A very lenghty chapter??
Chidinma didn’t know what to feel or expect,it pained her that she didn’t tell her father about Rema all the while,he always have deep and raw hatred towards royals,he hates them passionately.
“Chidinma” she heard. She doesn’t need to turn,she knew it was Nonso.
“What?”she asked.
“Umm why not explain to dad? He might understand since you both are close. You’re closer to dad than mom”he uttered.
“I want to be alone, Nonso”.
“Ohkay but….
Chidinma arched her brows.
“I can stay with you for the night or you can come to my room if you feel lonely”He said,rubbing the back of his neck.
Chidinma was forced to laugh, did she not just told him she wants to be alone. What a caring sweetheart!
“I’m okay,olive will stay with me” she smiled.
“Are you sure?”
Chidinma shook her head as Nonso kssed her cheeks before walking out.”here he goes again,acting like my boyfriend”.

Mr Uyah glanced at the empty seat beside him before looking at Nonso
“Where’s Chidinma?”
“She has gone to bed,she has no appetite”
Mr Uyah nodded suspiciously “she only ate few spoonful or was it because of what I said about her meeting Philip”.
Nonso stood up next and cleared his plate. A silly idea popped into his head.
What if olive pretends to be Chidinma to meet with Philip,Philip doesn’t recognize Chidinma,it’s a blind date right?
Perfect! He muttered as he did the dishes.
Or what if Chidinma takes rema with her to meet Philip?.
“Oh my god,am too much” he muttered as he picked a bottle water and walked out to chidinma’s room,she had slept,he didn’t want to wake her so he left.
“I will tell her my ideas tomorrow”.

“Honey,I don’t like what happened at the dinning earlier”Mrs Uyah said as she dabbed her face with cotton wool containing cleanser.
*What don’t you like? Am helping our daughter*
“You’re not”
“I am, don’t you understand?”
“I don’t. In what way are you helping her? Are you helping her by setting up a blind date for her? Did she tell us she’s looking for husband?”
Hampson furrowed his eyebrows. “Thompson is a good friend of mine ,he’s a good man and Philip is quiet okay,he will take care of our daughter”.
“There’s no signboard on my daughter’s head that says she needs a man to take care of her,she’s well taken care of and she is doing well in becoming a woman who doesn’t depend on anybody. She just started pursuing her career and you’re pushing her to a man!
Where was this so called Philip when we were nothing? Where was he when our daughter was hawking groundnut? Or did Thompson called when you’re nothing.
(Smiles) now that we are financially bouyant,he comes,asking for your daughter’s hand in marriage..
You’re not helping Chidinma at all”.
Hampson took a deep breath,he knew his wife was right but he won’t still back down.
“I understand you. But you should understand Philip will take care of her”.
“She has been taking care of herself before Philip arrived so let her continue looking out for herself,she looked after Nonso too,she was the one who worked hard to pay his school fee and every other things, are you seriously forgetting things now”.
“I understand. Chidinma is a strong girl but how can she continue living like this without a man”
“She doesn’t need it. She has someone in her heart,stop shipping her,she knows what she wants”
Hampson widened his eyes.”she loves someone already? Who?”.
Mrs Uyah kept quiet.
“Doesn’t he have a name?” He asked again,she kept quiet knowing fully well that it won’t work. Rema is a royal,the royal families killed “Darren”, their first child, chidinma’s supposed elder brother,and it all happened 25years ago.

Her husband,Hampson works in the palace as king Jewel’s personal and most trusted driver. King jewel liked hampson a lot,he allows him drive h him to any function,meeting and all that.
Her home was peaceful and they were very contended with what they had but not until queen ivory came into the picture. King jewel had married her so as to take full control of so many lands, documents and most importantly the rare pearl treasure.
After their marriage,the king was still very close to hampson to the extent that he shares secret with him,he even revealed where the treasures were to her husband.
Queen ivory got jealous, how can the king be so close to hampson,a mere driver! She wants the king’s attention every now and then to the extent that she started poisoning the king’s mind. The king always shun ivory about telling him how to rule his kingdom.
One fateful day,queen ivory called Hampson from duty telling him that the king told him to get the pearl treasure in the place they are being kept.
Hampson innocently obeyed her and went to get the treasure. Meanwhile, Ivory spilled water on the floor, Hampson slipped and the pearl treasure fell and shattered into pieces.
Ivory on the other hand has paid workers to tell the king he tried stealing the treasure but it fell and broke in the process.
The king hurried to the treasure room,the sight in his presence made him pale as a ghost. Hampsons explanation was meaningless. Ivory shed fake tears about the most treasure being broken.
King jewel finally passed his judgement by letting hampson stopped working and leave.
Ivory wasn’t still satisfied,that night she sent people to burn down their house in the middle of the night.
Darren was just a month old then, they couldn’t rescue him. Not even his corpse was found meaning he had burnt in the fire.
Sorrow filled her heart,her innocent baby was gone! Her first son!
That night was the first night Uyah saw Hampson cried.
That same day,they moved out of bian City and stayed in the most extreme and dirty part of the kingdom were no one will recognize them. At least for ivory to believe they all got burnt in the fire.
3years after,they moved back to the city when she got pre.gnant of Chidinma. Her husband then suggest they change surname from Uyah to Hampson. No one hardly knew him as Hampson.

She just doesn’t understand why she doesn’t hate Rema,maybe because she feels he’s different.
“Doesn’t he have a name?” Hampson asked again,jolting her from her trances.
She was still silent.
“You can’t mention his name,that means she doesn’t have any man in her life. She will be meeting Philip and that’s all”.
“Whaaaaatttt!!.

Next day??.
Olive was up,she was prepared already for the days lesson. The talent hunt they registered for.
“good morning Dad” she greeted hampson who was walking down the stairs.
“Olive” he beamed.
“Dad thank you for the gifts” olive winked,the man had been good to her,he’s like a father she never had.
“At least my daughter likes it” he replied and quickly picked a call.
Chidinma walked down in the moment. She locked her bag as she walked down the stairs.
She wore the talent hunt wear. A tight sweat pants and a matching long sleeved top. Everyone in the training wears the same but of different colours.
Her own was black in colour while olive own was pink.
Chidinma had purposely tied a sweater around her waist cos the cloth hung tightly to her body like a second skin..
“good morning Dad” she greeted forcibly without looking at him.
“Sweetheart,here is the address. Philip will be there by 4” he replied.
“Seriously dad?? You didn’t even reply my greetings” Chidinma said, she hesitate before collecting the paper. She walked out with olive.
Well she didn’t bother looking in the address,she threw the paper away.
Olive laughed.
“Is it funny?” She asked.
“You looked like an angry bird just now”
“Whatever”
They got in the car,Olive drove.

Soon they arrived,the place was more than olive described. It was a real commercial complex. More people in the same wear came, the girls were ever increasing.
“Are you sure we stand a chance? I won’t lose if this doesn’t work out” Chidinma spoke.
Olive parked in the lot,they both walked in.
“Miss,you should untie the sweater on your waist. Other clothing are not accepted” a female security crossed Chidinma.
“Okay ma’am” Chidinma replied and loosened it. When she saw that the security was out of sight,she tied it back. Olive chuckled.”another security is at the front”
“Fine” Chidinma removed it and walked back to the car where she kept it.
“The rules are something else already”
They moved in and marked their attendance.
“Olly” two girls called from behind.
Two black girls,they looked elegant.
“Hi Melissa, Dora hi” olive replied.
“Your brother was that boy on national TV waow” Melissa uttered.
Olive nodded.
“And who is this,a newcomer?” Dora asked.
“She’s my sister,I told you about her” olive replied.
“Waooow,she’s beautiful” Melisa praised.
“Are you guys blood like blood sisters?” Dora asked.
“Yes” Chidinma quickly replied.
“Am older than her with a year” Chidinma added.
Dora nodded.”but you guys don’t look alike,that boy on national TV look more like you”
“That’s because olive resembles my dad,the rest of resembles mom and can you stop asking personal questions” Chidinma replied,smartly.
“Am sorry” Dora apologized.
“It’s fine”olive smiled,they walked away and found a sit at the back.
“Thank you for that”olive smiled.
“I didn’t do anything for you,I did it for myself….so what up now,they are many people here already” Chidinma said looking around.
Just then two well known models walked up the stage,all the girls clapped.
The models spoke to them about important tips in acting and all that. The last person to speak to them for the day was Nora.
“Who invited her?” Olive chuckled.
Chidinma joined the others in clapping for Nora.
“She’s your rival and you’re clapping for her” olive scolded.
“Let’s listen to what she will say”
“Am not” Olive stood and excused the hall.
“I wish everyone of you good luck, thank you and my name remains Nora Edwards”
Everyone clapped as she walked out of the stage.
?Have you meet the woman I introduced you to?” Chidinma recieved queen chiamaka’s voice message.
? No mother,am going now” she replied and walked up the stairs, looking for the woman’s office.
“Excuse me,where’s Thelma’s office?” She asked a girl.
“Fifth floor”
“Okay thanks”
Finally,she got there and knocked on the glassy door. The door slide open automatically she moved in. The woman was busy with other ladies,she was surprised to see Nora among the ladies,even Skylar. but Thelma stopped as soon as she saw Chidinma.
“good aft—-
“Have been waiting for you since”
Nora lit her eyeballs,anger burnt in them the moment she saw Chidinma.
“Hi” Skylar smiled.
Chidinma returned the smile,a guy came in from a section of the room.
“Follow him,he will take your measurements”
“Okay ma’am”
“And if you come tomorrow,you don’t need to join the audition hall, just come to me direct”.
“Whaaattt” Nora gasped inwardly.
“I came with my sister”.
“If you’re done with your measurements,you can call her here”
“Okay” Chidinma replied. She could swore she saw a look of hatred in Nora’s eyeballs,it was only for a second.

4 0’clock.
Chidinma went to rema’s penthouse, she had purposely put her phone on airplane mode. She doesn’t seem to care if Philip was waiting for her or not,for all she knows he doesn’t know her and she doesn’t know him.
“Welcome madam” the gateman opened the gate for her.
She replied and walked in. She felt so relaxed,rema wasn’t around…
No maid around,no one is around, perfect.
She dropped her bag and entered his bedroom,she had a quick birth and put on his shirt. Most of her cloths are in his house,she wore a jean short under,it was soo short and too revealing so she wore a longer shirt.
Her favorite show was about to start,she hurried to the kitchen…..
No cooked food,jeeez he won’t stop ordering takeout even when he can cook.
She prepared something fast and took it in a plate to the living room where she sat watching her favorite show. She removed her phone from airplane mode. A message from an unknown number beeped it. From the look of it,it was Philip.
? Hi,I have been waiting since,where are you?”
Chidinma checked time,it was 6pm.
He should keep waiting.
? Am sorry,I will soon be there something came up so…I had to take much time,I will be there soon” Chidinma replied.
Her phone rang hours later,she checked time,it was 8pm.
“You will keep waiting”
? I’m there already,can’t you see me. I’m putting on a black dress” she replied and put her phone on airplane mode when it started raining.
Just then, rema’s car drove in.
“Welcome”she greeted the moment he walked in.
“Babe”his eyes glowed,he pulled her up for a kiss. She responded immediately. Rema lifted her up,she locked her legs around his waist as he took her to the bedroom where he dropped her. Chidinma turned the TV in the bedroom and continue her favorite show while rema used the bathroom.
He came out minutes later in towel, Chidinma looked away immediately. He looked so hot,she was thinking immoral already.
She had better excuse him,she stood up getting ready to leave, rema hugged her from behind and she felt him pressing against her from behind,he locked his hand on her hips,kssing her.

“It’s okay,stop the car here” Chidinma emphasize.
“It’s dark,you can’t walk down by yourself” rema replied,he drove into the estate.
“It’s okay” Chidinma added.
“Fine” Rema said and stopped the car.
“goodnight” she said and wanted to get down.
“Are you hiding something?” He asked when he saw the nervousness in her eyes.
“It’s nothing,goodnight. I love you” Chidinma replied and got down.
Rema nodded,he didn’t drive back until he saw her entered the gate then he drove back.

“It’s late,where were you?” Mr Hampson questioned.
“In the place you asked me to go,I didn’t see Philip,I waited and waited and waited” Chidinma replied.
“You didn’t went there,I saw you come out of a guys car just now,who was he?”
“Hunnn”
