CHAPTER 8

“Why do you have to lose consciousness at a place like that, right now I feel like I’m gonna die” Kimora said, breathing heavily as she walked back to the palace with Tania on her back
“We eat same quantity of food everyday yet you’re heavy like this, what the he¢k is in your body” she breathed, adjusting Tania on her back
” After today you can’t follow me to the forest to look for herbs anymore, this is the last straw” she said, entering the palace
” What happened to Tania?” Headmaid said, rushing to meet her
“Lady Ambrosia, she fell in the forest and lost consciousness” Kimora replied, not wanting to tell her what really happened and thankfully she has wiped the bIood on Tania’s mouth
“Take her in fast” lady Ambrosia said
“I’m about to die, I can’t continue she’s too heavy” Kimora replied
Lady Ambrosia called a servant who carried Tania to her room
“Her temperature is normal” the palace physician said after checking her
“Her pulse is ok?” Kimora asked
“Perfectly ok, nothing is wrong with her” the physician replied and left
“Then why did she lose consciousness?” Lady Ambrosia said
“Maybe… maybe she’s just tired” Kimora replied
” It’s ok, we’re preparing candies for prince Jimin by noon, join me and the other maids in the kitchen an hour from now” lady Ambrosia said
” Yes headmaid” Kimora replied as she left
She sat beside Tania and held her hand
“The palace will be boring till you wake up, Please wake up fast” she heaved and stood
She left for her room and sat on the bed
” What just happened?, The kiwi tree got burnt?, Tania got rolled in the air till she was left unconscious, I heard a voice telling me to quit trying to help prince Jimin, everything is just so complicated, gosh!, Who am I?” She asked herself, standing up and walking to the mirror
She stood in front of the mirror and stared at her reflection
“Who am I?” She asked herself and saw a shocking transformation
Immediately she asked the question, her hair turned pure white and her eyeballs turned pink and the her robe changed to sparkling white, her nails grew longer and dangerous, her lashes grew longer too, she looks different!
“What’s this?, What’s happening to me?, This isn’t me” she said, checking herself out
” No…no this can’t be happening no!!!!!” She screamed and as she screamed, the mirror broke and shattered to bits on the floor
She shifted back and fell heavily
Three of the other maids rushed in and were surprised to see the broken mirror
“Kimora what’s wrong?”
“Why are you sitting on the floor and what’s that fearful look on your face?”
” Who broke the mirror?”
Of all the questions, she found it hard to answer even one as she slowly stood
“Am I .. normal right now?, My eyeballs are not pink?, My hair is not white?, I don’t look scary?” She asked, still breathing heavily
” What are you talking about?” One of them asked confusedly
Kimora slowly looked at herself and shockingly, her robe is back, the white robe is gone, her nails are back to normal too
She ran out of the room and went to Tania’s room to check out herself in her mirror
Her eyes are back to normal too and her lashes, her hair is back
She breathed heavily and sat on the bed quietly
“What’s happening to me?, Am I seeing things?, Was I hallucinating back then?, No I saw it right, I definitely saw it right…who am I?” She asked herself
” Time to make prince Jimin’s candies, come to the kitchen!” A maid said by the door
” Oh…ok” she replied, standing to leave the room

Queen Rachel stood in front of her mirror and picked a fan
She smiled shortly before fanning her face with it, the air the fan produced hit her face and lioness came to view in the mirror, it’s the new means of communication they devised last night
“Did you find her?, I mean the girl?” Queen Rachel asked
” I didn’t get to see her face yet, she went in search of something to help Jimin with this morning but I made sure she never got it, I’m yet to understand why there’s always a dark covering around her, a human was with her and even the darkness around the non-human affected the human cos her face wasn’t revealed too” lioness replied
” The King’s festival is coming up just two days from now, the day I’ll get release from this lock-in, Jung Mal made the rule that I won’t get to follow him but I want to, I can’t stand watching Sera with him that day” Rachel said
” You can go, use the face shifting technique” lioness said
” Oh, that’s just great” Rachel replied and sensed someone coming, she moved the fan again and lioness vanished from the mirror
“Mother!” Cal’s voice said from the door
” I’m in!” She replied and he came in
“Son” she smiled, hugging him
“I’m sorry you had to get locked up like this cos of those two” Cal said
” It’s ok, at least I have you even if Royalty is not being supportive” Rachel smiled
” Jimin is still battling with the illness, and that’s what I’m gonna use when the time comes” Cal said
” That’s right, Miryang belongs to you, not him” Rachel replied, backing him
” But who’s this creature in the palace?” She wondered loudly”
“What creature?” He asked
” A non-human, you need to start being cautious, lookout for any suspicious person” Rachel said
” A non-human?” Cal said surprisingly.

“That was one brilliant idea, it made the candies look more tempting” headmaid Ambrosia said, gently arranging the candies in a plate
“Thanks headmaid” she bowed
“You’ll be the one to take the candies to his room”
“What!, Headmaid…” Kimora said
” Are you rejecting my orders? ” Ambrosia said
“No headmaid but….
” No buts … Go, he’s not scary like Princess Suzy” Ambrosia said and Kimora reluctantly took the plate and placed it on a tray with a jug of water
She left the kitchen and started her slow walk to his room

Jimin’s room**
“I need to pee, don’t go out of this room till I’ll be back” Cory said to Jimin who’s staring out of the window
“Ok” he replied simply and Cory left
Jimin left the window and sat on the bed, he eventually slept on it and sleep took over him

DREAMLAND**
Jimin kept running through the thick woods and forest, he’s tired already but he kept doing it, hoping he won’t get caught
A lot of sweat is falling from his face and almost entered his eyes but he wiped it with his robe arm and continued running fast
He was disappointed when he got to the edge of a cliff, he can’t go back cos the enemy is chasing him and there’s no way he’d jump the cliff, that’s death, sure one
He stood on the edge of the cliff, trembling and shivering till his chaser arrived, queen Rachel, with an arrow in her hand, ready to fire him
“No please… Don’t kill me, don’t release the arrow on me I beg you” he pleaded fast
Rachel smiled devilishly and kept walking towards him
“You’re dead, no escape route” she said and tried to fire him with the arrow but time stopped immediately and everything came to a standstill
A girl appeared in their middle, wearing a spotless white robe, white hair, long lashes, long white nails and pink eyes
“The world is full of evil, the kind gets hurt a lot” she said, looking at the two of them
She took three steps towards Jimin and pulled him away from the edge of the cliff
With a wave of her hand, Rachel appeared on the edge of the cliff instead and the arrow is still hanging in the air in front of her
The girl released time and the arrow hit Rachel Immediately
“Aarrgh!!!” She screamed, falling off the cliff immediately
Jimin’s eyes widened as he watched the scene
“Don’t feel pity for her, wicked people don’t deserve pity” the girl said beside her, her pink eyes is just so beautiful, her white long hair makes her look more adorable and her long lashes added to her beauty, her beauty doesn’t look ordinary, it looks extraordinary and just too much
“Who are you?” He asked, staring at her
She came closer and started leaning in
“A…kss?” Jimin thought, closing his eyes but he can feel her breath brushing his ear
“Your guardian” she whispered in his ears and before he could open his eyes, she’s gone

END OF DREAM**
Jimin woke up sweating profusely and a great headache is pestering him
He held his head tightly
“What was that?, Like what…was it?” He asked himself
“Here with your candies your highness!” Kimora’s voice said from the door
” That voice…it resembles the voice of…..” Jimin said and spranged up from the bed
“Come in” he said quickly
Kimora who has a pretty smile on her face with a candy tray on her hands came in
“Greetings your highness” she bowed
Jimin never replied but just heaved
He sat on the bed as she placed the plate on the table in the room
“I’ll take my leave your highness” she bowed
“My head!” Jimin said, standing up and holding his head, the headache is splitting
“Your highness are you ok?’ Kimora asked with concern, stopping to watch him
“Aarrgh!!!” Jimin groaned, falling on the ground
Kimora rushed to him and knelt beside him
“Should I touch him?, Won’t that mean I’m trespassing?” She thought, watching him groaning painfully
“Ooo!, My head!’ he groaned again and right now tears is escaping the corner of his beautiful eyes
Kimora summoned courage and touched his arm, holding it lightly with a lot of concern on her face
“Are you ok?, Your highness” she asked and Jimin stopped groaning
It’s like her hands took away all the pains, the headache stopped immediately
“Touch his head” a voice said in kimora’s ears and that instant, she felt the urge to do that
Jimin stared at her as she slowly raised her hand to his head and held it slowly
“Close your eyes” she whispered and Jimin never argued, like it’s a command, he closed his eyes and the remnants of the headache flew off his system, he felt so relaxed, too relaxed so much that he fell into a deep sleep Immediately
The door opened and Suzy entered the room
“You dare touch the head of a prince?, You touched my brother’s head?, How dare you!, What did you do to him!” She barked angrily and Kimora quickly let go of his head
Jimin fell on the floor, sleeping soundly
Suzy rushed to him and felt his heartbeat, he’s breathing normally
Cory came in next and the next thing he felt on his cheeks is a sound $lap from Suzy
“Your highness” he said shockingly
“Where were you when this wtch came here!”
“I went to pee your highness” he replied
” Carry him and place him on the bed, cover him well” she ordered and Cory obeyed
” Guards!” She said and more than six guards rushed in
“Take her to the stone prison, she just committed a great offence” she ordered
” No I don’t want to go to prison!, Don’t do this to me your highness!, Please!!!” Kimora begged and screamed as she was taken out
Suzy faced Cory and heaved
“You should receive a punishment for letting this happen to him as his personal guard but I’m letting it go” she said coldly
” Thanks your highness” he bowed and the band he held his hair with fell off his hair, his long hair fell and Suzy held her breath
He looks more handsome with his long hair down like this
She stared for long before coming back to her senses, she quickly looked away
“Stay with my brother” she said and left the room
