Vera was in the company attending to a few investors when Leo came in
“Vera,” he called and she looked up
“It’s miss Adams,” she corrected
The investors looked at them but didn’t say anything
“Can we talk,” Leo said
“Not now, can’t you see that am people,” she replied
“I just want you to know how much I……..” That was interrupted
“Leo please, not now,” she interrupted and turn to her investigators
“Am sorry for the distraction,” she apologized in her usual calm voice
“No Vera, I mean miss Adams, you have been avoiding me for a very long time so it’s now or never,” he said and put his hand into his suit pocket
It’s as if Vera knows what he was trying to do, she stood up immediately and went over to him, holding his hand she pulled him out of the office
“Leo what’s wrong with you,” she asked
“I just want you to know how I feel about you, just me a chance to prove my love to you please,” he said more like pleading
“Leo what you’re asking for can’t work, we are partners… Business partners, we shouldn’t be seen as couples,” she said
“But, am I not good enough, is It because of that guy?” Leo asked
“It’s not because of anyone,” she replied
“Am way better than him, why can’t you just love me, I have always loved you back in the UK,” he said
She puts her hand on her head as a moment of silence prevails
“Vera just give me a chance please,” he added
“Am sorry Leo but I don’t feel that way towards you,” she replied
She made to walk out but he blocked her way
“Vera c’mon with time you will learn to love me,” he said
“People are waiting for me Leo,” she replied and made to walk out
He gets hold of her and pulled her back swiftly making her back h it the wall near them, he pinned her on the wall he started staring lvstfully at her
“What are you doing? Let go of me,” Vera said as fear grips her
“You’re a very beautiful woman hope you know that,” he replied and started leaning closer to kss her
“Leo stop this, you’re out of your mind,” she said
“Why? I love you Vera and I want you to love me too, why is it so hard for you to do?” He asked
“Leo is this not love, you’re ¢razy,” she said
She’s trying to break free but his way stronger than her, he leaned over and tried to her but she takes her lips into her mouth
He kssed her f©rcefully till she was forced to open her mouth with tears in her eyes, her heart started be..ating fast and the wristwatch she was wearing showed a red light that was more like a dot
All the security alarms started beeping as she continues to cry, Jericho on the other hand also received a call that his signature was needed by her company cos of the projects they were working on
He went into the company to see the securities running around, he went to a guards and ask
“What’s happening?” He asked
“Miss Adams is in trouble,” the guard replied pointing at the alarm that was still ringing
He looked at his phone and track her own, immediately her location was shown to him, he started running towards her
Meanwhile, Leo was still kssing Vera as she continues to cry, the image of years ago started playing in her head as everything starts getting blurry
Jericho Burst into the office immediately and with red eyes, Leo was forced to disengage from the kss and also free his hold on her, she falls losing consciousness
“Son of a bch,” Jericho yelled
