone…”. She cooed.
“Hey, who talked about liking Harris…I don’t like him”. I looked away.
“What? You can’t deny that, you know right? She raised her eyebrows.
“I meant I’m head over heels with him and I don’t like him “.
“Oh my gosh! Did you just say you’re in love with Harris Grayson”. She screamed facing me.
I covered her mouth instantly as everyone directed their gaze at me.
Luckily for me, we’re not much in the bus again so I was safe.
“Did I hear correctly? She whispered.
I smiled and nodded.
“You know who you’re battling with right? Autumn won’t take it easy with you when she finds out”
“That’s even if she finds out
“Girlfriend,but to be candid..you think Harris would look at you ”
“C’mon,I’m not saying I’m gonna ask him out or something”. I raised my eyeballs.
“Then what are you gonna do? Charm him?
“Don’t be ridiculous… Harris will soon notice me,it’s just a matter of time .
“Why Harris? Harris is the king of all girls in our school,he is totally different from us..and there are other guys in our class,like Jeffery”. She said laughed.
We looked at Jeffery who seemed so engrossed in what he was doing with his friend that he didn’t notice us.
“C’mon, Jeffery is like a brother to me
“And I’m you sister? How sweet! Finally,I found myself a sister”
She squealed.
“Shut up dumba$s”. I smacked her.
The bus halted as we alighted.

? JEFF’S POV?
“Okay,bye…” . I bade them goodbye as I ran towards Valerie and my twin sister.
There’s is this secret I’ve been keeping in my mind and it’s becoming a burden but I felt I should let you guys know about it.
I like Valerie.
It’s a gradual process and I hope it wont fade away .
I need to tell her about it actually.
“Unbelievable… seriously,I still fail to believe you like him”. I heard Jenny say .
I moved to their middle, placing my hands around their necks .
“So what are you guys talking about? I asked as they remained silent.
“What’s up with you two? C’mon tell me about it”. I asked
I really wanna know. I was curious. Who likes who?
“Nothing,why do you wanna know? Valerie shrugged her shoulder as she removed my hand from her neck.
“Valerie likes Harris Grayson”. Jennifer bursted out laughing as she ran away .
“Hey, Jennifer,that was supposed to be a secret between us”. She ran after Jennifer as they played, spraying water on themselves.
I paused for a second.
The girl I like,likes someone else.
Not just anybody.
But Harris Grayson.
I watched her smile. For the first time in my life,my heart beats for someone. I adjusted my glasses and wiped the little unbelievable tear coming from my left eye.
Why I’m I crying because of a lady.
Jeff, you’re a man..so man up.
You can have her if you want to . It takes strategies.
A voice said to me.
“C’mon Jeff,what are you doing, I’ll race you to my house”. Valerie shouted bringing me back to my senses.
“I’ll race you both…I’m very good at racing people”. Jennifer squealed.
They both dashed towards Valerie’s house. I dragged my feets tirelessly towards their compound.
“Girls,wait for me”. I shouted.

We got to my house breathing so hard. I was the first to reach our compound.
“Told y’all I’m gonna beat ya”. I said breathing hard.
I placed my hand on my knees as I breathed in and hard.
Jennifer and Jeffery approached me at a slower pace together.
“I was the second”. Jenny said.
“Nope,I raced you to this place first”. Jeff said too.
They both argued together for a moment as I placed my hand on my chest.
“Let Valerie judge”. Jennifer said.
“Fine, Valerie who got here first”. Jeff cooed.
“Guys, please…I’m not bothered about who got here first…all I know is that I took first place “. I said smiling.
“Get in here you dimwit”. They both squealed dashing towards me as I ran inside, opening the door.

?NANNY JADE ?
I prepared Spaghetti and fish sauce for the kids . I knew they were gonna come together.
Soon I heard some footsteps dashing towards the door .
And the door was yanked open as the trio ran in like little happy puppies.
For the first time in her life, Valerie smiled again. I never noticed she was as beautiful as that.
She raced Jeffery and Jennifer towards the couch as I watched them . They looked like my grand children as I watched them play.
They argued over who the first is.
I wonder what they’re nattering about. I arranged the dinning table with smile playing on my lips.
“Gosh,kids…stop playing around like little babies. I made you guys Spaghetti and fish sauce,come over and eat now before it gets cold”. I said dishing some into the plates.
“Did you just say Spaghetti and fish sauce??? Jennifer and Jeffery shouted.
“Welcome Nanny”. Valerie said giggling towards me as she pulled me close to her bosom.
Jeffery and Jennifer dropped their bags on the chair and headed towards the dinning room as they slurped the Spaghetti info their mouth.
“Welcome kids”. I hugged Valerie and moved over to Jeff and Jenny as I kssed their heads .
“Seriously? I never knew you guys eat a lot “. Valerie said.
“Welcome Nanny”. They said mouthful.
“We eat..I mean a lot, anything eatable”. Jennifer said sipping from the cup.
“When you become food,I mean anything delicious…I’ll eat you “. Jeffery said.
We all laughed.
“It’s nice seeing you guys get along, how was your first day at school? My tall princess”. I smiled.

Jeffery and Jennifer likes eating a lot and I really wish I can be like them .
They’re so free spirited and they can do anything they like.
Thankfully, Nanny Jade is always there for me. She’s the best granny I never had.
The four of the are more important to me than my parents.
Yea,don’t be surprised.
My parents don’t care about me.
I’m a mistake as they do call me.
Why should a mistake love her parents or her maker?
No reason!
“My first day at school was awesome”. I giggled.
“Did you just say awesome? Or Harris -some? Jennifer laughed out loud.
“What? I smacked her head.
“Ouch…she wheezed as I offered her a glass of water.
“Calm down Stoopid”. I said.
“Guys let’s eat so we can finish our assignment”. Jeff said.
“Heyyy,heyyy…all work and no play makes me and Jennifer dull girls”.
“Yeah, and All work and no boys makes me and Valerie dull girls “. Jennifer added as we did an high five.
“Girls , listen to your brother”. Nanny said sitting on one of the chairs in the dinning room as she dished Spaghetti into her plate and she fed on it.
“Brother? We both scoffed laughing so hard.
“Let me borrow his glasses for a while”. I said removing Jeff’s glasses from his eyes as I wore them .
“It looks so good on you”. Jennifer said smiling.

“Give it back”. Jeff stood up as I ran up to the stairs heading to my room .
“No I won’t”. I laughed running towards the stairs
Thankfully,my legs are fast.
“Give the nerdy guy his glasses”. Nanny shouted but I didn’t listen.
I ran to my room as he came inside then I tripped off my toe,he came grabbing me by the waist as I laid flat on the bed facing him .
We’re now facing each other.
What next?
I stared at his brown eyes and his hair. His nose,his mouth and his lips.
I brought out the shape of Harris Grayson.
