Chapter Fifty Four
Kelvin smiled and moved closer to her. He touched her head.
“It’s nothing Erica, just trying to help you” he said.
Erica stared at him like something’s fishy.
“I have to go home, feeling sleepy” she said.
“Sure, let’s go” he said and walked out of the hospital. Ava decided to stay back with George.
THE MAN IN MY DREAMS : CHAPTER 51 – 60
After some minutes, they got to the house.
Erica unfastened her seatbelt and stared at Kelvin.
“I need some painkller” she said.
“I have some in my room. Let’s go” he said and they alighted from the car.

Erica followed him upstairs to his room.
He twisted the handle and stared at Erica.
“Come in” he said.
Erica furrowed her eyebrows.
“That’s your brother’s room” she said.
Kelvin realized he was entering his own room instead of his brother’s room.
“Sht!” He mumbled under his breath.
He smiled and turned to Erica.
“I’m missing my brother that’s why” he said and turned to his brother’s room.
“I understand. He’ll be back” she said and followed him into his brother’s room. Kelvin didn’t know where his brother kept his first aid kit. Now he has to start looking for them.
“Hold on a sec” he said and started checking the whole drawer. He checked everywhere, including his closet.
“I don’t know where he… I mean, I don’t know where I kept it” he said, placing his hand on his lips.
“Have you checked the bathroom?” She asked.
“Oh yeah, It could be there” he said and left to the bathroom.
He pulled out the first drawer and saw the kit there. He brought it out and gave a loud sigh.
“Thank goodness” he murmured and went to the room.
“Here” he said and passed her a glass of water.
“Thanks” she said and stood up.
“See you tomorrow” she said and turned to leave.
Kelvin quickly followed her behind and locked the door behind.
He exhaled deeply and stared round his brother’s room.
As he walked to the bed, he heard a knock on the door.
He quickly opened it and saw Barbie.
“What do you want?” He asked.
“Are you kidding me? You…” She asked. Kelvin quickly pulled her in and closed the door.
“Why are you yelling? What if Erica finds out?” He asked.
“Find what? That you are the cause of Calvin’s death” she asked.
Kelvin diverted his gaze elsewhere and rolled his eyes back to his sister.
“I know okay? Stop making a big fuse out of it. I’m sorry for that” he said.
“Will sorry fix anything? What if Calvin d!es? Will sorry bring him back to life?” She asked. Kelvin could see the anger in her eyes. But there was nothing he could do.
Everyone was mad at him for not listening to Erica. He wished he had listened to her and not run off to make his father happy with him. Everything just became worse. After everything, he finally ended up becoming Erica’s fake fiance.
“Barbie, if you are mad at me, then be mad. There’s really nothing I can do. I’m trying my best to make you all happy. What else do you want me to do, huh?” He asked Barbie. She shook her head and blinked repeatedly, tears rolled down her cheek.
She sat on the bed and stared at her brother.
“The doctor said he suffered a lot of internal injury. If he doesn’t wake up tomorrow, he’s gonna be in a coma” she said.
“He’ll be fine. Trust me” Kelvin tried to calm Barbie down.
She sniffed in and sprung up. She wiped the tears off her eyes.
“Just don’t get bursted, if Erica finds out that you are acting. She would be so mad at everyone of us for hiding the truth from her” she said. Kelvin nodded.
“Sure, I will make sure she doesn’t find out”
Barbie drew closer to him.
“You have to act a lot like Calvin, even if you don’t want to. Especially to Erica, be a good fiance to her” she said.
“I’ve heard you okay! Just leave!” Kelvin said, frustrated.
Barbie smirked and walked out of the room. Kelvin closed the door and settled in. For some seconds, he missed his own room.

Kelvin woke up pretty late the next morning. He had to meet up with his special investigator. He had some news for him.
“Leaving so early?” He stopped when he heard Erica’s voice.
He turned and stared at her.
“Good morning baby” he said and hugged her.
“Good morning” she replied.
“I need to check out on something. I’ll be back later in the day” he said.
“You want me to come with you” she asked.
“No, there’s no need for that baby. I need to hurry, I have a lot of work to do. You know Kelvin isn’t around”
“Sure, you are right” she said. She leaned forward to him.
“Make sure you come early today” she said in a low romantic voice.
“Yes, my love” he said again and left.
He never wanted to call her that but now, he had to call her a lot of sweet names.
He groaned and got into his car. He started the engine and zoomed off.

Erica turned to go back to the kitchen, she saw Barbie standing in front of her.
“Hey Barb” she greeted.
“Hi Rica” she replied.
“I have to go back to the kitchen” she said and left.
“Who was that?” She asked. Erica stopped and faced her.
“That was Calvin. He just left” she said.
“Oh, Kelvin isn’t back yet?” She asked.
“Does he get really upset like this?” Erica asked softly.
Barbie furrowed her eyebrows and folded her arms.
“Why do you ask?” She asked.
“Just wanted to know” she rolled her eyes.
“I see. Well, Kelvin get upset most of the time and zoom off. He would be back whenever he feel like” she said.
“Okay” she simply said because she doesn’t want Barbie thinking otherwise.
She walked to the kitchen and made herself breakfast.

Kelvin pulled over at an undisclosed location. He watched as his special investigator walked into the car with a brown envelope.
“I’ve caught the culprit boss…” He said.
Kelvin’s lips curved into smile. But he was jealous of something. If he tells Erica about the culprit, he would think it was Calvin’s help and not his help. She would be more thankful to Calvin when it’s all his doing.
“Let me have it” he said and check out all the evidence. He smiled.
“I should have known it was him. That’s why I never trust him at first”

Kelvin went to his other mansion to check on Tim.
“Welcome boss” Tim greeted.
Kelvin dropped some meal on the table before him and sank into the chair.
“After eating, you can leave” he said.
Tim stopped and stared at him.
“Why? I don’t want to leave” he said. Kelvin shot him a hard glare.
“I’ve gotten the culprit already. So, you can leave” he said.
Tim shot his eyes wide open and drew himself closer to Kelvin.
“You have? Who is he?” He asked.
“You don’t need to know. Here’s some money to take care of yourself. I should have reported you but no, you have your family to take care of.
Next time you accept jobs like that, I’ll make sure you end up in jail” Kelvin said and left.
Tim stared at the bundles of cash that was on his table. He grabbed them and ran out. He came back later on and took the food also.

Kelvin was in Calvin’s office. He stared at Erica’s seat.
“I should make her resume work” he murmured. He wanted to see her face everyday. He thought about the one trying to wipe out her family again and smiled.
“You are bursted already”
.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
“Come in” he said.
The door flung wide open as George walked in with Ava by his side.
“Careful” she said.
“We are ready to move in” he said.
“You can’t leave the hospital now George”
“No sir, I’m fine. I don’t really like the hospital beside I feeling better” he said.
“Okay, you can move in already. I’ll call Barbie to welcome you two in” he said.
“Thank you sir, you’ve been so nice to us” he said.
“It’s okay. I see Ava took the day off huh” he furrowed his eyebrows.
“My boss isn’t around so…”
“Oh yeah, you are right. Kelvin isn’t around. You can leave already, I have work to do” he said. He started working and also sent some documents to Erica to look into.
She was also checking some contract that was sent online.
He then figure out a way to get the real culprit arrested.
A smile crept on his face. He leaned back on his chair and spinned slowly.
“You’re so d.ead” he murmured.
