Chapter Twenty One

HIGH SCHOOL MOM : CHAPTER 21 – 40

THE LUCAS’S MANSION*

Josh was seated in front of the laptop as typed hastily on the keyboards.

” Arrrrrgh” Josh groaned for the upteenth time as he couldn’t find any information.

He was actually searching for Asha through the Internet.

He has been searching for two hours now and has gotten no result. He couldn’t give up not just now.

No matter where she is, he would look for her and apologise. He couldn’t live with the guilt forever.

Maybe if he apologises to her then he would stop seeing her face every where.

After few minutes of rest, he resumed to work as he typed hastily on the computer.

He was searching for a girl with blonde hair, 5ft tall. Complemented with blue eyes.

He vividly remembered the day when he woke up and saw her nked under the duvet, she has blonde hair but now he searched through the internet and different girls popped on the screen.

” Fk, am so foolish… I don’t even know her name… How on earth can I find her if I don’t know her name?” He groaned as he roughed his hair.

” Let’s me patient Josh, just try again and who knows you might find her.” He assured himself.

He stretched his hands and sat upright going through the internet again.

SHOPPING MALL*

Prudent wandered around the whole mall feeling confused.

She had actually left home, coming for clothes shopping probably because her old clothes were too old and outdated.

She usually changes her clothes her clothes every three months because it would be outdated that time and she would feel uncomfortable in them.

She had wandered the whole mall and was feeling confused of what to buy.

” Ma’am is there anything wrong?” The bodyguard who escorted her asked and she shook her head side to side.

He was actually asking because she looked worried right now and he nodded to know what the problem is so he could help in a way he can. He didn’t want to lose his job, he has family to feed.

” No, it’s nothing, am fine.” She replied and started taking walking round the mall again when she bumped into a guy.

Because of the sudden bump, her handbag she was holding fell but luckily there was no scratch on it and she was happy.

She wasn’t worried about the phone because she couldn’t buy a new one but because this one was her favorite.

She was already fuming in anger and she felt like sIapping the living he.ll out of the person’s brain.

The guy bent and picked her phone. He passed it to her and she gasped seeing the guy she bumped into.

” Jace?” She called with a smile.

” Am sorry for bumping into you, I didn’t mean it.” He replied and she smiled widely.

” No, it’s ok, I wasn’t angry anyways.” She said. ” So what are you doing here?”

” I came to get something, I will get going now.” He replied and made to go when she held him by his arm.

He gave her a cold glare and she removed her hands from his grip. He then gave her a questioning look.

” The thing is…since you wanted to buy something, why don’t you just take whatever you want…the bill is on me.” She said with a smile and she scoffed.

” Seriously? Did I mention it to you that I have no money with me?”

” No… it’s not…”

” Just shut it Prudent and stop making someone seem like a begger!” He half yelled before walking away.

At the other side of the mall camdan was seen alongside with Nicole as he kept staring at the beautiful dresses in front of him.

In the morning when he came to work he had told Nicole that they will be going out for shopping and she agreed.

She was so happy, she couldn’t believe she was going out for shopping with her boss,The guy she admired so much.

” Sir, aren’t you going to choose a dress?” She asked. She was getting tired already because they had been in the mall for almost an hour and he hasn’t ordered any dress.

” Why do you think I brought you here Nicole?” He asked and she gave him a questioning look.

” What dress do you think is best for a date?” He asked and she gasped inwardly. She was blushing so hard but she tried her best to cover it.

She couldn’t believe her crush was indirectly asking her out on a date, she would give him the best dress to buy after all she was the one going to wear it.

She walked over to where the clothes were hanged and picked out a plain red gown.

” I think this one is better.” She said smiling widely. ” It would look beautiful on the special lady.”

Camdan took the dress from her and imagined seeing Asha in it. He was actually planning to take Asha on a date, that was why he called Nicole to go shopping with him because he didn’t know anything about what a lady would like.

“she would look like an angel”. He said and Nicole nodded.

” Yes, should I try it?” She asked and he furrowed his brows at first but later broke into a smile.

He has been smiling since morning and it shocked Nicole and the staffs at hiswork place but nobody dared to question.

” Sure,try it on” he said and after few minutes she came out looking breathtaking.

The gown reached right under her knee and it slit at the back made it more beautiful.

Camdan stared at it and he smiled widely. Nicole was looking beautiful which means Asha will be looking more beautiful.

” Alright…pack it up.” He said and after a while they packed the dress in a fancy paper bag. He paid and they left.

HONEY SALT’S KITCHEN*

Camdan entered the restaurant and searched for Asha with his eyes.

He caught her and waved his hands trying to get her attention.

Without wasting so much time, she walked over to his chair with a mop in her hand.

” Good evening Mr camdan.” She said and he smiled.

” What is it you want? As you can see am busy.” She said and without a word he handed the fancy paper bag to her.

She opened it and a gasp escaped her lips.

” Am sorry but I can’t accept this.” She said and his face fell immediately.

” Why if I may ask?”

” Because, I just can’t… am Sorry.” She replied and made to leave when he held her hand.

He doesn’t want her to be angry with him…not now and ever. She was his joy and he couldn’t deny it any longer.

” Ok, just take it as a birthday gift.” He said.

” My birthday was three months ago.”

” Then just take it as a normal gift from me please…I just want us to have fun tomorrow.”

” Fun?” She asked and he replied with a nod.

” I want to take you out on a date Asha and i would love you to wear this dress tomorrow.” He said and she widened her eyes in surprise.

SETTINGS (place) Las Vegas… Spain.

Prologue

Las Vegas…10th March 2018

The cries and pleadings of people could be heard in a small but portable house.

” Mom, please don’t go” Asha cried as she knelt down beside her younger sister begging their mother endlessly.

Their mother stood at the entrance of the house as she held her waist with one of her hand, while the other clutched on her luggages tightly like it’s soon going to be snatched by a thief.

” If I don’t go, where do you want me to stay?” She asked and chuckled lightly before she continued.

” Don’t tell me you want me to stay with this good for nothing crippled father of yours” she said as she looked at their father who was seated on a wheelchair as usual.

” Alora, why are you doing this?” Their father asked in a cracked voice. Tears could be seen in his eyes.

” Am leaving williams, am leaving this house. It was a grave mistake I made by getting married to you!” She yelled and added

” Am fed up williams, you no longer have money and I can’t keep on suffering. Look at me am not even up to fifty but my skin is getting wrinkled…Am sorry williams but am done!” She said as she carried her luggages leaving the house.

Asha was about going after her mother but the cry of her baby stopped her. She ran to the couch where her baby was laid and carried her. Being a 16 year old, she knew nothing about taking care of a baby.

That was the reason she needed her mom but her mom left them instead. She tried her best and cooed her baby back to sleep.

Life has always been unpredictable and that’s why most people turn out to be what you never expect.

Everyone wants to go to school, graduate, have a good job and get married to someone they love but, that’s not the case of Asha Davenport.

Ever heard of a mom going to high school? It’s kinda weird right?

Well, that’s Asha Davenport, she had an encounter with a stranger and that resulted into pregnancy. She took it upon herself to go to school no matter the circumstances.

What do you think will happen in this novel?

Well, let’s meet our characters.

FEMALE LEAD :

Asha Davenport:- A 20 years old single mom with blonde hair, 5ft tall. Complemented with blue eyes and a nice personality, calm and cheerful.
An high schooler that does all kinds of job to make sure she tends to the need of her family especially her daughter.

MALE LEAD :

Josh Lucas:- A 25 years old with dark brown hair, 5ft6 tall, strong abs. Complemented with dark brown eyes and an unpredictable personality.
A guy of few words, he prefers his personal space. And the second son of the Lucas’s Empire.

SUPPORTING CHARACTERS

Camdan Lucas:- A 27 years old and an elder brother to Josh Lucas.

Tasha Dennis:- A 24 years old high standard brat with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. A fiancee to Josh Lucas.

Prudent Davenport:- An high schooler with blonde hair, Funny and sweet personality. A younger sister to Asha Davenport…17 years old.

Nicole Brown:- A 25 years old complemented with brown eyes, dark brown hair and an elder sister to Jace brown.

Jace Brown:- An high schooler and a younger brother to Nicole Brown…17 years old.

Otto Benjamin:- An high schooler and a best friend to Asha Davenport… 18 years old.

Leo Morris:- An high schooler and the only son of the Treasure enterprise….18 years old.

Chapter One
(Her work place)

HONEY SALT’S KITCHEN*

Orders kept coming in as Asha kept serving different tables. Today was different from other days, customers tripped in and out.

Asha quickly ran to the second table and asked them what they wanted to order, when they said it, she jotted it down on her little jotter and ran towards the next table.

There were lot of customers today because when Asha was taking an order from a table, other customers kept on yelling “waitress!” and she found it really tiring.

Though the two other waitress were helping with the order but it felt like they aren’t going to finish anytime soon because the customers kept increasing.

” Asha!” Her colleague Lucy called and she quickly took orders before running to Lucy. She was breathing heavily with her chest heaving high and low, one could tell she was tired.

” Here is the meal you ordered for” Lucy said as she handed the tray of food to her. She works in the kitchen with the others while Asha takes orders.

” Thanks…lest I forget, those are the orders on the jotter, we need more food thank you” Asha said and quickly walked away going to serve.

Almost reaching there, her phone rang making her halt on her track. She pulled the phone out of her pocket, using the other hand to hold the tray.

She checked the caller ID and quickly answered the call.

? Good day miss Vivian. I already know what you want to say, I will come early today.

? Alright Asha.

She said and hanged up. Asha breathed out in relief.

She walked to the table and placed the tray of food on it.

” Anything else ma’am?” She asked and the woman looked at her in disgust before shaking her head sideways.

She felt embarrassed, is it because of her dressing? But nothing is wrong with her dressing.

Being the cheerful girl she is, she just let out a smile.

” Alright ma’am” she muttered before walking to the next table to take orders.

HIGH SCHOOL MOM : CHAPTER 1 – 20

LUCA’S EMPIRE*

Conference room….

The conference room was already filled with the conferees as they were seated round a table.

The atmosphere was dull and everyone noticed it.

No one dared to utter a word, they were all waiting for the ceo to speak up.

The ceo was seated in the head seat facing the the board members. They were just adjusting their suits. They have been adjusting their suits since they got to the conference room.

The ceo stared at all the board members expressionlessly as usual. He wasn’t the type to smile or mess around anyways.

The man who was supposed to present was standing in front of the Airtame. He was also waiting for the ceo to speak up before he proceeds.

After close to thirty minutes of silence, the ceo clears his throat and opened a file that was kept on the table in front of him.

” Report to me” He finally said and the presenter looked at him before speaking.

” Mr camdan our products have reached different countries and have been rated five stars in every app and every form of social media and….”

” How far has our products reached?” Camdan asked sharply cutting him off.

” Our furnitures has reached top five world wide and it’s taking lead in Poland, turkey, vietnam and few others” He explained and camdan nodded in satisfaction.

The board members also smiled in satisfaction, they are happy since camdan is happy with the result. Nobody wants a day off that might turn to forever.

The presenter was actually burning inside, there seems to be a question he doesn’t have an answer for yet.

” Is there something else I need to know?” Camdan asked as if he could read the presenter’s mind.

” Yes sir, the chinese ambassador wants to make a deal with us, so I was…”

” Cancel all meetings with them and tell them we are not interested” Camdan said cutting him sharply and continued
” They are going to stab us in the back once we become one and I don’t want that. so do as I say, meeting dismissed”

After the meeting was dismissed, Camdan was on his way home when his phone rang. Checking the caller ID he sighed before answering the call.

? Hey mom.

? Hey darling, how are you doing?

? Am fine mom, anything the matter?

? Is it a crime to call my son and ask how he’s doing?

? No mom.

? Good, so meet me at honey salt’s kitchen, their food is amazing. I will be expecting you.

She said and hanged up without waiting for his reply.

Camdan sighed as he rubbed his temple tiredly. His mom is such a drama queen. What does she want to tell him this time?

He walked over to his car, his driver opened the door and he got inside.

” Where to sir?”

” Honey salt’s kitchen” he replied and the driver started the car and took off.

HIGH SCHOOL MOM : CHAPTER 1 – 20

HONEY SALT’S KITCHEN*

Mrs lucas was already seated and waiting for her son. She would glance at her wrist watch and then outside the window to check if there’s any sight of him.

She wants to see him badly, it’s been a while she last saw him.

After few minutes he arrived at the restaurant, she waved at him trying to signal him where she was seated.

” Sorry am a bit late” Camdan said as he sat down.

” It’s ok” she replied with smile. ” Am just happy you are here, it’s been a while. You’ve refused to come home and you hardly eat a thing, Look at how skinny you’ve become. You make me worry all the time.”

” Am sorry for getting you worried” he quickly apolgised and she slapped his arm slightly.

” You don’t need to apologize, am your mom so I will worry, it’s my duty to worry.”

” Ok, so we are here to eat right?” He asked. “I can’t see any food.”

” Don’t worry about that, I’ve already ordered for you, I know what you like.”

After fifteen minutes the waitress arrived with the meal. Of cause it came fast. The meal was numerous and it’s aroma filled the air.

It was indeed what he likes, he nodded in satisfaction and his mom just smiled. She knew he was happy, But he has always been the type who hardly expresses his feelings.

” Anything else ma’am?” The waitress asked and camdan diverted his gaze at her. She was indeed beautiful and charming. He has never stared this long at a girl before but this person standing here caught his attention.

” No dear, we are ok” Mrs lucas replied and the waitress bowed before leaving.

He stared at her till she was put of sight before he faced the meal that was placed in front of him.

” They know nothing about us, that’s why I like local restaurants. Not the fancy one that once we enter inside everyone will start whispering” She said and he replied with a hmmm.

” Quickly eat your food”

” Aren’t you eating?” He asked and she smiled.

” I’ve already eaten, so now eat”

At least he cared about her and that made her happy.

” Your brother is coming tomorrow” She said after few minutes of silence and continued

” Your father is at it again, I don’t know why he wants that boy to come home. I thought he will stay in spain forever, when he comes avoid him at all cost.”
