Kira was setting up the table for dinner when the doorbell rang. She stopped what she was doing. She put down the utensils on the top of the table before she walks towards the front door.
She glanced at Yana who was playing with her toys in the living room. She peeked at the peephole on the door. She saw the man that Yana has been looking for, for the entire day.
Kira has a sigh of relief. She instantly opened the door.
“Hey,” The man greeted her.
He is holding a paper bag with his right hand.
“Hey. “Kira replied.
“Have you eaten your dinner yet?” She asked.
“Not yet,” The man replied.
“You’re just on time, I am getting ready for dinner,” Kira said.
“Where is Yana, anyway?” The man asked when he did not see the child.
“She’s playing in the living room,” Kira whispered.
“Ah,”
The man revealed a smile as he slowly entered the house.
“Where is my Princess?”The man said sweetly.
Yana stopped playing with her doll when she heard a familiar voice. The little child’s eyes lit up. She instantly got up from the floor and ran to the door.
“Daddy!” The child happily ran to the man.
“Hey, Yana!” The man kneels.
He put down the paper bag. He spread his arm and embraced the child.
“Daddy, i missed you so much!” The child said.
“Did you missed Papa?” The man asked the child.
The child looked at the man with her twinkling eyes as she nodded her head. The man carried the child and they headed to the living room.
Kira just smiled as she watched Yana and the man.
Kira carried the paper bag that the man was holding earlier.
“Have you been a good girl?” The man asked the child.
“Ennn!” The child nodded her head again.
“Good!” The man messed the child’s hair, “And because you’ve been a good girl, Dad has brought something for you!”
“Yehey!” The child clapped her hand happily!
Kira gave the paper bag to the man.
“Oh, it’s here!” The man said.
He slowly pulled out something from inside of the paper bag. Yana excitedly waited.
“It’s… Here!” The man showed two feet teddy bear from the paper bag.
“Wow!” Yana’s eyes lit up.
She excitedly stretched her hand to get the teddy bear!
The man gave the teddy bear to Yana, “Do you like it?” He asked.
Yana nodded her head a few times.
“Yana, what would you say to Dad?” Kira asked her daughter.
“Thank you, Dad!” Yana said.
The man pinched the child’s chin lightly, “You’re welcome, baby!” He said.
The man turned his attention to Kira.
“Have you not missed me?” The man asked as he throws a meaningful look to Kira.
“Tsss…” Kira just scoffed, “As if you’ve been gone for a long time!” She said with a faint smile on her face.
“Ugh!” The man complained.
“Couldn’t you pretend that you missed me?” He said as if throwing tantrums, but Kira just ignored him.
“Hey!”
“Stop acting like a child!” Kira scolded the man.

‘Ah,’ Kira twitched her mouth.
‘This man is being childish!’ she mumbled inside.
“Why you looked so inspired, anyway?” Kira changed the topic as she walks to the dining area to finish setting up the table.
“Ah,” The man leaned his back on the sofa.
“Maybe because I have achieved something?” The man’s eyes lit up!
“Really?” Kira turned her head to the man.
“Yes!” the man replied.
“What could it be?” Kira asked curiously.
“I have closed a contract!” the man proudly said.
Kira stopped putting a placemat in the table, ” You closed a contract?” She repeated.
“Yes!” the man said as he straightened his body.
“What contract?” Kira asked with her knitted brows.
“A partnership contract!” the man said.
“Oh, is that the reason why you went to Capital City?”
“Ennn…” the man nodded his head a few times.
“A client recommended me to this bus company, I just give it a try and thank God. They gave their trust to Carson’s. Carson’s will be one of their auto maintenance providers!”
Kira froze as she listened to the man’s story.
She has an odd feeling about this!
Kira cleared her throat before she speaks again, ” Ehem!”
Kira looked at the man, ” This… This company that you were talking about,” Kira paused for a moment.
“What… What bus company is this?”
The man smiled, “You won’t believe it, but they were one of the biggest bus companies in the country.” The man said.
Kira’s heart trembled, she already has the suspicion!
“Drake,” Kira called the man.
She gulped before she speaks again, “The….. The bus company that you were talking about… Is… Is it Far Travel Express under the Tan Corporation?” Kira asked anxiously.
(Flick!)
Drake flicked his finger!
“Bingo!” He said.
Kira’s heart skipped a beat. She felt like she lost her strength. Kira slumped on the chair. Her entire body was trembling.
Drake noticed Kira’s change of expression.
“H-Hey,” Drake called Kira.
“Are you alright?” He asked.
“W-Why didn’t you tell me?” Kira ignored Drake’s question.
“Because I want to surprise you!” Drake replied.
Kira doesn’t know what to do. She’s doing everything to avoid crossing paths with Tim, but the world seems too small for the both of them.
“Kira?” Drake called Kira when he noticed her in a daze.
“Is there any problem?”
“Are you not feeling well?” Drake asked.
“No,” Kira shook her head.
“I’m alright,”
“But you looked pale,” Drake commented.
“It’s… It’s nothing,” Kira replied with her gaze lowered.
Drake just stared at Kira, he doesn’t know why Kira suddenly act differently.

It was already late at night, but Kira couldn’t sleep. She turned her head to Yana who is fast asleep beside her. She took a deep breath as she ??r?sses her daughter’s hair, she felt bothered.
Now that Drake has a partnership with the Tan Corporation, she has a big chance to cross paths with Tim in the future.
Kira doesn’t know what she would do if that day would come. She doesn’t know how to face Tim.
Kira couldn’t sleep that night. She keeps on thinking about what Drake said to her.
‘Yeah, why do I keep on avoiding Tim?’ She asked her self.
Kira tried to observe her self. She knows, in her heart, she had already forgiven Tim’s father.
Kira took a deep breath. She has another reason why she doesn’t want to go back to the Capital City. Maybe, because she’s afraid of seeing Tim with another woman? She doesn’t want to bother him.
It was her promise to him, that if he finds another woman to love, she won’t bother them anymore. She was the one who said to Tim not to wait for her. She couldn’t blame him if he already finds another one to replace her.
Kira just sighs!
Drake was right, she can’t keep on running away forever. She should accept the truth that Tim is over with her.
Maybe it’s time for her to go back to the place where she grows up and face the people she left behind!

The next day, Kira went to the director’s office.
“Good morning, Mr. Hans,” Kira greeted the director.
“Ms. Li!” The director exclaimed when he saw Kira as soon as he lifted his gaze..
“I suppose, Ms. Li has already made up her decision?” Mr. Hans said.
Kira revealed a polite smile, “Yes. Mr. Hans.” She replied.
“I am accepting the promotion,” She added.
“Mr. Hans revealed a wide smile, ” Congratulations, Ms. Li, ” The director said.
“When will I start to work at the main campus, director?” Kira asked.
“The headteacher’s position has been vacant for a few weeks already. So, I think it would be better if you move next week.” The director said.

*In the living room at Kira’s apartment,*
“I’m sorry, auntie.” Kira apologized.
“I know it was sudden, but this is a big opportunity for me,” she explained to Aileen.
Aileen smiled at Kira, “You don’t need to apologize, Kira, I am glad that you accepted the promotion,” She said.
“Though I am lonely that you and Yana are leaving, I am still happy because I know it is for good,” Aileen added.
“Auntie, why won’t you come with us?” Kira suggested.
Aileen shook her head.
“I can’t do that,” she refused.
“No one’s gonna look after the apartment,” She added.
But there is a tinge of guilt flash Aileen’s eyes. She has another reason why she doesn’t want to go to the Capital City. She left that place a long time ago.
Kira sighs!
“Oh,” she blurted out.
“Don’t worry auntie, Yana and I will pay you a visit sometime,” Kira said.
“Oh, I’m going to miss this little kid,” Aileen said as she looked at Yana beside Kira.
