“Sweetheart, are you alright?” Tim asked Kira who is sitting in front of the police officer’s desk.
” Yes, I am,” Kira replied coldly.
She then got up from her seat.
She turned her head to Sevi and speak, ” Sevi, let’s go home, ” She said without looking at Tim.
Tim just lowered his head. He is so affected by Kira’s coldness towards him. He felt like someone has clutched his heart. He doesn’t know for how long will she treat him like this.
Tim is confused about what to do just to fix this problem between him and Kira.
He sighs as he looked at Kira who is now walking to the exit.
Tim went to the police officer who has just done interrogating the kidnappers.
“Is there anything you’ve got, officer?” Tim asked the officer.
“The two of the three men refuse to speak,” The officer replied.
Tim sighs!
What would he expect?
Those men won’t simply tell the police about their boss!
“But, fortunately,” The officer suddenly spoke again,
“Fortunately, what?” Tim couldn’t wait to hear what the officer is going to say.
“Fortunately, one of them gave his cooperation with us,”
“Really?!” Tim blurted out..
“He confesses to us, who is the culprit behind all these,” The officer said.
“It’s Richard Fuente, isn’t it?”
“Yes, Mr. Tan, he also confessed that this Mr. Fuente was also the culprit behind the explosion in the garage,” The officer added.
Tim tightened his grip.
‘And I am sure that he is also the one who sent the journal to Kira!’ Tim thought.
Tim doesn’t know how Mr. Fuente got the journal, but he couldn’t think of anyone who would give that journal to Kira.
That old man has caused a big damage to his marriage!
Tim gritted his teeth. All he wants was the courage to tell Kira about the journal, but he loses his chance because of the person who sent the journal to her!
“Did he also confess the hideout of Mr. Fuente?” Tim asked.
“Yes, sir!” The officer replied.
“Then why are you still here? Why are you not raiding his hideout?!”
“Sir, we couldn’t do it if we don’t have a search warrant,”
“But he is a ¢riminal!” Tim insisted.
“We still have to follow the rules, sir.” The officer replied.
Tim just sigh!
As long as Mr. Fuente is not in jail, Kira’s life is still in danger!
It took a few minutes before Tim gets out of the police station. He sat on the front seat for he knows that Kira doesn’t want to be near him at the moment.
Tim and Kira were silent inside the car until they reached home.
Kira got off the car as soon as Sevi stopped in the garage. She entered the house and continued to ignore Tim. She just changed her dress in the master’s bedroom before she headed to the guest room.
Tim, on the other hand, went to his study room.
Kira lay down on the bed with her back turned against the door.
After a while, someone knocked on the door, “Kira, dear, can we talk?” It was Helena’s voice.
Kira took a deep breath before she lazily got up from the bed and headed to the door.
Kira opened the door and went back to the bed, she laid her body with her back turned against Helena.
“You know about it, don’t you?” Kira asked coldly.
Helena was silent for a moment. All Kira could hear was her deep breaths.
“I was a homeless person sixteen years ago. ” Helena spoke after a while.
Kira pressed her lips as she listens to Helena.
“If not because of the goodness of the old master, I might have starved to death then,” Helena continued.
“The old master took me in. He gave me shelter, food and work as their servant. I promised my self to repay the old master’s goodness towards me. I promised to give my loyalty to their family. After a year of working for them, the old master has trusted me. But one day I notice the old master’s changed of behavior. He was always in a daze. He always gets drunk and he would suddenly cry. I thought, it was because of his wife who left them for another man. But one day, he approached me and suddenly asked me…” Helena paused as the memory flashed into her mind.
*(Fifteen years ago)*
“You will leave the mansion tomorrow,” The old master said.
“W-What?!” The young Helena blurted out.
“Are you going to fire me out, sir?
“No, I am not firing you out, I am going to re-assign you.” the old master said.
“I want you to be a child’s adoptive parent.”
“W-What?” Helena was stunned!
“Her name is Kira Joson, her parents died a few weeks ago due to the car accident.” Mr. Tan said, bothered.
“She is still in the hospital, I want you to take good care of her, give her the love that a parent should do.”
“But, sir, how can I be her adoptive parent? I don’t have any ?sset, how could I provide her needs?” Helena said.
“Just leave it to me, just focus on the child, I will provide everything to the both of you, shelter, foods dress and even her education, you don’t need to worry anything.”
*(Flashback end)*
“I did not ask too much about it, I am just a servant anyway, who am I to question my master? I just know about the accident before the old master Tan passed away,” Helena said.
“He confessed to me everything.”
“Why didn’t you tell me, then?” Kira asked in resentment.
“Because I don’t have the courage to tell you. I was afraid that you will get back to the old you, I was afraid that the Kira who seems to hate the world after losing her parents tragically will get back. You have been through a lot and I don’t want to bring back the pain that you felt fifteen years ago,” Helena explained.
“The pain was never gone, auntie,” Kira said bitterly.
“I’m sorry,” Helena apologized sincerely.

A police siren could be heard in the busy street outside the Capital City.
The police car stopped in front of a guest house, and they get off the car. All of them moved swiftly. Their commander gestured them to open the gate in the count of three. The Officers looked at each other and then they pushed the gate.
“Freeze!” The officers yelled as they aimed their gvns ahead of them, but they were met with silence.
“Search for the whole house!” The commander ordered.
All of the police officers spread. They opened each room upstairs and downstairs but they found nothing. There are no traces of the criminals that they were hunting.
The officers gathered in the living room again, “Sir, negative!” One of the officers said to their commander.
“Aish!” The commander took off his cap and slammed it on the floor due to frustration.
“They have already escaped!” The commander said with gritted teeth.
They’re not only here to hunt Mr. Fuente. They are also hunting the gang leader Chase. The investigation revealed that these two men are forming an ally to cause harm to the Tan Family.
The commander sighs!
These men are hard to catch!
They already know the authority’s next move.

Tim was in the living room, pacing back and forth and restless..
‘Why there is no still call from the police about Mr. Fuente?’ Tim asked himself. He rubbed his face as he sat on the couch.
After a while, he put his phone on the glass center table. He leaned his back on the couch and closed his eyes. He hadn’t slept well the last night. He felt exhausted, thinking of what to do first.
(Ring!)
Tim instantly opened his eyes when he heard his phone rung. He straightened his body and pick up his phone. It is a call from the police station.
Tim hurriedly swiped his phone and answers the call.
“Hello?” Tim answered.
“Yes, speaking,” Tim said again.
He went silent as if he is listening to the person on the other line.
“What?!” Tim blurted out after a while. He balled his fist and gritted his teeth, “Aish!”
The person from the other line ended the call.
Tim tossed his phone on the couch due to frustration!

Kira looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her dull eyes are still swollen. There are dark circles around her eyes, indicating that she hadn’t had enough sleep last night. She took a deep breath.
She picks up her shoulder bag before she walked out of the guest room and headed downstairs.

Tim was still in the living room. He was sitting on the couch with his hands supporting his head. He heard footsteps from upstairs.
Tim slowly straightened his body when he saw Kira. She seems like she’s going somewhere.
Tim slowly raised from his seat, without taking his eyes away from Kira.
“You’re leaving?” Tim asked Kira.
Kira’s footsteps stopped when she heard Tim’s voice. She did not notice him earlier!l. She slowly raised her head and she saw Tim in the living room.
She instantly pulled back her gaze, “I’m going to see Lea,” she replied without looking at Tim.
“Kira, it is not safe for you to go out for now,” Tim said worriedly.
“The police were not able to capture Mr. Fuente, He is still free until now, He and his men might just be waiting their chance to attack you again,” Tim added.
Kira turned to Tim with her dull expression, “I am not afraid of him,” She said coldly.
“I feel like I am dead already when I learned about the truth, Tim,” Kira added.
Tim was not able to say a word.
Kira turned her head to Tim and he lowered his gaze as he saw Kira’s dull expression.
“Actually, I should be thankful of him instead,” Kira said without expressions on her face.
“He helped me to find out the truth. I am sure that he was the one who sent that journal to me.” She added.
“If it wasn’t for him, I might still be like an id!ot living with the son of the man who klled my parents!”
Pain could be seen on Tim’s eyes as he heard Kira’s word. He felt like someone poked a million needles in his heart.
What Kira said was all true.
“Alright, ” Tim lowered his head as he spoke in a low voice, “You can go to Lea, But, let Sevi and Tasha go with you,” Tim added before he turned and walks away.
Kira blinked her eyes to suppress her tears as she watched Tim’s retreating silhouette.
Kira is still in a state of anger. When someone is angry, they don’t mind the hurtful words that come out from their mouths. She took a deep breath before she turned and headed to the garage.
Sevi and Tasha instantly approached Kira as they saw her, “Missus, Mr. Tan told us not to allow you to leave the Villa.” Sevi said.
Kira stopped in her track and looked at Sevi, “He already knows that I am leaving,” Kira said.
“Oh,” Sevi blurted out.
“Then let us come with you, Missus,” Tasha spoke.
“If you say so,” Kira replied and then she turned and headed to the car.
Sevi and Tasha looked at each other before they followed Kira.
Sevi sat in the driver’s seat while Tasha sat beside him.
“Where are we going, Missus?” Sevi asked as soon as he started the engine.
“Route Two, at Lea’s store,” Kira replied with her gaze outside the car.
Sevi stepped on the accelerator and drove away.
Meanwhile, in the master’s bedroom, Tim watches Kira’s car drove away.
His eyes are full of bitterness, Kira seems to hate him because of his father’s sin.
She vented her anger to him, but he understands why, because his father’s sin is unforgivable.
Tim just prays that Kira will forgive his father. He just prays that this won’t destroy their marriage.
