CHAPTER 42
Atlas didn’t show a sign of fear, his eyes locked onto hers. “Of course, yes,” he replied, his voice steady.
“What could it be?” she asked, her long dark fingers raising, her claws gleaming in the flickering light.
Atlas didn’t flinch. “I need more powers from you,” he requested, his voice firm. Malicia let out a horror laughter.
“You want more powers?” she repeated, her voice dripping with amusement. “You’re bold, I’ll give you that.” She grinned chuckling sarcastically.
“We agreed that I’ll be the one to possess the power” Emperor Sebastian interrupted.
“Well, I changed my need……I want to end Augustus myself” he grinned.
Sebastian folded his fist, he was glaring hard at Atlas.
He wouldn’t have done this when the shaman suggested it, now it is out of hands, he can’t back off.
“Why will you want to end your own brother” Malicia asked, a smirk playing on her lips.
“He stole the throne away from me and I won’t stop till I get it back” he boasted.
Malicia creaked more loudly shaking the entire woods.

YONGJING KINGDOM
PALACE KITCHEN
Aurora was busy chopping vegetables slowly alongside Madam Eloise in the kitchen, her hands moving swiftly.
The warm sunlight streaming through the windows cast a cozy glow over the bustling kitchen.
Suddenly, Aurora’s felt weak, and she winced in pain, her eyes squeezing shut as a sharp headache struck her like a lightning bolt.
She has been feeling weak and drowsy ever since she woke up but she didn’t know why.
“Ouuuu…” she groaned, her hands flying to her head as if to shield herself from the debilitating pain.
Madam Eloise’s concerned face appeared in front of her, her hands reaching out to touch Aurora’s forehead. “What’s wrong, Aurora?” she asked, her voice soft with worry, her eyes scanning Aurora’s pale face.
Aurora opened her eyes, her brow furrowed in discomfort, her gaze unfocused. “I don’t know, but this sudden headache struck me,” she replied, her voice weak, her body swaying slightly as if she might collapse.
Madam Eloise’s fingers pressed against Aurora’s forehead, her eyes widening in alarm as she felt the intense heat emanating from her skin.
“Oh my, Aurora, you’re burning up!” she exclaimed, her voice laced with concern. “You have a high temperature. You need to rest.”
Aurora sighed, her body feeling heavy and weak, her mind foggy. “I feel dizzy and a little tired too,” she admitted softly, her eyes drooping as if the effort of speaking was too much for her.
Madam Eloise’s expression turned firm, her hands grasping Aurora’s shoulders as she guided her towards the door. “You should rest today, Aurora. I’ll serve the emperor today,” she urged, her voice brooking no argument.
Aurora nodded, her energy draining from her body, her legs feeling like lead. “Thank you, Madam Eloise,” she whispered, her eyes already closing as she turned to leave the kitchen, her feet dragging as if she were pulling a heavy weight behind her.

PALACE GARDEN
Sapphire strolled through the garden, her eyes scanning the lush greenery until they landed on the fruit trees.
Her face lit up with excitement as she spotted the apple tree, its branches heavy with juicy red apples. She hastened her pace, her hands reaching out as if to grab the fruit from afar. But as she drew closer, her enthusiasm faltered.
The tree seemed to stretch up to the sky, its branches tauntingly out of reach.
Sapphire pouted, her lower lip jutting out in disappointment. She placed her hands on her hips, her eyes fixed on the fresh apples.
“How did Aurora get these apples yesterday?” she wondered aloud.
Just then, a voice interrupted her. “Do you need help?” Astrid’s deep tone sent a shiver down her spine.
Sapphire’s eyes widened as she turned to face him, her heart skipping a beat.
What was he doing here?
She faced front back ignoring him when he spoke again.
“Do you need help, shorty” He asked mockingly.
She squared her shoulders, her eyes flashing with defiance. “I’m not short, and I don’t need your help. I can climb this tree myself.” Her voice was laced with determination, but her eyes betrayed her doubt.
Astrid chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. “Okay then, go on.” He folded his arms across his chest, his eyes never leaving hers.
Sapphire’s face flushed as she realized she couldn’t climb the tree. Her pride wouldn’t let her admit it, though.
She took a step forward, her hands grasping for the trunk. But her foot slipped, and she lost her balance. Astrid’s arms caught her, his hands wrapping around her waist as he pulled her close.
