“What?” Lonrenzo and Dreyfus exclaimed in unison.
“Keep quite, l said what l should, it left for you two l know you both are smart and would have figured out what am trying to tell you” master said.
“Thank you master” Thank you master” they both said.
“Lonrenzo make sure you two set out on the mission l assigned to you, l don’t know why l always help you guys when it comes to that demon girl, the earlier she dies the better for everyone” master said and disappeared.
I sighed and ran my hands through my hair.
“Have you noticed that although master keeps encouraging you to kill Clarissa he has a soft spot for her” Dreyfus said and l chuckled.
“What are you saying? I don’t think so, master is just concerned about us and Skylar not Clarissa, master badly wants Clarissa dead” l said.
“I don’t think so, l think master have a soft spot for her” Dreyfus argued.
“Now isn’t the time to argue over irrelevant things, master has made it easier for us and everything still revolves in finding Clarissa.
We have to go to the palace, we have to manipulate the prime minister’s wife into saying the truth and we are gonna do it in a way that my father won’t hear of it.”
“Okay don’t forget we still have to look for one more person” Dreyfus said.
“Yes uncle Noah.”
“Let’s go to the palace” l said and held hands with Dreyfus and we teleported.
We arrived the palace and l saw my mom with some maids walking towards our direction.
“Let’s hide quickly”l told Dreyfus.
“Why do you hate seeing your mother, when last did you see her?” Dreyfus asked.
“Let’s not talk about it” Lonrenzo said as he squeezed me in.
“Ouch!” Dreyfus cried.
“Is she still there?” I asked and peeped.
“She is still there, let’s go out and greet her” Dreyfus suggested and l glared at him.
“Lonrenzo! She is looking around, l think she senses you”Dreyfus said.
“Fk! Lonrenzo cussed as the empress was walking to there direction.
“She is coming towards us Lonrenzo, what should we do?”
“That woman can’t cease to amaze me, she even sensed me from afar” Lonrenzo said.
“Let’s come out and stop hiding like criminals” Dreyfus said and hissed.
“Lonrenzo dear” came my mother’s voice as she walked close to our hide out.
Geez! This woman.
“Let’s come out already” Dreyfus said and came out and l followed him out.
“I sensed it, l knew you where here my son” mother said and engulfed me in a hug.
” I missed you so much son, you don’t come to see your mother,l don’t remember when last l saw you, you have grown alot my dear” she kept blabbing.
“Mom, l can’t breathe” l said and she released me immediately.
“Come with me my dear, let’s have dinner together” she said.
“Your highness” Dreyfus said and bowed.
“Oh! My dear, how are you doing?” Mom asked Dreyfus.
“Am fine, your highness” he replied.
“Come with us, let’s have dinner together” mom said.
“Mom, l don’t think we can have dinner, we came for a very important matter.
“Lonrenzo, what have l done to deserve this, why can’t you spend a little time with your mother?”
“Mom, l promise to come some other time but today isn’t a good day, please mother l need to hurry” l said and grabbed Dreyfus hands.
“Bye Mom” l said and we teleported.
“Where are we?” Dreyfus asked.
“My quarters dumbass” l replied.
“Is not my fault, when last did l come here? It been decades”l said.
“Decades, hahahaha! Decades!” Lonrenzo laughed.
“That’s what happens when you are friends with a prince who hates his palace” Dreyfus said and we laughed.
“My prince” my personal bodyguard said and bowed.
“Rise! Where is the prisoner?”
“She is the prison but been unconscious” t he said worriedly and we chuckled.
“Lead the way l want to see her” l said.
“Yes your highness”he said and led the way.
“Your highness” the guards watching the prison all bowed on seeing me.
“Rise! Get a maid to prepare a drink for me” l said to one of the guards and he left immediately.
“You all should leave, you can come back to your post after l leave” l said.
“Yes your highness” they chorused.
“Let’s go in” l said and we entered.
She was lying unconscious.
“Dreyfus wake her up” l said and he did.
She coughed slightly and looked around.
“Where am l?” She asked no one in particular.
Then she looked up and met my eyes.
“My prince” she called and bowed slightly.
“Am trying my best to respect you,due to the fact that you are the prime minister’s wife but l don’t think l can keep up with that anymore, so l want you to answer my questions accordingly.”
“Where did you hide her?”
“I….I….I don’t know anything my prince please l really don’t know where she is” she said.
“Really?”l asked.
“Yes my prince” she replied as she gasped, she held her neck as she coughed terribly.
“I know you are lying, and am gonna choke you to death” l threatened.
“Let’s go Dreyfus” l said as she kept coughing terribly.
“Wait my prince” she called and we turned to look at her.
“Your highness” a maid bowed with a cup of juice on her tray.
Dreyfus took the juice from the tray.
“You may leave” Dreyfus said and the maid left.
“Please stop it l …. will….say it” she stammered and held her neck.
“Release her crown prince, if she keeps lying, then we will have to make use of this” Dreyfus said and pointed to the cup of juice in his hand.
I released her immediately as she coughed and gasped for air.
“Where is she?”we asked.
“The state perspector.”
“What!”
“The state perspector took her, l wanted her dead, but the state perspector pleaded l should hand her over to him, at that time she was already unconscious.”
“So?”
“I refused to hand her over to him, because l wished she could die, l want her dead, she is gonna ruin you my prince.
I know she isn’t a slave girl in your eyes, l know what she means to you, you have to stay away from her please l beg you” she said and l chuckled.
“So you knew what she means to me? If you really knew what she means to me, then you wouldn’t have locked her up in an underground prison and how did you know about her ruining me?
Why are you pleading for me to stay away from her?whether she ruins me or not is none of your business me” l said.
“Please my prince stay away from her” she said and started to cry.
“Stop crying and tell me where the he..ll she is” l yelled.
“The state perspector insisted l hand her over else he was gonna expose my secret.”
“Since when did this happen?” Dreyfus asked.
“It was before you came for her” she replied.
“You mean Clarissa is currently with the state perspector?”l asked.
“Yes your highness” she replied and l slapped her across the face.
“Lonrenzo!” Dreyfus yelled.
“She is the prime minister’s wife for fk sake what are you doing?” Dreyfus asked.
“Shut up Dreyfus” l said.
“This lady is evil” l said and she started to cry more.
“Now l want to hear the secret that you are hiding so badly that makes you hand over Clarissa so easily.
“I can’t say it please my prince you can’t hear of it” she said.
“Is it that you can’t say it or l can’t hear it?”
“You can’t hear it” she replied.
“Lonrenzo let’s leave and go find Clarissa, stop wasting time with her” Dreyfus said.
“You will remain here, till l find her and l want to find her in one piece else your family will come accompany you” l said.
“And about that secret you are hiding, am gonna find out.” I said and held Dreyfus hand and we teleported to the state perspector manor.”
“How do we know where she is?l warned you about the fake necklace you gave her, but you wouldn’t listen, yes she has powers but can she use them?
She doesn’t even know she has those powers, you should have to taught her how to use her powers before you gave her a fake necklace” Dreyfus said.
“Stop scolding me, am really right now” l said and Dreyfus scoffed.”
“You know the invisible spell right?” Dreyfus asked.
“Yes l do” l said.
“Make us invisible” he said.
“Make yourself invisible” l retorted.
“I know l taught you but l can’t use it Lonrenzo”he said.
“Why?”
“You can use it because you are of a royal blood, l only know it but can’t use it.”
“Okay”l said but l eyes caught something.
“Clarissa!”
“Dreyfus come with me” l said.
“We should use the deguise spell l just saw Clarissa.”
“You saw Clarissa?”
“Yes let go” l said and we deguised.
Clarissa hid at a corner she sat on the floor as she gasped for air.
“Please help me Lonrenzo,l can’t hold on anymore am dying” she cried as she talked to my necklace.
She looks so thin and unkempt.
“Guilt was written all over me as we approached her.”
“Lonrenzo! Lonrenzo!You hate now right that’s why you don’t want to help me, l know l cause trouble alot, it will be okay if everyone else hate me but l can’t accept the fact that you hate me too, it’s painful” she cried.
“I can’t die now, uncle Noah is waiting for me to return, l still have to apologize for the many troubles l caused him, please help me just this once” she cried.
I stood and watched her closely.
Dreyfus gave me stern look.
“Clarissa! I called with a hint of guilt in my voice.
“Lonrenzo! You finally came for me, you still like me don’t you?l was so scared that you hate me now” she said and smiled out tears and then she closed her as tears came running down her cheeks.
“Stop standing and help her up quickly Lonrenzo” Dreyfus said and l rushed to meet her.
I stared at her and l can’t help the tears as it dropped from my eyes.
Why do you have to suffer this much Clarissa?
