“So you’re acting funny just because you slept with Gift? Are you the first guy to sleep with a girl, stop acting as if you’re a kid” Elvis said to his friend
“I still can’t believe I slept with her, it happened so fast. I f—-d up, she is like a sister to me” His secretary walked in and dropped some files on his table and left.
“Is she your biological sister? Guy, it’s time you quit this pretence, how long will you continue to keep this to your self, I know you love this girl since she came into your house, but you stayed away from her because of your belief. Don’t you think this is the right time for both of you to be together?“ Elvis said going through the file on George’s table
George scratched his head and heaved a sigh, he picked his phone and dialled Gift’s number but it was still switched off.
“I can’t believe her phone is still switched off”
“why are you worried about her whereabout?,thought you don’t care”
“I want to apologize to her for what happened between us, I feel guilty“ he threw himself on the chair
The door to his office opened and his secretary walked in majestically.
“I’m sorry for interrupting sir, there’s a young lady out there waiting to see you,”
“Who is she? What is her name? Do I have an appointment with her? “he threw at her angrily
“I’m sorry sir, she said…. “the door opened and Thelma walked into the office, both Elvis and George were surprised to see her
“Good day handsome “she greeted George ignoring Elvis
“Excuse me ma, I said you should wait outside”
George signalled the secretary to leave,
“What are you doing here? Thelma, haven’t I made it clear to you that we can’t be together again?” he said angrily
“I only brought your lunch, I took out time to prepare this special dish for you ”
Elvis stood up and announced his exit
“I have an important meeting to catch up,Guy can I see you outside? “he said giving Thelma a stern look
The two friends went outside together
“I believe you know the right thing to do, don’t allow her beauty to deceive you, dismiss her immediately ”
“All I need now is true love and not someone like her, I know how to handle her, thanks guy for always being there for me, I will call you when I’m done with her”
George walked into the office with a stern look
“Thelma pick up your food flask and leave, I’m busy right now”he kept himself busy with the files on the table
She walked up to him seductively and placed her hands on his shoulders,
“Baby, haven’t I apologized enough, can’t you read the handwriting on the wall? We are meant to be together, first my marriage crashed, now your fiancee died, can’t you see this is God’s plan for us to be together ”
“Don’t you ever come close to me again, I hate it when I’m forced to hit a woman, but you’re pushing me to the wall”he rebuked her
“I love you George, can’t you see it in my eyes”
“I don’t love you, I”m in love with someone else, leave me alone, go back to your sugar daddies, you made it clear to me that you don’t like dating young guys, you’ve always preferred dating older men, why are you pestering me now?”
She was determined to seduce him, she forced her lips on his and tried kissing him, but he pushed her off his body and dragged her out of his office. He returned and threw her flasks at her. She was baffled and opened her mouth in shock,
“Get lost!!!!!!, and you“ he turned to the secretary
“Don’t ever allow her into my office again!!!!!”
The secretary couldn’t stop laughing at her, thank God everyone was out for lunch, she bent down and picked her properties and left the premises shamefully.

George and Elvis were tired of waiting for Gift in front of her hostel, they went to a nearby fast-food and bought snacks and drinks, they settled down in the car and ate. George checked the time and it was 6.59pm, he prayed that she would come out of her hiding place, he needed to apologize to her for what happened between them,
********** Gift walked to her hostel tirelessly, she was so tired that she didn’t notice the car parked in front of her hostel, Elvis saw her coming and came down from the car, he walked up to her and she was surprised to see him,
“Elvis, what are you doing here at this time of the day”she asked looking surprise
“I came to see you”he replied outrightly
“Why?” she threw at him
“Stop acting as if you don’t you don’t know what I’m talking about, why are you hiding from everybody including George, why the sudden disappearance? Is there something you’re hiding from us”
“No.. Oooooo, something like what?“ she stuttered
“anyway, George is hospitalized for the past knew week now, I think I should let you know as a close friend, “he turned and went back to the car, she followed him,
“Elvis, please can I come with you? I need to see him”she said not minding how late it was
“It’s late, maybe you can see him tomorrow, “he replied abruptly and continued his walk
“I don’t mind sleeping over at the hospital. Wait, I need to pick few things from my room”
He smiled inwardly and walked to the car happily, he told George what transpired between him and Gift.
She arrived minutes later, and entered the car, she was shocked to see George seated at the back seat,
“George!!!!!, What is going on here?“ she asked but it was already late as Elvis was already on the highway
“Where are you taking me to?” she asked him
“We are going to my house, we have a lot of issues to sort out” Elvis replied
“Why did you lie to me? I won’t forgive you for this”she cursed him under her breath

Thelma threw her phone on the bed angrily, she gulped down a glass of alcohol, her phone rang and she picked without checking the caller id,
“Thelma where’re you?“ a familiar voice asked her
“Debbie, can you stop checking on me as if I’m a kid, I’m in Lagos, I rented an apartment”
“Mummy is worried about you, we don’t think you’re safe there, please return to Abuja”
“I’m not in the mood to listen to your preaching, good night” she cut the phone on her sister
“What a bad day, I can’t believe George will throw me out of his life, I can’t be the loser here.“ She muttered to herself
Her doorbell rang, she went to answer it, she opened the door and saw a gun pointing at her,
“Remain calm or I blow your brains off!!!!!”
She covered her mouth with her hands
“Please don’t harm me,” she pleaded with a trembling voice.
“Quietly lock up your door and follow us to the car”
She obeyed them and did as they said, she locked up her door and followed them to the car trembling
She passed out immediately she entered the car.

“I’m sorry I lied to you, but I had to do it, there’s no need pretending that nothing happened, I know what happened between Both of you and I want you to stop acting like a kid” Elvis said Gift when they got to his house.
“Gift, I’m sorry for what happened, I never planned for that, I want us to remain close as we used to be, you’re a friend I wouldn’t want to loose” George added
They hugged each other and promised to be friends forever. They all went out and had dinner together.
