After school hours, I and Jennifer decided to visit the store to get something suitable for Valentine’s day.
“This is my first Valentine in the school and I need to give a very special gift to someone very special”. I said with joy in my heart.
“Here we are. Mirahbellz Empire, a place where you can see all you seek “. Jenny said demonstrating with her hand as I laughed.
“Wow…this place is indeed very big”.
We saw different sign indicating the items on the shelf.
“Groceries,perfumes,ladies wear, men’s wear, children wear and shoes, drink, dessert, toys and Valentine’s corner…name them it’s all in here”.
Jennifer stated but I was busy noticing a gift pack , a special Valentine’s pack .
“Who are you buying that for? Jenny asked me as I took a drink out of one of the pack .
I just smiled.
“Your secret anonymous valentine lover? She said again.
“Harris Grayson”. I said smiling.
“Girl,you gotta be kidding me, you’re buying something worth this for Harris who barely notice you “. She said.
Jennifer can be somehow annoying with her words.
“Barely notice me? I flinched adjusting my glasses.
“I’m sorry…calm down”.
“No,you calm down and don’t bvllsht me”.
“Valerie?
She whispered softly. I knew I had to calm down . I hate it when she talks about Harris that way. I love him come what may and nothing can change that .
“I’m sorry”. I muttered.
I took the pack from the shelf and went to the counter to pay for it.
“Your money is $20 ma’am”. The lady at the counter said to me .
“What? That’s too much,I don’t even have enough money..”.
“Add it up with this and tell me the amount”. Jennifer cuts in putting what she bought on the counter too .
“Jennifer?
“It’s fine”. She smiled.
I felt guilty for yelling at her previously. She took her stuffs after paying and went outside.
I knew I had to make up for my wrong doings if I needed a bestie. She’s a good friend to me actually.
“I’ll be right back miss” . I said to the lady at the counter.
I went back to the counter and got a pink parcel filled with perfume, jewelries, chocolate bar and I got us a friendship band.
“How much for this miss?
“$10dollars ma’am”.
“Okay,I’ll take this..keep the change”. I smiled.
“Awwww,thanks miss…have a nice day”. She smiled cheerfully.
“What were you still doing inside? She said
“I’m sorry,I was just checking the parcel well before taking it, thanks for paying. I really hope I can pay you back .
“Awwww,it’s nothing…come on,what are friends for if I can’t help you ,it’s high time we left Valerie. Jeff would start calling me now”.
Then my phone beeped.
“Oh my God! That Jeffery”. She yelled.
“Calm down,I’ll handle that glassy boy”. I said bringing out my phone.
“Is he the one ? She peeped
“Nope, this message has the same signature as that one in the paper that was thrown at me today.
“Does it have a message? She said as I read aloud.
“?Through your glassy eyes
I wanna be the Iris you use to see . I’m your secret anonymous valentine friend, I’d love it if you’d say yes to me about taking you to the dance floor.
Don’t forget my Valentine’s gift too?
??? signature ???
I read aloud .
“Oh my gosh! It’s Harris”. I screamed hugging Jennifer.
“How do you know it’s him?
“Remember,he asked me for Valentine’s gift during lunch…and now this message again! This signature is same as that one in the paper that was thrown at me”.
Take a look at it . I said giving her the phone as she checked it.
“Awwwn, okay…let’s just go home dear”. She said.
I know she said that so she won’t piss me off again .
I held her hands as we went home.

“Rise and shine Valerie,it’s another day at school… Valentime’s day princess”. Nanny knocked at my door .
“Urghhhhh…Nanny,it’s not Valentime but Valentine’s”. I groaned.
“Come out,I made Salad and Ketchup for you”. She knocked again.
“I’ll meet you there is 30 minutes…I mean one hour”.
I yelled yanking the bedspread off my body as I stepped down from the bed dragging my bare feet to the bathroom.
Then my phone beeped. A message just entered my phone from that same anonymous guy .
Who I’m very sure is Harris Grayson.
“?I can’t wait to meet you”. That anonymous guy said .
I took my phone and messaged him back .
“?Me either, but how do I recognize you? I typed pretending not to know him .
? I’ll show you my signature .
?Okay,bye…see you at school, don’t forget to bring me my Valentine’s gift . I’d love a bouquet of flowers and probably some chocolate bars .
?No problem Babe! See ya??
I screamed when I saw the love emoji .
Harris Grayson just sent me a love emoji .
OMG….!!! I yelled running around my room
“Val…are you okay? Many yelled from below .
“I’m more than okayyyyyyy….!” . I yelled back finally heading to the bathroom , I composed a love song in my head .
You know that moment when something good comes your way, you’ll have to hum or compose a song .

AFTER 10 Minutes,
I came out and got dressed in one of the dresses my parents bought me during Christmas.
It’s a short floral dress which had red and white flowers all over like rose .
Our dress code was anything but preferably, red on white as the Valentine’s color .
I took a white sandal and braided my hair on a three row at one side ,it made me look like a rock star.
“Valerie…? The voice said knocking at my door .
“Jennifer? I recognized her voice immediately as I ran to the door and opened it giving her a hug.
“Huh? What’s with the hug? She smiled weirdly.
“I know you’re probably mad at me or surprised about what I did yesterday. I’m sorry,I just…I just..
“Heyyyyy, you don’t need to explain . We’re friends and it happens once in a while . Friends need to learn how to forgive and forget..how to say sorry too. You said sorry,I forgot about it . Let’s just enjoy our Valentine’s day, Okay? She hugged me again .
“Awwwn,how sweet”. I pecked her .
“Meet me downstairs,Jeff is getting impatient to meet Grace” .
“Ohhhh,that girl…come on,let her be. I see you’re not putting on pink today”.
I said scanning her thoroughly. She wore a jean trousers and a red light top which had white polka dots on its surface . She matched it with a blue ripped jean .
Her name was written at the back of the jean in red glitters too.
She had her hair packed into two and added a pink ribbon to it, her bangles and sneakers were pink too.
“It’s obvious you can’t do without them”. I said after scanning her thoroughly.
“Whatever! Meet me downstairs Stoopid”. She sI.apped my bvtt as I entered my room to get my stuffs.
I stood in front of the mirror as I took my glasses and put them on .
“I can’t wait to get rid of these stupid glasses”. I sighed .
I took the Valentine’s gift I wanted to present to her and wrapped it in a pink parcel with red ribbon.
I headed downstairs back with the parcel.
“Hi Jeffrey,Happy Valentine’s day”. I smiled ruffling his hair .
“Don’t you dare do it again”. He said pointing at me.
I just stuck my tongue out as he rolled his eyes at me.
“Happy Valentime’s day my tall princess”. Nanny said putting a tray of sandwiches on the table .
“Nanny? What are you wearing? I said laughing so hard .
“What you call a mini sleeveless gown of course”. She said shaking her bvtt.
“Nanny… seriously? Stop acting all young, you’re old remember?
“Old huh? It’s high time to start producing babies then”. She said.
My heart sank when she said those words
Babies…!!!! ?
“Whatever…and it’s Valentine’s day not Valentime’s “.
“Will you eat and stop bluffing”.
She smacked my head
“Of course, right after I present my sister with this gift”. I said bringing out a parcel as I have it to Jennifer.
“Oh my gosh! You don’t have to..why did you go through a lot of stress to get me something as cute as this? She sobbed
“Come on,you showed me what a true friend is yesterday. Why do you think I won’t get you a gift? It’s just a little token . I hope you like it.
“I don’t just like it! I love it, thanks so much Valerie, you’re the best “. She hugged me .
“Ahemmmm”. Jeff cleared his throat.
“What? Jennifer said
“Don’t even think about it? I added as we both laughed
“I think you’re forgetting something? He said.
“Oh,you mean..your glasses”. I said as we laughed hard
Nanny Jade laughed too.
“Now you’ve started again….”
“Durhhh…tell Grace to get you a Valentine’s gift, I’m not your Valentine’s date”. I said .
“That reminds me, Valerie who is taking you out for the Valentine’s date. I know lots of guys would have been eyeing you over there, right?. Nanny said.
“Nobody eyes a glassy and nerdy girl Nanny”. Jeff said.
“Ohh…that’s why Grace gave it two thoughts in choosing you”. Jennifer replied him before I could speak .
We did a high five as we laughed.
“Nanny? He sulked
“You girls should stop buIIying Jeffery because he’s the only boy”
“He acts more or less like a girl”. I said
“Anyways tell me who the lucky guy is? She raised her eyebrows winking at me
“Ohh… someone very special to me”. I blushed
“Wow! Achievement! Congratulations on winning the award as the best liar in town”. Jeff clapped his hands as he stood up .
“Jeez! Jeffery,give it a break. I can’t waist my golden saliva on you”
“Stop bluffing Stoopid”. He shot fiercely.
“I know he’s probably pained because he doesn’t know how to ask you out”. Jennifer said picking her bag as she ran out .
“Jenny? We ran after her not bidding Nanny goodbye.
I came in minutes later after forgetting my bag.
“Bye Nanny..I love you”. I yelled.
“I love you too”. She yelled back .
