THE LONGEST NIGHT Episodes 1 – 4

I explained my ordeal and everything that had happened. He released my cuffs and asked me to stand up.
I realised he worked with my dad before his police job appointment and my dad was a factor he got the job.
He offered to drop us at the hospital with the police van. The other officers quickly apologised for the ill treatment.

I ran into the hospital, wet from the rain and extremely tired. I looked around and saw a sign leading to the Labour ward. I saw Tunde sitting with his hand over his head.
“Tunde”. I called out.
He lifted his head and walked towards me.
“I have been trying to call you but it rang endlessly with no response. I called your husband and he said you left the house long ago to the hospital”.
“Tunde, that is a story for another time. Where is my sister?”
His countenance changed.
“We welcomed a baby girl, but the Doctors said she is losing blood. They are currently transfusing her but she is bleeding.
. To make matter worse she is too weak and tired”. Tunde answered looking so frustrated.
“I was about going out to get blood, the Blood bank has closed and the Blood we got is almost finished.

I started speaking in tongues. Strength enveloped me from a place I didn’t quite recognise. I called upon God. I screamed my lungs out. I was tired but not so tired to lose my sister.
I opened my eyes and saw some visitors giving me a quizzical look. I didn’t seem to bother .
“Can we go and see her?” I asked.
“I think so” He responded
I walked to the matron and told her I wanted to see my sister.

I got in and my sister in a state that I could barely recognise. There was a vial of blood fixed into her and another one for drip. I lost all sense all hope. I called her name and she didn’t answer. I prayed for a while and walked out to meet Ada and Tunde in the corridor.
“They just signalled me to go and get the Blood “ Tunde said .
“Okay, would go and see your daughter now”.
