Chapter Eighteen
Calvin and George waited outside the room, waiting for the doctor to come out from Erica’s room.
George wondered why his boss was caring for his sister. Well, she was his assistant.
THE MAN IN MY DREAMS : CHAPTER 11 – 20
After some minutes, the doctor strode out of the room. He wore his stethoscope around his neck.
“It’s nice to meet you again sir!” The doctor said to Calvin.
“Thank you doctor, how’s she?” He asked.
“Your wife will be well soon, you have to call down”
Calvin’s lips curved into a smile.
“She isn’t my wife doctor. She’s my personal assistant and this is her brother. What exactly happened to her?” He asked.
“Well, she’ll be fine. We just need to get her bIood. She really lost a lot of bI.ood and the wound on her palm is really deep. She has to take a lot of rest after everything”
A nurse walked to the doctor and whispered something into his ear.
“What do you mean by that? Have you checked the other blood banks?” He asked, almost yelling at the young nurse.
She nodded and moved back away from the doctor.
“I have sir. I also communicated with other hospitals but they’ve got none” she said.
“Is there any problem?” Calvin asked with a frown on his face.
“I apologise for the delay. They found no blood in the bank. Her bIood group is O and she can only receive from O”
“You can take my bIood doctor, she’s my sister!”
“Quick test him!” The doctor said to the nurse and she led him to the test room.
Calvin sat on the chair, he was really interested in helping Erica finding the real culprit behind her parent de.ath. When the car was closed, he was happy but now that it has been reopened, he’s scared that he might get caught.
“Can I see her now?”
“I’m sorry sir, you can’t. As soon as we’ve given her the bIood, you can see her” he replied calmly.
Calvin nodded. He didn’t want to act aggressive to see a mere assistant, even if his father own the hospital.
George walked in with a cotton wool on his hand. He sat beside Calvin.
“Is there anyone that you suspect that would kll your parents?” He asked.
“I don’t know. I wasn’t really close to my family” he replied.
Calvin sighed.
“It’s going to be a very difficult case”
“I’m sorry, the bIood doesn’t match” the doctor announced.
“What? But I’m her..”
“It’s okay, it’s possible for siblings to have different bIood groups, it’s normal. We will continue looking for a donor for her”
“Please check mine” Calvin said.
“Sir…”
“Boss..”
They chorused together.
“She’s my assistant. I also have to try save her” he said.
“Okay, that’s very good. Come with me sir” he said and led him to the testing room.
Luckily, Calvin bIood matches with Erica’s blood. They started the treatment already.
“Thank you sir!” Calvin said.
“It’s okay. Just part of my job, taking care of my employee” Calvin said and chuckled.
George lowered his gaze and stared at the ground.
“Don’t you worry, I’ll get someone to investigate the matter”
“You don’t need to bother about all this. You’ve done enough, I apologise to drag you into this”
“I haven’t done anything yet. I’ll make sure you and your sister gets justice. The culprit can strike again and maybe harm you next or anyone close to you” he said.
“You can see her now, she’s awake” the doctor said.
George quickly sprung up and walked into the room.
She saw Erica sitting on the bed.
“Aren’t you supposed to be resting?” He asked.
“Why did you bring me here George?” She asked.
“I didn’t. Boss brought you here”
“Why did you let him bring me here?” She asked.
“What do you expect me to do? I couldn’t stop him. Besides, you fainted” he said.
Erica groaned and used her bandaged hand to shove her long hair away from her face.
“If I faint, I would have woken up minutes later”
“And did you wake up minutes later?”
“Yes, yes I…” She paused when she realized that it was Calvin’s voice.
“Sir” she called out.
He walked towards her majestically with his hands in his pocket.
He touched her hair and ruffled it.
“How are you feeling?” He asked.
She lowered her gaze.
“Better” she replied.
“I’m glad you are. You will have to stay off work for a whole week or more…”
“What? That’s way to much” she almost yelled.
“You can’t do anything with that hand of yours” Calvin said and nodded towards the hand.
Erica stared at her hand and carried it up.
“See, I can raise it up” she said.
“Can you feed me with it?” He asked.
George and Erica furrowed their eyebrows.
“Uh, I have to take this call” he said and turned to leave the room. He purposely left to leave the room for the both of them.
Calvin’s phone rang, he picked it and placed it on his ear.
“Hey brother”
“Where are you?” Kelvin asked. His cold and arrogant voice could be heard in the room.
“I’m at the hospital” he replied.
“Why?” He asked.
“Well, Erica got injured so I took her to the hospital”
There was silence from the other end of the phone.
“Okay!”
“Wait! I want you to look into something for me. Someone placed a bag filled with broken glass on Erica’s desk. I need the footage from this last night till this morning”
“Fine” Kelvin said.
Calvin dropped the phone on the table.

“Aish! Your brother is so cold!” Erica said and rolled her eyes.
They heard someone clearing his throat. It was coming from the phone. Calvin didn’t disconnect the call, neither did Kelvin.
Erica closed her mouth in shocked. Calvin quickly disconnected the call and burst into laughter.
“Don’t be scared of Kelvin. He’s nice”
Erica just nodded. She didn’t want to saw any other thing about Kelvin again.
“I want to leave from here” she said.
“You can leave tomorrow” he replied.
Erica looked sad. She really wanted to leave the hospital, she didn’t like it there.
Ava suddenly burst into the room and walked towards her.
“Oh my world, are you okay Erica?” She asked.
Erica nodded.
“I’m fine, how do you know I was here?” She asked.
“I got it from a source. Olivia told me you were taken to the hospital” she said and Erica’s lips curved into a smile.
“I’ll get going now. I’ll find someone to fill in for you for the meantime”
“No, I can still work. Just…”
“If you are concerned about the reduction in your pay for being absent, I won’t do that. I have to compensate you also for the injury” he said.
Erica smiled and fell back on the bed.
“Fine by me. Bye!” She said happily.
Calvin’s smirked and left the office.

“Are you both dating?”
“What makes you think so?”
He walked back into the room and took his phone from the table.
“Bye!”
“Bye sir!” Ava yelled and watched him as he left.
“You both look so cute together” Ava squeaked.
Erica rolled her eyes and bit her lower lips.
“I guess you are right but we aren’t dating”
“Then I’ll say you should try your luck and date him. I mean, he’s so cute, rich and dreamy…oh silly me, he’s the man in your dreams”
“Ava!”
“What? I’m just suggesting” she said and rolled her eyes.
“That’s not what I have in mind. I need to find out who tried to harm me. He left a note telling me game on, because the case was reopened”
“You should report this to the hot cop” she said.
“You are right. I should call him” she said and turned, looking for her bag.
“Argh, I left it in the office”
Ava quickly ran out of the hospital. She looked round, looking for Calvin’s car. She found his car coming from the car park. She stood in the middle of the road.
The driver quickly stepped on the break.
Ava walked towards the car and entered.
“Let’s go!” She said to the driver.
Calvin stared at her, giving her a what the fk look.
“Why are you staring at me sir? I just want to pick up Erica things”
“Let’s go!” Calvin ordered the driver and they drove off.
“So, can I ask you questions?” Ava asked.
“I know very well that you are a talkative. Mind your words when asking me anything”
Ava smiled.
“So, what’s up with you and my friend? Do you like her? Are you planning on dating her? I can tell you everything about her if you want. But she can be boring sometimes but when her hair is wet and she just finish taking her bath, she’s super hot!”

Erica was seen from distance as the car stopped and she was pushed out of the car. The cat drove away, leaving her by the road side.
“That was rude, I wasn’t even done asking my questions!” She frowned.
