Chapter Ten
Erica got to the airport and quickly pulled her bag with her.
Her eyes scanned the whole area, looking for Calvin but she didn’t find him anywhere.
“Ah jeez, where will I find him?” She murmured, placing her hand on he forehead. She was highly frustrated.
Suddenly, her phone rang. She saw the caller ID.
“Hello sir, I can’t…”
“I’ll be there in a sec!” Calvin said and disconnected the call.

She waited with Calvin to come get her wherever she was.
“Let’s go Erica!”
She turned and saw Calvin walking towards her.
She quickly held her box tight amd followed him behind.
“I’m sorry for coming late sir” she said.
“It’s alright. Where’s your passport?” He asked, stretching his hand towards her.
He collected it and checked it.
“Hmm, nice”
Erica secretly rolled her eyes roll they got to the counter.
She saw Kelvin with some other body guard.
She noticed that Calvin didn’t like to be followed around. But Kelvin preferred that.
“Do you really have to bring her?” Kelvin asked.
“She’s my assistant. What do you expect?”
“Thank you very much, this way”
One of the hostess took us to the VIP lounge.
A wow escaped Erica’s lips as she walked into the lounge.
She sat beside Calvin, opposite Kelvin.
There was a beautiful table between them which was decorated.
“Have a safe flight” the hostess said and left.

Erica couldn’t stop staring round the lounge. It was her first time flying but she didn’t want to show it.
She was quite nervous and scared. Everything could be seen in her eyes.
She took her sunglasses and wore it.
Calvin sighted her and smirked.
“I know this is your first time in a plane” he said.
Erica was surprised. She wondered how he knew about it.
“How can you tell sir?” She didn’t know how she asked the question.
“Never mind. If you are scared, you are free to hold on to me”
Erica bit her lower lips and stared out of the window.
The pilot, coupled with some hostess walked towards them and bowed.
“I am pilot James and I’ll be the one flying you to Paris”
Calvin smiled and waved at them.
They left afterwards.
Kelvin didn’t even show any sign of happiness or interest.
He just kept an expressionless face as he read a magazine.
“Please fasten your seat belt, we are ready to take off”
“The seats are empty. Some people are going to miss their flight”
Calvin stared at Erica and shook his head.
“We booked the whole VIP. Kelvin doesn’t like to be with people”
“Oh!” Erica said and adjusted her glasses, trying to mind her business.

Hours later, the plane landed safely in Paris.
Erica was so amazed. She couldn’t believe she was in Paris.
“This is amazing” she murmured and brought out her phone.
She stared at it for some seconds, looking for the camera app.
“Where is it?” She murmured.
Calvin groaned and took the phone from her.
“Why don’t I help you? Make a pose”
“Uh, you don’t have to sir” she said.
“I insist” he said.
Kelvin cleared his throat and walked pass them.
“We’ll go on a short your after the wedding, hmm?”
She nodded and collected her phone back.

“We didn’t buy dad a gift” Calvin said as they drove to the Grey’s mansion. The biggest and most beautiful mansion in Paris.
“Is it necessary?” Kelvin asked. That was the first word he said after landing in Paris.
“Yes it is. He is getting married to another young woman, probably adding to his 19 wife and… Argh, we are too much already” Calvin rolled his eyes.
Erica could imagine how their family was but she didn’t know where she was headed to.
She couldn’t ask. She didn’t want to be a burden on their neck.
The car suddenly came to an abrupt stop as the door flung open.
Kelvin was the first to alight from the car, followed by Calvin.
Erica slowly came down from the car and flung her hair to the back.
“Oh my….” She whispered as she found herself in a very huge building. She couldn’t imagine how many rooms would be in the mansion.
If there was another word greater than mansion, she would use it.
She followed them behind as her eyes strolled round the environment. It was very beautiful with garden and a little playground for the younger ones.
She could tell that there was a lot more at the back.
On the left hand side was a garage that could contain almost five hundred cars.
She kept on gasping as she walked pass every single thing that amazed her.
“Hurry Erica!” Calvin said.
“That’s what you get for bringing her here” Kelvin murmured and increased his pace.
Erica walked beside Calvin, still couldn’t get her eyes off the environment. She was looking at the outside. She wondered how the inside would be.
They got to the door and Calvin brought out a remote from his pocket.
“Door open!” He said and the door flung open by itself.
Her mouth fell open after seeing that.
She quickly shut it and went into the mansion.
There was a very huge chandelier hanging above the building. The curtains were white and designed with gold.
Everything in the house was made with pure gold, even the painting on the walls, the stairs and everything!
“How many room are in this building?” She murmured but way too loud for Calvin to hear.
“There are over two hundred rooms, ten sitting rooms, five gym room, eight swimming pools, six kitchen…”
“Nine..” Kelvin corrected Calvin.
“Oh, nine kitchen” Calvin said.
Erica saw as everyone walked helter skelter.
“It’s really beautiful” she murmured.
“Kelvin. Please help her find a room while I look for mom. Have fun Erica” he said and left.
Kelvin walked away for almost ten seconds whole Erica stood where she was. She stated to wonder if Kelvin will actually do as his brother told him.
Kelvin stopped and turned back.
“Aren’t you coming?” He asked.
Erica held her shoulder bag and followed him.
She didn’t utter a word or say anything.
They entered into a shiny elevator which took them up.
They went from floor to floor, looking for an empty room for her.
Erica was already tired as she was on the fourth floor already. The last floor was the tenth floor.
Finally, they found an empty room.
Kelvin pushed the door open and went into the room.
“Here’s your key” he said and turned to leave.
“Thank you sir” she said, holding the huge key.
Kelvin stared at her from his side view and walked out of her room.
Erica closed the door shut and ran to her bed and started jumping on the bed.
“Woah!!!” She yelled as she hopped on the bed.
Suddenly the door flung open but she didn’t know. She kept on jumping on the bouncy bed till her gaze met with the door.
She saw Kelvin and stopped. She slowly climbed down from the bed and arranged her scattered hair.
Kelvin just gazed at her with his usual face.
“Your box will be brought to you in a few minutes. I hope you know how to use the key”
“Yeah I do…. Wait, key?” She asked and grabbed the key from the table.
She stared at it and saw it was like a remote control.
The same one Calvin used earlier.
She immediately shook her head.
“I don’t know how to use this” she said.
Kelvin rolled his eyes and walked towards her.
“Command the key” he said.
Erica held the key.
“Door closed?” She said with her tiny voice.
Kelvin turned and saw the door was still opened.
“Try again. With a deeper voice” he said with a little bit of annoyance in his voice.
“Door… Closed!” She said again but the door still didn’t close.
“I think my key is broken”she said slowly.
Kelvin grabbed the key from her hand and drew it closer to his lips.
“Door closed!” He said and the door shut hard.
“Door locked!” They both heard the flicking sound.
“Window closed!” The curtains slowly shut closed.
“Light off!” He said and the light went off. The room was now dark.

Kelvin could hear Erica breathing hard. He located her hand in the dark room and gave her back the key.
“Command the key! Again!” He said.
Erica sighed deeply and cleared her throat, secretly mimicking Kelvin. The room was so dark. Even the rays of the sun wasn’t splashing from the curtains that’s so tell you the quality of the curtains.
Erica closed her eyes and shouted.
“Door open! Window open! Lights on!”
She yelled and slowly opened her eyes and saw that it worked.
A smiled crept on her face.
“I did it!”
“You don’t have to shout next time you are doing it” he said and left the room.
“Thank you!” She yelled and held her key.
“Door closed! Kelvin away! Erica free! Erica sleep” she quickly stopped and checked the door if Kelvin wasn’t staring at her again.
She climbed the bed and started jumping again.
