Kira’s hand is trembling as she read the journal. She gritted her teeth and heart is beating so fast. Tears fell down on her face and anger could be seen in her eyes.
*Flashback. The year 2000*
“Are you leaving me?” The old Master Tan, who is at the age of forty-five at that time asked the woman in front of him. The woman is Aileen, his wife, she is holding a luggage with her right hand.
“Yes, I am leaving you, Randolph,” Aileen said without holding back.
“Why?” Mr. Tan’s eyes turned red and he seems like tears are going to flow from his eyes.
Aileen looked at Mr. Tan straight to the eyes, “I am not happy with you, you are always busy with your work and you don’t even know what your sister is doing to me whenever you’re not around,” she said.
“Oh come on Aileen!” Gezel spoke sarcastically as she defended herself.
“Don’t blame me, Why won’t you tell my brother that you’re going to run away with your other man?!”
Randolph was stunned to hear Gezel.
“W-What?!” He blurted out in a stunned expression.
“Is it true?” He asked Aileen.
Aileen lowered her head, “I’m sorry, but Jaime is always there whenever I need someone to lean on. He gave me the attention that you never give to me!” Aileen said.
“Y-You’re leaving me and our son for another man?” Randolph said unbelievably.
“I am choosing my happiness, Randolph!” Aileen replied coldly.
Anger slowly formed in Randolph’s face. He seemed like he was suddenly possessed by an evil. His eyes are bloodshot as he gritted his teeth in anger. He suddenly chokes Aileen and pushed her to the wall!.
“How could you do this to us? I tried to give you everything that you need, and you’re just going to betray me?!” He said furiously!
Aileen’s eyes went wide opened.
“R-Randolph!” She struggled to speak!
She couldn’t breathe due to the tight grip of Randolph into her neck. Her face turned purple due to the lack of air. She tried to fight back, by slapping Randolph’s arm.
Gezel couldn’t just stand and watch what is happening there!
“Randolph!” She yelled.
“Release her! Don’t make your self a criminal for that cheater woman” She added.
Randolph seems to hear Gezel as he suddenly let go of Aileen.
Aileen slumped on the floor and she coughs violently while trying to gasp for air!
“Go, if you want to go. But I am telling you this, you can never see your son again if you walk away through that door” Randolph said as he pointed the front door.
Aileen glared at Randolph, “You can not stop me by threatening me” She said and then she got up from the floor and pulled her luggage to the front door.
Randolph just helplessly watched his wife as she walks out of the house. He may seem cold from the outside but he is just human who has emotions.
His heart is bleeding thinking of his wife choosing another man over him.
‘Am I not good enough?’ Randolph asked himself bitterly.
He tried all he could just to give her a comfortable life. Is all his hard work not enough?

Late at night at the Hilltop Garage,
Mr. Tan keeps on drinking the liquor even if he already feels dizzy. He wanted to forget the pain that he felt inside. He couldn’t accept the fact that his wife left him for another man.
He is mad to himself, he blamed himself for what happened to their marriage.
The Far Travel Bus Line had just started and he has been busy to make it successful. He did not notice that he is already neglecting his wife. He did not give his time to her.
He is a successful businessman but a failure husband.
Mr. Tan gets up from his seat when he finished up the three bottles of hard liquor, but he unintentionally slumped in his chair when his world suddenly spins. He shook his head. He closed his eyes tightly to clear his vision before he opens it again.
Mr. Tan got up from his seat when he felt a little ease, and he slowly walked towards the door while his body was swaying.
He walked straight to his car as soon as he got out of his office and inserted the key on the ignition switch, he started the engine and drove the car away.

*Inside the bar,*
“Thank you for this surprise that you guys planned for me,” Kino said to his co-workers.
He was celebrating his promotion as the senior automotive technician and his co-workers gave him a little surprise.
“You’re welcome Senior Kino, you deserve this promotion.” One of his co-workers said.
“This is all Richard’s idea.” The second person added.
Kino looked at his friend, they have not talked for a long time, but he is glad that after ten years of not seeing each other, he still treats him as his friend.
“Thank you, Richard,” Kino said as he smiled to his friend.
Richard revealed a faint smile as he raised his glass as if asking for a cheer.
Kino raised his glass and drank the content of it. He takes back his seat, coincidentally, his phone rang.
Kino took his Nokia 3310 from his pocket and answered the call.
“Ara?” Kino answered the call. He did not notice that Richard froze when he heard the name, Ara.
Kino tried to listen to his wife from the other line, but he couldn’t hear her, so he decided to excuse his self to talk to Ara outside the room.
“I’m sorry honey, what did you just say?” Kino asked as soon as he reached outside.
“Kira and I have just arrived at the bus terminal, could you fetch us and takes us home?” Ara said.
She and Kira had just arrived from S Province, it is almost midnight and there are only a few cabs at this hour.
“Oh, sure honey!” Kino replied.
“I’ll just tell my co-workers that I am leaving, just wait for me there, alright?” He said.
“Alright, honey!” Ara replied.
Kino ended the call and get back inside, “I’m sorry, but my wife has already called, I have to go ahead.” Kino said.
“Oh, I thought they were at S Province?” Richard asked.
“Yeah, but they were back and they had just arrived,” Kino replied.
“Oh!” Richard blurted out.
” Why won’t you just drink this last shot of liquor before leaving, then,” Richard said as he stretched his hand to Kino.
Kino took the glass from Richard and drank its content with one go. He did not notice the mysterious look in Richard’s eyes!
Kino left the place and went to the bus terminal to fetch Ara and Kira.
“Daddy!” The little Kira excitedly runs towards her father.
“Hello, my Princess!” Kino kneeled to embraced his daughter before he showers her ksses.
“Oh, Daddy missed you so much!” He said.
“Hehehe.” The little Kira just giggled.
“She was so excited to go home,” Ara said with a smile on her face.
Kino got up from kneeling on the ground and kssed his wife on her cheek, “You looked tired.” He said.
“Yeah, ten hours travel is so tiring,” She said.
The little Kira looked at her parents and yawned, “Daddy, I am sleepy.” She complained.
“Alright, let’s go home so that you can sleep,” Kino said, and then he pulled the luggage to the car.
The little Kira sat on the left side of the back seat while Ara sits beside her.
The little Kira closed her eyes and fell asleep as soon as Kino started the engine.
They silently traveled to the Hilltop Village but after a while of driving, Kino started to yawn, and his eyes become heavy.
“Are you alright, honey?” Ara asked when she noticed her husband’s groggy eyes.
“Yeah, I’m alright, I just feel sleepy.” He replied.
They were already heading on the higher part of the road going to the Hilltop village.
“Did you drink too much?” Ara asked.
“No, I just drink two shots of liquor,” He replied.
Kino’s vision started to get blurry but he still forced his self to stay awake.

Meanwhile, a car at a high speed is running in zigzag on the opposite side of the lane.. The car seems like it is doing a race with its high speed.
On the other part, Kino’s car is currently traveling the sharp curve part of the road. The curve was sharp and he didn’t see the car coming into their way.
Kino still felt sleepy, so he closed his eyes tightly hoping to ease the dizziness that he felt, he is not looking on the road and he did not see the car came out from the sharp curve part of the road.
The worst is, the other car was not on its right lane. It occupied the same lane where Kino’s car was running.
“Honey, look out!” Ara screamed when she noticed the car from the opposite direction and it is heading to them.
Kino instantly opened his eyes. He saw the car heading to them. He felt like he has awakened. The first thing that came to his mind was to dodge the car by turning the steering wheel to the right side, but it was too late.
The opponent car was still able to hit the left side of the backseat of Kino’s car. The left window on the back seat shattered!
Kino’s car spins around before it crashes to the road barrier. The window shield shattered as soon as the car crashed to the road barrier.
The bumper separated from Kino’s car and the road barrier got wrecked due to the impact while the front wheels are hanging on the cliff.
The passengers on the back seat hit their heads due to the impact which made them lost their consciousness and Kino lost his consciousness too.
In the other car, Mr. Tan slowly raised his head.
“Ah, ” He complained as he touched the back of his neck. He is still tipsy, he didn’t know how everything happened, it was soo fast. He was just driving his car and then he hit something.
Mr. Tan removed his seat belt and he opened his car door before he got off the car. He walked to the front of the car, with his body swaying. He checked the bumper and realized it was wrecked.
He looked around and he knitted his brows when he saw another car just a few steps away from him.
Mr. Tan’s vision was still blurry, he closed his eyes and shook his head before he opened his eyes again. He narrowed his eyes as he looked at the other car. And then his expression slowly changed when he realized that the other car has crashed on the barrier, the left side of the car was wrecked too!
Mr. Tan remembered that he hit something earlier.
“D-Did I just hit that car?!” He asked himself, rattled.
He slowly walked closer to the car to check on the passengers but it only made him startled. He felt like he has lost his drunkenness as he saw the unconscious people inside the car, bathing their own bIood.
‘Oh, God!’ Mr. Tan stepped back!
‘Did he just kll these people by accident?!’
Mr. Tan’s heart was beating so fast and his entire body was shaking. He doesn’t know what to do.
He hit another car with three people on board and they looked like they are in a critical condition or worst they might be dead.
He klled three people!
That is a big sin!
He might go to jail!
Mr. Tan got rattled.
He got confused about what to do, “No, they are might be alive!” He thought.
Mr. Tan took his phone to call for an ambulance, but then he suddenly froze and thinks, ‘ If he calls an ambulance, the authorities will come too.’
They will investigate and they will discover that I am drunk.
“I am the one to be blamed for this accident, I might go to jail!’ He thought.
‘No!’
He couldn’t go to jail!
No one’s gonna take care of Timothy, his son. He is just fourteen years old, what would his son do if he goes to jail? There’s no one to look after him. He doesn’t know how to run the family’s business and there’s no one he can trust to manage it.
With that thought, Mr. Tan slowly put down his phone, he looked back at the other car.
“I’m sorry…” He mumbled with guilt, “I couldn’t do this!” He added before he hurriedly walked back to his car.
But he stopped when he realized something, ‘What if there’s another passerby?’
There are broken pieces of his car parts, they might be able to locate me.
With that thought, Mr. Tan walked back to the front and picked up the pieces of his car parts before he rode to his car.
Fortunately, his car still works, he drove his car away from the scene without turning his head to the other car.
He let his cowardice engulf him.
