Mariel POV
“Wait, what, why are you giving me all these?” I asked Vanessa
“Just take it as an appreciation for being my new friend” she said.
“But, this is too much Ness….
“Please Mariel, i really don’t need these. I bought it for you, please accepted it, from my heart” she begged
“Oh Nessa, you’ve really done a lot for me today and i really appreciate it” i said.
“It’s okay Mariel, I’ll get going now. We’ll see at school tomorrow right?” She asked.
“Of course, yeah, sure, Thanks again Nessa” i
We hugged and bade eachother goodbye, and departed.
I went into my house, greeted and kissed my aunt cheeks.
I explained everything that happened and how i got the package i was holding.
She was happy i got a friend but she doesn’t like people buying things for us or pitying us.
She finally agreed that i can keep the gifts, i hugged her and went to my room to shower.
After showering and eating dinner, i went back to my room to check out all my clothes.
I was so happy, those clothes were really beautiful.
All are designers.
I picked up the champagne gown I’ll use for the party and wore it, it was so pretty and perfectly fitted.
I packed all the clothes aside and opened the package, it was an Ipad and Iphone 8, and a headset.
Oh my, i was so happy. I finally had a phone.
I switched on the phone and saw Vanessa’s number there, i smiled and called her, she picked up immeadiately.
We gisted and laughed and i kept on thanking her for the phone.
After saying our goodbyes, we hanged up.
I picked up my work handbag to keep the phone but i saw another package in it.
Where did i get’it from, i can’t really recollect as i scan my brain for an answer and made it flash to the past events.
Then i remembered, it was Adrian that gave it me when we both went out.
Thinking about it made made me smile and the thought of us being lovers came to my head.
I chuckled.
I tore the package open and a laptop and Ipad stared at me in my face.
Oh my goodness, its all like a dream, me that didn’t even have a phone at all, now have 2 iPads an iPhone and a laptop.
This is so good to be true.
I admired the phone’s for a while before packing it aside and bringing out my board, pencils and eraser.
With the help of my brain i started drawing Vanessa’s picture, i drew about 3 pictures of her before falling asleep.
***Fast forward***
It was morning, i did my daily routines and started eating breakfast when my Aunt came.
“Mariel hurry up a friend is waiting for you at the door” My Aunt said.
A friend, i haven’t got any friend that’ll come and wait for me today.
Was it Babianca, she ought to be at work by now, ‘cos she works both day and night.
“A friend?” I asked my Aunt.
“Yes baby, hurry up she’s at the door” my Aunt said and left.
I quickly ate breakfast and went to the door, as i looked at the person waiting for me.
It was Nessa and she smiled at me.
We greeted and kissed before entering the car and going to school.

I and Nessa became good friends, we’ll read together, eat together, play together and also practice our speech together.
She was a nice friend indeed.
We sat at the cafeteria, one day, gisting and eating.
When i saw Adrian passing.
Vanessa smiled at him and he smiled back then started walking toward us, when he reached us he smiled at me and then took Vanessa’s hand and started walking.
Vanessa stopped and ran to me, she whispered to me that she’ll be right back and left with Adrian.
I decided to follow them and they went to the music room, i stood at the door and peeped at them.
They started kiss…
Adrian and Vanessa were kissing in the studio, like lovers.
I slide in the door and hugged my knees.
My heart was really breaking that moment and i could feel tears in my eyes.
Vanessa is Adrian’s girlfriend.
