Episode 29
“Ariel?!” Ethan called as he buttoned his shirt, he has been awake for almost an hour but Grace was still showing no sign of waking up.
“It’s morning, aren’t you going to have breakfast?” He asked as he checked himself out in the mirror.
” Tommy is waiting for you” he lied hoping that will get her out of bed but it didn’t work.
He sighed and walked towards the bed, he remove the duvet with the plan of taking her to the bathroom, she will open her eyes then.
He bent to carry her but he felt like he touched fire. She was freaking hot, it was like she’s lying beside a volcano or even a volcano itself.
“Ariel!” He called aloud shaking her body but she wasn’t responding. “Oh my goodness! What am I going to do?” He wondered as he stared at her paled face.
He quickly rushed out of the room only to bump into Blair, “good mor” she was cut short by his loud voice. “Get a doctor immediately!” He yelled and she stood dumbfounded.
He turned to walk back into the room but when he noticed she’s not moving he snapped, “I’m I speaking gibberish?”
“No your Excellency, is something wrong?” She asked.
” One more minute there and you will lose your life, get a doctor!” He yelled before rushing back into the room.
He covered Grace with two duvet, she’s not moving not even her eye lashes. She was just burning, her temperature is enough to boil water.
He ran his hand through his hair as he tried to think of a solution, what can he do to get her back into conciousness or even reduce her temperature.
He took his phone and dialed the doctor’s number, he wasn’t picking up which made him more angry.
“Darn it! What am I going to do?” He asked no one as he sat beside Grace. “Ariel? Ariel! Can you hear me?” He asked holding her face but she wasn’t moving.
He rushed to the bathroom and came back with a wet towel, he placed it on her head but she still showed no sign of life.
He started wiping her face, he moved the duvet away and started rubbing her arm. He raised her top and started wiping her stomach, he noticed a scar below her chest but he ignored it.
He might not have seen Ariel nkedness often but he knows she doesn’t have a scar. She was born with silver spoon she didn’t get hurt.
How did she suddenly have a scar, he was still wondering when the door opened and a female doctor walked in.
“Your exc” she bowed but couldn’t finish her sentence when Ethan scream, “leave the courtesy and attend to her”
She rushed towards Grace and checked her temperature, she was really hot! She took a syringe and inject her.
She gave her another one and asked them to switch off the AC. She removed the wet towel from her stomach and gave it to Blair.
“Get another wet towel or bring a bowl of water” she ordered Blair and she rushed out of the room immediately.
Ethan just stared at Grace who wasn’t moving, the doctor noticed the look on his face and smiled softly.
“She’s going to be fine” she assured, “what’s wrong with her? She’s not moving” he asked.
“She’s just weak, she’s going to be fine. Make sure to give her food when she wakes up” she requested and he nodded.
” Are you sure she will wake up soon?” He asked and she nodded. He sighed and went to sit beside her.
” Call me if anything happens” she said packing her things. “I will take care of her” Blair volunteered as she dropped the bowl and wanted to place the wet towel on her head when Ethan held her hand.
“It’s fine, keep the doctor company. She needs to be here until she wakes up” he said with his gaze still on Grace and his hand on Blair’s.
” Alright” she muttered and slowly withdrew her hand before walking the doctor out.
Ethan started rubbing her face when his mind drifted back to the scar, *she keeps a lot of things from me, she must have got that recently* he concluded in his mind
He stopped cleaning her body with the wet towel and took his phone, he had no idea when he put it on silent, there were tons of messages and missed calls.
There was a message from the Senator, it was a video of people protesting. They were destroying things.
“This is getting worse” he mumbled as he threw his phone on the bed. He is frustrated, nothing is working in his favor. His wife is sick, his Country is collapsing. What on Earth did he do wrong?
He was still lost in thought when he received another message, it was another video of people leaving the country.
He sent a message to the vice President to inform everyone that there is an emergency meeting.
He pecked Grace forehead about to leave when her phone rang. It was Monica that was calling.
He was hesitant at first but he finally picked it, “hello” he said with the phone on his ear
” Hey” Monica said excited.

April groaned as she sat up on the couch, her head h urts like h’ll as she stared around.
She remembered fighting with her sister, leaving the house. Then coming to Rob’s house.
“Finally, you woke up!” Missy voice made her flinch.
“Who are you?” She asked moving back slowly.
“Me? I’m your sister in-law” she replied with a smirk.
” Sister in-law?” April repeated and she nodded. “How long have I been asleep?” She asked
” A day and half or a whole day, I think” she shrugged and April took a handful of her hair.
“Brother said you shouldn’t stress yourself that you have three days leave” she informed and Ariel nodded “he is seriously dating someone from his work place” she mumbled walking away with her hands folded underneath her chest.
April stood up and tried to walk but she fell on the couch. Her body is weak, she hasn’t eating anything great and sleeping for a whole day, she sure is tired.
The more she tried to get up the more she fell back, Missy just stood at a distant watching her try and fail.
She smirked and April turned to look at her, “need some help?” She asked and April nodded slowly.
