“No problem, you’re welcome to our midst” they replied and introduced themselves as well. ‘Danielle take her to Mia’s
room and tell her all she has to do’ john ordered and they all dismissed.
JOHN’S POV
I smiled as I received a text message from the secret agent I hire to help me investigate Matilda’s issue. “bro I just got a text that there’s been progress in the investigation I asked my spy to make, I need to go meet him right away, so please take care of my house and don’t try anything stupid with my workers especially Matilda” I said to Gabriel as we were both in my room and I hurriedly changed my cloth.
I wonder where you’re going to with this Matilda of a girl, just tell me if you have feelings for her already… he said
‘You had better get yourself a girl instead of meddling in my affairs’ I replied before dashing out of the house. “I just pray Ifind something intriguing about the investigation I’m also making soon”. heard him say as I left and I muttered and AMEN to myself.
I walked past Matilda and paused to take a quick glance at her before leaving. “I’ll make you happy soon” I thought as Iwalked away.
MATILDA’S POV
Why did he give me that look of affection, has he started reconsidering me? Is he secretly doing something for me? I asked myself as i turned to watch him exit the house.
Boom! Cassie said as I faced front making me flinch. What the fuck is wrong with you, why would you scare me like that??! I yelled at her. I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you like that, was only trying to play with you.
I’m so sorry please… she apologized. “it’s okay, I just hate it when people scare me, it gives me sad feeling and what if it probably gives me a heartattack? Please don’t do that with me again. I said and she nodded.
Hey angry bird! Come upstairs right now! Gabriel called and I shot him a glare. What! You wanna eat me up? He asking
teasingly, but I ignored his words and went to meet him instead. “here I am” I said standing before him. ‘Go get a bottle ofwine from the bar and bring it with two glass cups and bring them to the balcony’ he said. “who do you wanna drink with?”i asked
“You of course” he replied and I scoffed. Do you expect me to drink alcohol? Would it be nice of me as a lady to drink alcohol and would you allow your little sister to drink alcohol if you had one? I asked and he laughed. “have you ever seen my brother and I take anything alcohol?
That’s what my parents never wanted for us and we can never do it. I guess you’re so dumb to think those wines are alcoholic” he said
Wow! It’s unbelievable, I’m sorry for prejudging you. I said that because it’s a common thing most men do and some irresponsible women too… I replied
‘Go get what I requested for and stop being inquisitive’ he said and I went for it immediately.
How does it taste like? He asked as I finished drinking from the cup he poured for me. “It’s nice and I truly didn’t perceive any alcoholic odour from it” I replied
You really need to level up… he said. “well the word LEVEL UP is meant for rich people and not someone like me” I replied
‘so tell me why you called me here’ I said but he only stared at me without saying a word.
“I’m talking to you Mr, why are you staring at me like that? Oh! You must be looking for something to tease me with again. Answer me, or did you just call me here for a drink?” I asked
Well! I’ve decided to make friends with you since that would please my brother, so I need you to tell me about yourself.
He said after satisfying himself
You see, I just found out you’re the type that switch up on people easily. I have a question for you, is this how you treatevery of your brother’s workers? I mean, you treat them lime trash at first and then decide to make friends with them afterwards or is it just me you’re doing this to?
It’s just you, I guess you have some speciality in you that makes people hate you at first and like you afterwards… he
replied. So tell me about yourself now before my brother returns… he added.
Wait a sec! he said as he stared at something behind me. What’s the matter? I asked as I turned to face the direction he
was looking at. Oh! It’s nothing, I guess I was just hallucinating, let’s continue our conversation… he said.
CASSANDRA’S POV
I felt humiliated at the way she reacted when I tried playing prank on her and that made me wanna get the job done
quickly, I was told to hate her gut but pretend to like her and she just made me did. I watched how the boss’s brother called her and tried to tease her. I smirked and walked away when I saw that they were talking.
Does the boss and his brother treat everyone equally, or they just treat Matilda specially? I asked other workers as I got to
where they were. “How they treat anyone is none of your business, you gotta face what you’re here for and stop trying to know what doesn’t concern you” Gabrielle replied rudely.
How did you even know they treat one in a way different from how they treat others? That means you’ve been observing them ever since you got here… Danielle said too.
Tell us, is that what you’re here for? Gabrielle asked as they both came to my front. “oh! C’mon why would you say that, I only asked out of curiosity, I guess I shouldn’t be doing that… I said excuse me, I’ll be leaving now I said and left their presence.’
It seems there’s love and cooperation among everyone here’ I said to myself and hissed as I walked away.
Isaw Matilda with a bottle of wine and two cups walking toward the direction of the balcony and decided to trail her.
I quickly hide myself as she turned back suddenly. “OMG! That was close” I said as I sighed heavily I continued following her till she opened the door to the balcony.
I opened the door slightly and peeped to see what’s happening and it turned out to be the boss’s brother she was with.
I adjusted myself to listen to their conversation attentively only to make direct eye contact with him and I popped my head
back in and ran off immediately.
And where do you think you’re running to? Someone said from behind making me stop on my track.
