Octavia could feel her heart rumbling in her chest as she stared at Mica from the mirror, her eyes were nearly popping out of their sockets.
If she had something in her hand, it’d have dropped immediately on the floor.
She looked at Mica – from the mirror.
“I… I don’t understand” she stuttered.
“Well, all these can’t just be a coincidence, Octavia. The sudden illness, your weight gain, nausea… These are all the signs” Mica replied and sighed.
Octavia’s hands were already shaking.
“But I’ll buy a test strip so we can run a test and confirm”. She added and Octavia quickly turned to look at her.
“B…But, I had taken the pills, right? I had asked you to get me the pills and I had taken them…”
“Yeah. But you were 24 hours late, and you didn’t take the pills all the time he had sx with you”.
Octavia’s head was spinning from all the information and weakly, she turned around to face the mirror again, holding onto the table.
Her hands were tempted to go to her tummy, but she restricted herself.
She was…. pregnant? Carrying a child? Khalid’s… child?
Oh God…!
“Octavia” Mica called sternly. “Who’s responsible for it?”
Octavia lifted her eyes to look at her from the mirror.
“If…If it’s true, then it’s Khalid.. He’s the only guy that’s…”
“What about Michael?” She cut her off and Octavia’s eyes dimmed. “How did she know about Michael?
“No… It can’t be Michael’ she shook her head. “Michael used protection. It can’t be him”
Mica sighed and backed the wall and a long silence stretched out between them.
“This isn’t good” Octavia heard her mumble.
“I’ll get the test strip” she added and turned around to leave.
“Mica” Octavia called fearfully, turning to look at her.
Fear could be heard resounding in her voice, and her eyes.
“What do I do?” She asked with that deeply shaken voice.
Mica looked at her and could divulge the panic.
A few seconds passed.
“Hold on till we run the test ” she replied and finally left.

Octavia was completely restless in the room, she could hardly breathe.
She sat on the bed in a huddled way, her hands holding her knee.
Mica’s words still replayed in her head and somehow, she wished it wouldn’t be true. She couldn’t be pregnant; can’t even fathom it.
How on earth can she be pregnant? Not just for anyone, but for Khalid? How can that even happen?
She’s only been here for a month and yet, she’s pregnant?
Goodness, she couldn’t think of the consequences, despite the fact they kept screaming into her head. No; she didn’t want to give it a thought.
Tears were threatening to spill her eyes, and she couldn’t stop them. So yeah, they dropped.
She heard a knock on the door and it snapped her out of her thoughts as she sniffed and looked towards it.
“Who’s it!” She wanted to ask but noticed her voice was too shaken. So, she just stood up and decided to check it out.
Opening the door, she discovered it was Leo. What?
“Octavia…” He called immediately and she tried shutting the door but was stopped by him.
“Hey, Octavia. Hold up…”
“Get away from me, Leo” her voice still cracked in the end.
She couldn’t help it.
“Please… Just calm down, okay? We need to talk. Please”. He pleaded.
“We have nothing to talk about, and I don’t wanna talk to you ever again. So, just let me be” she tried shutting the door again, but he stopped her still.
“Seriously? I’m still your trainer, you know?” And she paused to look at him.
Then instantly, she gave him a pun¢h on his face.
“Agh!” Leo groaned and held his nose.
Dmmit.
A tear came rolling down her cheek and normally, Leo would think the tears were for him, but Octavia knew what her problem was.
“Octavia, please..” he sighed. “I’m… I’m really sorry for last night. Believe me, I’d never want to hurt you but… I was just obsessed. I’ve… I’ve always admired you, Octavia – always wanted to be with you, but… you just never noticed”.
Octavia looked at him and scoffed, finding it so ridiculous.
“Are you done?” She asked, staring directly into his eyes. “if you’re done, Leo, don’t hesitate to leave” she added and shut the door.
“Octavia!” Leo banged on the door. “Please… let’s talk.
“We…We still need to practice for today. Come on”.
Octavia ignored everything he said and quietly returned to the bed to sit.
She felt dizzy, weak – as usual. But this time around, she couldn’t bring herself to sleep.
Yeah,she lied. Because few minutes later after Leo had given up on his nuisance, Octavia found herself drowsing off.
She didn’t know for how long she slept as she had only gone awake when she heard the door opening.
It was Mica.
“Hey; I’m back. Come on” Mica titled her head and walked towards the bathroom and Octavia nervously stood up and followed.
Her legs were so cold and shaken and for the first time in a long time, she felt so afraid; so dmn scared.
Her hands were wrapped around her shoulders as she followed Mica to the bathroom and getting there, she found the test strip in her hand.
It was looking like… a thin piece of paper.
“Pee in the bowl over there” Mica instructed and Octavia gulped hard and walked to the bowl.
She pulled down her p.anties and peed into the bowl, then stood up afterwards.
“Good” Mica mumbled as she took the bowl and inserted the strip into it.
Octavia clasped her palms together as she watched her, her bIood running faster than they should in her veins.
The memories came flashing into her head – memories of how the Master had had several intercourse with her. And Mica was right; she didn’t take the pills all the time.
Oh God! She really wanted the results to be negative. She just felt so… scared.
How could she be pregnant for Khalid? For someone that’s been avoiding her for the past few weeks? What on earth would she do? The whole thing just sounded so impossible to her.
She couldn’t believe…motherhood was knocking on her door.
Mica took the strip out of the urine and dropped the bowl back on the floor.
Then, she held and watched the strip properly as the first red line popped up. Octavia was watching as well – as a novice.
Few seconds…And the second line popped up as well.
“Oh, dmmit!” Mica sighed and rolled her eyes, taking the strip down.
Octavia had no idea what the two lines meant, but with Mica’s expression, she knew there was a problem.
“It’s positive, Octavia. You’re pregnant” Mica said bitterly, and that was the confirmation that changed everything in Octavia’s life.
Her hands itched to hold her tummy, but she didn’t.
“I’m… I’m pregnant?” She stuttered.” How do you know?”
“The result is positive, Octavia. Didn’t you see the lines?” Mica scoffed and walked towards the bathtub.
Octavia was confused – didn’t know if she was to give in to the tears that blinded her eyes, or try to think.
She was pregnant; she had a child in her.
Oh God!
“Mica…” She broke down in tears. “Wh… What do I do? I shouldn’t be pregnant, right?”
The thought frightened her a lot.
“Of course, Octavia, you shouldn’t. And that’s the reason you need to go for a termination” Mica snapped to look at her and Octavia’s heart split into two.
“You mean a…a termination?” She asked, praying so hard she didn’t hear her correctly.
“Yes, Octavia. That’s what it means. And we need to do it now before anyone finds out”.
Good lord.
“I’ll really need to kill the child?”
“Of course! Hold on… What exactly do you have in mind, Octavia?” Mica scoffed. “Do you actually wanna… walk up to Khalid and tell him ‘hey Master, I’m pregnant for you’. Is that what you have in mind?”
Octavia whimpered pathetically, she couldn’t even imagine it – telling the Master she was pregnant for him. She felt it was more like going to he.ll and telling the devil she wanted to kill him.
“Even if Khalid gets to know about this, he’s still gonna ask you to do the same – go for a termination”. Mica added.
“But Becca…If she hadn’t lost the baby, would he had also asked her for…”
“Becca is different” Mica snapped in. “Becca’s not just some random girl, but his girlfriend. There are different rules in the clan, Octavia. She has no exception”.
“But…Oh my God! How can you be so sure?”
“Because I’ve been there before!” Mica yelled and Octavia’s snapped open to look at her.
What?
A stunned silence stepped in.
Octavia’s eyes were wide open, shining as bright as the electric bulbs, portraying so many questions.
“I’ve been there before, Octavia” Mica continued, her voice clothed with so much bitterness.
“I had gotten pregnant for one of the clan Masters – Master Zack. And without a second thought, I was asked to abort it”.
Despite how strong Mica was, Octavia could dictate the tone of a person who was on the verge of having a breakdown.
“So, I know what I’m saying. That thing inside of you is not possible. So, we need to get rid of it” she added and walked away, going out of the bathroom.

Susan – Mica’s hardly seen roommate – stood outside the door, listening with rapt attention, and a shocked expression.

She had come to get few of her clothes but to her greatest surprise, met the two sisters talking about…a child.
