Mariel’s POV
I woke up from sleep and knelt beside my bed to pray, after praying i went to my bathroom to brush and bath then i went to greet my aunt and she kissed me.
Then i prepared for school and ate breakfast, after eating i headed to school and i stayed for the assembly.
After the morning activities, i went to my locker to drop my textbooks and books then picked my backpack and walked to my class.
We had biology first and i listened attentively and wrote down things from the board.
Adrian also sat beside me, we both greeted each other.
We had three more subjects before the break, i picked my lunch box and went to the school restaurant.
I ate my food and went back to my class to read my notes.

I headed home in my bicycle, once i got home i parked my bicycle and headed into the house.
I could hear sobs from inside the sitting room and i could hear people talking.
I heard my aunt voice and a woman’s voice but it doesn’t look familiar at all.
I stepped into the sitting room and saw the woman crying and my aunt was staring at her pitifully.
“She’ll be back from school any minute from now, and if she agrees to go with you then she’s free” My aunt said to the woman who nodded as she cleaned her tears with a clean towel.
I cleared my throat and the two women turned to face me.
“Good afternoon aunt and Ma” i greeted as i went to kiss my aunt cheeks.
The woman looked at me for a while and then faced my aunt.
“Is.. is she.. ma.. Mariel?” She asked my aunt and she nodded.
I stared at her for a while and i could see little resemblance in us.
“Mrs Gomez this is Mariel, Mariel.. yo., your mother” my aunt stammered and i gasped.
My mouth was wide opened but nothing came out as i stared at the woman in shock.
“Mar….,,
Before the could continue i ran to my room.
I wasn’t ready for this, not now…
Adrian POV
I sat on a couch with my parents and my little sister, Anna.
We were watching news on T.v, when they state the heading of a news, the woman on the screen was talking about it and it states in bold letters.
‘MRS VANESSA SMITH AND MR NATHAN SMITH, THE PRESIDENT OF N.S COMPANY, CELEBRATES THEIR FIRST BABY AT A FUNCTION. MR NATHAN SMITH CLAIMS TO BE THE MOST HAPPIEST M….
I switched off the television before the woman could say more. My parents and sis looked at me in shock as i went to my room, i picked up my laptop and started browsing the net.
Vanessa looked really happy on T.V, she was smiling happily with some people.
A picture of her and Nathan kissing also appeared on the T.V screen and it freaked me out.
I know i had gotten over her, but I’m just not ready to see her face right now.
She’s happy with Nathan so i have to find my happiness too.
Vanessa was no longer Stiles bit now Smith.
Of course she has to use her husband’s name since she’ll get married to him soon.
My door opened and my mom and Anna came in, my mom sat on my bed while my sister stood.
“You still have feelings for her, right” my mom asked.
“Huh?” I asked.
“Vanessa i mean, you still love her right” she asked.
“I don’t have anything for her anymore” i said still operating my laptop.
“Lies, why did you freakout when you saw her with her baby on T.v” she
“I’ve really gotten over her mom, i just don’t wanna see her face” i said.
“Vanessa is happy with her husband and child son, it’s high time you find your happiness too” my mom said.
“Seriously mom am over her already” i said.
“Okay fine, then why don’t you have a girlfriend, it’s been three months already and you haven’t introduced your new girl to is” my mom said.
“I have a girlfriend mom, seriously” i lied and my mom smiled.
“Then where is she?” She asked.
“She’d be at her house of course.” I said sarcastically.
“Son you..
“Mom please, i said i have a new girlfriend and I’ve gotten over Nessa a long time ago” i said.
“And i put it to you big bro that you haven’t gotten over Nessa and if you think I’m lieing i dare you to bring your girlfriend home next weekend” my sister said and my mom nodded.
“Seriously?” I said and they both nodded.
“So if i bring her home on weekend and show you guys I’ve gotten over Nessa what do i get?” I asked.
“I’ll do your laundry and clean your room” Anna said.
“And i’ll make you Chicken cream” my mom said.
“Deal then” i said and they both smiled and left.
I have to get a fake girl, i really have to show i have gotten over Nessa.
Mom and Anna, get ready to do my laundry, clean my room and make me a plate of cream chicken cos my fake girlfriend is coming home on weekend.
I smiled.
