Everyone was still recording,a fight almost broke out.
I had to run out in tears .
I didn’t stop as the tears didn’t cease either. My hair dripped so hard. My clothes was stained as well .
I sat down at the field where it’s lonely. I buried my head in my palm as my hair covered my face. I wept and wept .
I was still crying when someone tapped my shoulder.

It’s my day off today so I decided to hang around at the field and watch some guys play ball.
Two ladies sat down beside me watching a video.
I really didn’t wanna pay attention to it but they were really making jest of someone in the video.
I actually thought it’s all those videos skits but I was wrong.
Their laughter got into my ears and it’s pissing me off.
“Oh my gosh,she’s so dumb”. The first one laughed out
“How can she think that he would fall for her over a drink…such a weird nerdy girl” . They did an high five and laughed again
“Ahemmmm, excuse me ladies, what’s making you laugh so much?
“None of your busin…”. One said while the other cuts in sharply.
“Shut up, let’s have fun by watching it with him again”. The other lady said
She handed the phone to me as I watched it.
My eyes widened and I was boiling within me.
How dare he? How dare Harris pour that shit on Valerie just because she likes him….it doesn’t even make sense.
I held the phone tight in annoyance and almost broke it into two .
I clenched my fist together and gave them their phone as I hopped on my bike and rode towards their school.
Valerie,wait for me…I’ll soon be there.
I’m coming. I said with me as a tear escaped my eyes. I don’t know maybe it’s due to the breeze or maybe it’s because of what I feel for Valerie.
I was deep in thought when a car almost ran me over.
“You’re crazy”. The driver shouted peeping from the window.
I bowed my head. I’m crazy, I know…I’m crazy….I’m so crazy .
Finally, I got to the school and parked my bike when I spotted Valerie.
I peeped from the net of the school,it has a transparent gate and it’s beautified with flowers and other ornaments.
I saw her sitting on a stair case weeping profusely.
How do I enter? I but my lower lip.
Then I saw a car trying to enter the school compound too. It was being scanned as I used the car to enter inside.
I hid behind the bushes and I saw some students murmuring about that video.
Harris you’ll pay for what you did I swear.
I moved closer and touched her shoulder.
“Valerie? I said as she looked back .
Her eyes were puffy and red. Her hair looks tousled and her clothe is stained with drink.
“Ian? She faced me and stood up as she hugged me.
I couldn’t hug her back at first because I was surprised.
She hugged me! ??
I could feel her breast crushing against my chest as I hugged her tight.
I ran my hands all over her hair as she cried .
“It’s not my fault,I was just trying to be nice…I…I was just showing my feelings…I meant no harm…I swear I meant no harm”.
She sobbed.
“It’s okay…it’s okay”. I patted her back .
She finally calmed down.
“Thanks Ian…I’m sorry,I couldn’t control myself. I had to hug you…” She muttered as we sat down avoiding each other’s eyes
“Nah…it’s actually fine,what are friends for? I smiled foolishly.
“Can you take me away from this place? I feel so humiliated that I wanna kll myself”. She said sobbing again.
“Stop crying… Let’s go, I’ll take you to a place when no one can think of”. I said to her offering her an handkerchief .
“Thanks so much Ian, please,let’s go” . She said
“How do we pass through? I stood up
“Pass through? Ohhh..the security man? That’s true…lets pass the back gate, it’s more easier “. She said and took my hand .
My heart beat increased as our hands joined together.
I swallowed hard.
Oh my gosh! I couldn’t hear anyone’s voice again but the sound of my heart beating fast.
Finally we got outside as I gave her an helmet.
“How do I use it? She said
“Are you seriously asking me that? I chuckled softly.
“I’m serious, I don’t know how to use it…I take the school bus to school and I don’t take bike. So I’m not used to it”. She explained.
“Hnmmm, give it to me and let your teacher explain”. I said smiling
“Shut up Stoopid”. She slapped my chest playfully as she laughed so hard
I’m glad I made her smile.
“Now you’re smiling,you look cute when a smile plays on your lips”. I said.
She fixed her gaze on me and was wondering what went wrong
Jeeez! Ian…could this day be any worse? Why would you say that weird statement.
I smacked my forehead and assisted her with the helmet.
She smiled.
“Thanks Ian”. She smiled again and I blushed.
We got on the bike as as soon as I started the engine and revved up. She held me by my waist .
My heart beat increased again.
Oh my gosh! Valerie! Stop doing this to me.
I paused for a while and almost forgot that we’re heading somewhere.
“Are you okay? She said bringing me back.
“Yeah….hummm, ahemmmm…I’m fine, are you ready? I said
“Of course I am”. She held me tight again this time she rested her head on my back.

Ian had been a life saver and this is not the first time he’d be saving me.
He’s such a sweet guy.
Harris…I know what you did was a misunderstanding and a mistake.
I’ll pretend it never happened.
But I still love you and hope to be with you .
I held unto Ian tightly and smiled.
I wanna go away from my fears a little bit .
