CHAPTER 12

The cloud had cleared, then sun had surfaced out. Enya went to the blacksmith shop. She didn’t inform anyone, she had come surprisingly.

“ Sabastine?” she called the blacksmith.

He dropped what he was doing, he was shocked to see Lady Enya standing by his shop. “ My Lady.” He bowed. “ What brings you here unaware?”

“ Do not worry, Sabastine, I have only come to say hello.”

“ I doubt that must be Her Higness’s reason.”

She smiled. “ Well, I see there is no point lying anymore. And to say the truth, I have come only for a request. I will be pleased if you grant this request.”

“ What is it that you want me to do for you and I will do it as soon as possible.”

“ I want a bow and arrows just like this one.” She showed him that of Lady Lola on the Book. “ Can you do that for me?”

He looked at the picture for a while then nods his head. “ Yes, I can.” He answered. “ When does Her Highness wish for it?”

“ How possible will it be to have it by nightfall?” she asked.

“ Very possible, My Lady.”

She smiled, “ Very well, I will wait until then.” She walks halfway from the shop, then turns back at him. “ Thank you.”

“ Anytime, My lady.”

She left to her.

Later that evening, King Neheb with Lord Rodriguez and lady Moreen sat at the royal hall. They had a lot discussing until the sound of the door interrupted.

Enya walked in, her gaze focused from her mother, then to her father and lastly to the Young Lord.

She bowed. “ Forgive me for interrupting.” She apologise. “ I wish to say something. But I will only speak if father permits me to.”

“ Very well, go ahead.”

“ I hereby renounce my participation to Lord Rodriguez’s test.” She notice the facial change of her parents and the surprise look on the Young Lord’s face.

“ It is too rash, too unadvised and too sudden to quit this test, Enya.” Said her father.

“ I… know, father.”

“ And do you have a reasonable explanation for that?” he questioned.

“ Why, is not this better than groaning in love? In one respect I wish to give the chances to my sisters, this to retain the peace we have once lived with. Maybe I was wrong, I do not deserve the Young Lord.”

“ The test isn’t over yet, you can not…”

“ I’m sorry, father, but I have made my decision. I only have to be patient with fate, but until then, I will remain a spinster.”

King Neheb wanted to advice her not to rush but he knew he can’t do anything further to her decision.

She looks at Lord Rodriguez. “ I am so much delighted to have once found favour in thy sight. And I am greatly sorry to have made this unsudden renouncement. Please, accept my apology.”

“ I bear no anger for your action, you may quit in peace.”

“ Thank you, My Lord.” She bowed.

She left the hall.

Lady Moreen stormed into her room where she laid still on her bed, staring up to the ceiling.

“ Why would you do that?”

“ Do what, mother?” she sounded less concerned.

“ Back at the royal hall, why would you renounce your participation?”

Enya sighed, sitting on her bed. “ Mother, worry not about me.”

“ Of course, I have to. You are my daughter and I do want the best of you. You are old enough to remain a spinster forever. Please, go back and apologize that you mean not what you have said.”

“ I can not, mother, those things I have said are of my heart. I have seen that participating only seem that I have been enrolled into a childish test with my sisters.

Maybe Rosalie is right, I have to be patient with fate. I have to move on, mother. Maybe that Book seeking me is a way to show me that I still have a long road to go. I can only walk through that path now and not tomorrow.

I am so sorry, mother, that I have failed you, but I have to do what is right.”
