Penny’s POV:
After Bryce left, i exhaled loudly.
Releasing a breath that I never knew I was holding.
I confessed to him? Last night?
What was I even thinking?
He wants to help me, what does he know?
How can he help me?
I sighed, ignoring the loud ring of my phone I opened the fridge and brought out two cups if ramen.
I have to go grocery shopping today, we can’t continue eating ramen like this.
I make metal note on what to buy. Alot of vegetables and beef.

This early Sunday afternoon, I removed my sunglasses as I stared at the prominent and respected hospital.
Grandfather was in coma for eight months now, he was the only one who actually cares.
He always reach out to me.
He make sure we were well taken care of.
“Mommy are we going in now?” Chris asked me.
I nodded and grab hold of his hand as well matches elegantly to the front door.
I got to the reception desk and smiled at the girl.
“Hi, please im here to see my grandfather.” I told her.
“Room number?” She asked me yet again.
“I don’t know, this is my first time of being here. The name’s Lewis James.” He said finally.
“Got it, lewis James is at the 10th floor.” The receptionist said.
She smiled at the receptionist and walk away
When i got to the tenth floor.
I saw two bodyguard heavily guarding a room.
“Hmm hi, I’m Penny James. Is this grandfather room?” I asked them. I was surprised that it might be.
The bodyguards look at each other and nodded.
I stepped forward and pushed the door opened.

“Grandfather.” I grab hold of hand and smiled.
His eyes twinkled when saw me and he sat back on the bed just watching me and Chris.
“You haven’t seen this old man for awhile now, how is my grandson?” He asked.
“We are fine Grandfather, I missed you so much.hope you recover quickly we need to play golf together.” I told him and he chuckled.
“Little girl, let me recover first.” He said and ruffy her hair.
When he lay his eyes on Chris who watching the hospital room without no car in the world.
He frowned deeply.
“When last did you talk to your mother.” He asked all of sudden.
“You of all people should know about my relationship with my mother, it was worse than rotten egg?” She said and sigh.
That woman hates me. But what can I say? I’ve developed a thick skin in the recent years.
I don’t allow what she says get into me anymore.
“Staying here in the hospital must be really terrible, you can’t speak. Can’t call on for help. I’m sorry you had to go through all that because of my childish behavior.
Eight months ago grandfather invited me and chris to a family dinner.
Let’s jus say it didn’t end well as grandfather fainted and wanted coma immediately.
I keep wandering, if I didn’t retaliate, will it be a problem?

“Okay grandfather, we will see you soon.” Both Chris and I waved at him before leaving the room.
Wow!
“Did you enjoy seeing grandfather yet again?” I asked Chris and he nodded.
“Let’s go shopping.” I said as well hop inside my car.
The drive to the grocery store was really long so in the next next ten minutes i was already out of my car in front of grocery store.
“Let’s go.” I told Chris and grabbed his hand.
“Five broccoli, six beef, ten eggs, mushrooms and so on the list is endless.” I groaned.
Well, just how long am I going to shop here?

Bryce’s POV:
“Sir the private jet is ready.” Katie said and i nods. I fixed my three piece black suit properly and stood up.
“When will the meeting be hold?” I suddenly asked.
“Tomorrow morning, 10:00am. Why sir?”
“What about the tour? Around the property.”
“That will be next tomorrow Mr King.”
I was silent for a while.
“Let’s go.” I have to hurry with everything and get back to new York.
Few hours later.
It was already nightfall when the jet landed in Shangai China.
“I booked your favorite suit at the seven stars hotel sir.” Katie said and I hummed.
I unlocked my phone and called Zen.
“Hey babe, you are there already?”She asked.
“Yea, how is Arley?” I asked as the car pulled up in front of the seven stars hotel.
“It’s already 5:30am here, what time is it there?” She asked.
“I think 8pm, I’ll call you later. Sleep tight.” I told her and hung up.
My eyes caught a familiar name from the screen of my phone.
“Penny.” I whispered. What do I do about you?
What have you done to me?
I enter the elevator and turned to face Katie.
“You can go to your room now, I’ll call you when I need you.” I told her before pressing the number and the elevator started moving.
Should I call her?
The elevator stopped at the top floor and I walk out making my way to the suite.
I swipe the card and the door unlocked.
I removed my jacket and tossed it on the couch then sat down staring at her number.
Should i call her? Or not.
After so much thinking , I decided to text her.
?Hey, you up??
Ten minutes passed but she didn’t reply.
Twenty minutes
Thirty……..
I stood up from the couch and walk inside the master bedroom, after removing my shirt and the other clothes.
I went inside the bathroom and took a quick shower then returned to the room.
My phone dinged and my heartbeat quickened.
Did she text back?
Like a robot controlled by a remote, I moved towards the bed and picked up my phone.
It was indeed her.
?Yea, getting Chris ready for school. Will see you at work??
I forgot. She didn’t know that I’m in China.
?In China for a contract, will be back in two days time?
?China? But you….oh never mind, see you when you get back?
Did she wanna tell me something else before?
I wanted to drop my phone but a new message came in, from a private number?
“I wonder how naive you really are Mr King, your love life is pathetic.”
