“Daddy, Daddy, I want my daddy,” The three-year-old little girl wailed.
“Yes, daddy will be here soon, baby, so, stop crying, alright?” A woman in her late fifties tried to console the child.
“No, I missed my daddy! Waaah!” The child wailed again.
The woman opened her mouth and was about to continue to console the child, but she stopped when she heard the front door opened. The woman turned her head to the door.
The old woman has a sigh of relief when she saw a woman in her late twenties, wearing a teacher’s uniform came in the door.
“Why is my baby crying?” The woman in the teacher’s uniform asked sweetly to the child.
“Mommy!” The child got up from lying on the floor and embraced her mommy.
“Oh, she’s been looking for her daddy, Kira,” The woman said to Kira.
Kira looked at the woman, “I’m sorry if we trouble you so much, Auntie Aileen,” Kira apologized to the woman.
“Nah! Don’t mind it! Yana is like a grandchild to me!” Aileen replied.
“I want my daddy” The child said again.
Kira turned her gaze to the child, “Ssshhh, your daddy will be here soon, but, if you don’t stop crying, daddy will not come home,” She said.
(Sobs sobs sobs!)
The child sobs, “Ana will not cry anymore, Ana wants dad home,” The child said and stopped crying.
Kira smiled, “Very Good!”
“Yana is such a big girl already!” She said wit a smile on her face.

*The next morning,*
“Good morning, baby!” Kira greeted Yana who is now sitting in the high chair and being feed by Aileen.
Aileen looked up to Kira, “Have you not slept well last night?” She commented when she noticed the dark circles around Kira’s eyes.
“Oh,” Kira touched her face, ‘Is it obvious?’ She asked her self.
“I was just thinking a lot, auntie,” Kira replied.
“Oh,” Aileen blurted out.
“You shouldn’t think too much, it’s not good for your health,” Aileen said.
Kira stared at Aileen, she suddenly missed Helena.
The way Aileen cares for her is just so like her Auntie. But sadly, she passed away, she wasn’t even able to say goodbye to her.
A tinge of loneliness reflected on Kira’s eyes.
“Oh, what happened? Why you seemed like crying,” Aileen asked when she noticed the loneliness on Kira’s eyes.
Kira embraced Aileen, “Auntie, thank you for being here with me since I gave birth to Yana,” Kira said with gratitude.
She met Aileen when she arrived here at M Province. Aileen was the landlord of the apartment that she has rented.
Just like Kira, Aileen also doesn’t have a family. The two of them get along with each other easily.
When Kira gave birth to Yana, Aileen offered to take good care of the child so that Kira can still work to provide the child’s needs.
“Ah, what kind of drama is this again?” Aileen doesn’t like moments like this..
“Ah, hahaha…” Kira laughed faintly, ” I’m sorry,” she said.
“Auntie, please take good care of your self,” Kira said.
“Ah, don’t worry about me, I am still well,” Aileen replied.
“Why won’t you just eat first, you’ll be late at work now. Drake might be here to fetch you in a few minutes,” Aileen said.
“Ennn…” Kira nodded her head a few times and then she sat on the chair beside Yana.

*St. Luke Academy,*
Kira walks to the head of school director’s office. The director wanted to talk to her about something. She knocked a few times before she opened the door.
” Good good morning, Mr. Hans,” Kira greeted the director who was sitting in front of his wooden table.
“Good morning, Ms. Li!” The director replied.
Kira preferred to use her maiden name since she left the Capital City.
“Come in and have a seat!” The director invited her.
Kira entered the office and sat on the chair in front of the director’s wooden table.
“Why the Director wants to talk to me?” Kira asked politely.
“Ms. Li, I think you have to start fixing your things,” The Director said.
Kira’s expression slowly changed as she heard the Director.
“W-Why, Mr. Hans? Are you going to fire me out?” Kira couldn’t help but ask.
“Huh?!” The director looked at Kira with his puzzled look.
“Why would you think that something like that?” Mr. Hans asked.
“You’re telling me to fix my things, so, I thought…”
“No, I won’t fire you, I told you to fix your things because we will be going to re-assign you to another campus.” The director said.
“We saw how dedicated you are to your work, as a reward, we will be promoting you to be the headteacher at the Capital City’s Campus.”
Kira was stunned after hearing the director. She was not stunned because she was promoted, she was stunned because she will be ?ssigned to the Capital City!
‘My God!’
‘Is this a sign for me to go back to the place where I grow up?’
‘Is it time to face the people that I left behind?’
‘Is it time to stop hiding?’ Kira asked herself.
“Ms. Li?” Mr. Hans called when Kira did not respond.
Kira snapped back to her senses when she heard the director’s voice.
“Y-Yes, Director?” She instantly responded.
“As I was saying we will re-assign you to the Capital City’s Campus as a headteacher,” The director repeated.
Kira wasn’t able to move, even if she want to refuse the promotion, she didn’t dare to.
She doesn’t want to be impolite.
The director might think that she is arrogant to refuse the promotion when everybody wants it.
The director might get insulted if she did not accept the offer!
‘What would I do?’
‘Should I just resign?’
‘But I couldn’t resign just like that!’
‘If she resigns, how would she feed Yana?’
‘How can she provide her needs?’

At night, Kira was standing in her apartment’s balcony.
“You seem to be in deep thought,” Drake commented.
Kira snapped back to her senses when she heard Drake spoke from behind her.
“Oh,” She blurted out as she turned her head.
Drake was holding two cups of coffee. He gave the other one to Kira.
“Thanks!” Kira said as she took the cup of coffee.
“Why? Is there a problem?” Drake asked Kira.
Kira took a deep breath, ” Uh, I have good news and bad news,” Kira said.
“Which one you want to hear first?” Kira asked.
“Hmmm…” Drake looked up as if he is thinking.
“Tell me the good news first,” He said.
“I got promoted,” Kira said.
Drake’s eyes instantly lighten up.
“Really?!” He blurted out!
“Ennn…” Kira nodded her head.
“The school director said that I am promoted as a headteacher,”
“Oh, congratulations!” Drake said excitedly.
“But,”
Drake went silent when Kira spoke again.
“They will be going to transfer me to the main campus,”
“Where is their main campus?” Drake asked with his knitted brows.
“At the Capital City,” Kira replied.
“Where is the bad news there?” Drake asked in confusion.
“You know I don’t want to go back to the Capital City,” Kira explained.
“So, you’re going to refuse the promotion?” Drake asked.
“I don’t know yet, Wouldn’t it look like an insult to the director if a teacher like me would refuse the promotion? I mean, it is a promotion that everyone wants, and who am I to reject it?”
Drake looked at Kira with his unbelievable expression, “You’re making things complicated,” He said.
“You know what Kira, you can’t keep on running away forever,” Drake added.
“Why won’t you face the person you keep on avoiding? Oh, the person that you were avoiding… was it your ex-lover?” Drake asked.
“What?!” Kira was stunned with Drake’s question.
“Oh,” Drake scratched his head.
“I just thought about this, all these years, you keep on refusing my love for you,” Drake said.
“Oh,” Kira lowered her head.
