‘Why is the house so quiet?’ Ethan wondered as he walked into the mansion.
The house is not normally noisy but it was more like a burial group this night.
He ignored it and decided to go into his room but he stopped when he saw Julia talking to a man who was wearing a doctor’s white gown. You know all those gowns.
‘ Who is that? ‘he asked no one as he walked closer, he could hear their conversation it was about a boy but he didn’t know what was wrong.
Julia bowed respectfully as she saw him and the doctor stopped talking to turn around, he bowed too when he saw the president.
“Good evening Your Excellency” the doctor who goes by the name John greeted
” Evening” he responded before satisfy his curiousity with a question. ” What brings you here by this time of the night? ” It was not that late but it was late enough too
” I was a called to come and attend to your brother” doctor John answered
” My brother? What happened to him? He was healthy when I left this morning” He said trying to his the fact that he is scared of what could happen.
Thousands of thought ran through his mind, was he poisoned, food poisioning is common among the politicians, that was how their parents was murdered.
Did he get hurt while playing? What exactly could have happen and why was he not informed? That is the least of his worries he need to see his brother.
“Make sure he takes his medicine, I will take my leave now” doctor John said before bowing to Ethan and he walked away.
” What happened to him?” Ethan asked as he walked into Tommy’s room with Julia behind her.
The room was decorated with Superman and flash stuffs, Tommy is a fan if Superman and Spider-Man, he would force Ethan to watch the movie with him when he was not a s busy as he is, I mean when he was not the president.
Their days then we’re beautiful unlike now that they have issues here and there.
“How did he become like this?” Ethan asked sitting beside Tommy on the bed, his skin was looking all white and his lip was literally purple.
“It was the first lady” Julia started as she could not help but cry as she explained everything to Ethan who listened patiently.
“What did the doctor say?” He ask. Julia wipe her face as she sniff before answering him. “He said he’s going to be fine but he needs to be in a warm place all the time and use his medicine on time”
” Do me the favor of sleeping with him tonight, I don’t want his condition to get worse” he said standing up
” As you wish Your Excellency” she bowed and he walked out of the room.
Julia wondered how a nice and gentle soul like him got entangled with Ariel who is nothing but a she-d’vil.

“Why did you do that? You know the boy can’t swim, what if he died? What are you going to do? What will you tell His Excellency?” Blair bombarded Ariel with questions.
She was not around when the incident happen, she went to the supermarket to get some groceries.
“Stop yelling okay, he’s fine, he’s not dead” Ariel said sounding less concerned
” Seriously” they heard a voice and they both turned around immediately
“Your Excellency” Blair bowed while Ariel rolled her eyes.
” He is not dead? That is all you can say? Were you wishing him dead? Huh?
You want him dead and you can’t take the fact that he is alive do you just pushed him into the pool to end him?” Words rushed out of his mouth with so much anger
“Your Excellency that’s not the case what happened was…”….. ” Shut up! Shut your mouth up” Ethan roared cutting her off whatever it was she wanted to say.
Ariel knew he was angry, so angry that he could do anything to her at this moment but she still didn’t care.
“Ariel!” He screamed. “I am right here okay and I can hear you loud and clear you don’t have to yell my name I don’t have ear problem” She utter nonchalantly
” What?!” Ethan stared at her in disbelief
“First lady” Blair call trying to tap her but Ariel gave her a deadly glare which made her withdraw her hand.
“You are pure evil” Ethan said. Ariel chuckle as she stand up. ” I am not but you are, I told you to let me go but you would not listen, maybe your brother won’t be in that situation if you had let me go”
” How can you speak like that Ariel?” He asked with his voice breaking. ” Just how can you act so inhumane?”
After a short silence he said. ” I can sue you for attempted murder, you know?”
“Your Excellency” Blair tried to speak but quickly shut up when she felt the atmosphere in the room.
“Go ahead, I have nothing to lose but you, you have almost everything to lose, should I count?” She ask and countined anyway. ” Your reputation, your family, your position, your power” she count with her fingers and stopped with a smirk on her face.
“I think I should stop you might die from shock and I will be left to take care of your pathetic brother” she said and turn to Blair. ” Follow me”
She walked out of the room with an angry expression while Blair followed after bowing to Ethan.
Ariel was right he will lose almost everything he has if he tries to file a case against her and the reporters will have more to things to talk about.
He just need to ignore her for the meantime she’s hopeless.
………….. Grace house
I was washing some clothes when Monica sat beside her on a small stool.
“What are you doing outside? You should go back inside, I will soon be done” I said and she nodded

Few minutes later I asked. ” Don’t you have any assignments?”
“I am done with it” she answered. I stopped washing and studied her expression before asking. “Do you have something to tell me?”
“Yes” she answered. ” Tell me, what’s the problem?” I asked facing her
” About my decision” she said and paused. ” I have”….. I cut in ” look Monica I don’t want you to feel pressured or anything, if you don’t want me to go I will gladly stay, because I love you guys”
” That’s not it, you can go” she said and I stared at her for a moment before asking. “Are you sure?”
“I know I don’t want you to go at first but after giving it a deep thought, you really should go” she said and I smiled
” Alright” that was all I said
…………… The next morning
We were seated at the dining table, it was silent I have no idea why but everyone seems to be lost in her own thought.
“Guys” I called and they raised their head. “I have decided to take the job” I said
“When are you leaving?” April asked
” I am not sure yet but soon I guess” I said and she nodded
” Can we come visit you?” Monica asked and I can tell that her decision was not from the heart but what can we do we need the money and I am tired of seeing Kiara’s face everyday.
“I am not sure but I doubt it” I said and she nodded sadly.
I called the first lady on my way to the agency and she said she will send her driver to come pick me up.
