Khalid walked back to his room, his heart hurting a bit.
Why did she have to peck him and bring back those painful memories, huh?
He just wanted to get to his room, shower and cool his head off with some sleep.
But getting there, he found Becca on his bed.
“Khalid” she called and stood up when he stopped at the door.
“Becca” Khalid scoffed. “How did you get in here?”
She bit her lower lip as she walked in, hoping he doesn’t get mad at her.
“Oh Khalid, i… I just wanted to stay here and await your return” she almost stuttered.
“Thar isn’t the answer to my question, Becca. How did you get in here?” He asked again.
He thought the door was locked.
Becca noticed he was getting really angry and decided to try harder.
“Khalid…” She cooed and held his hand. “What is happening to us? I thought we were cool? We…We use to love each other. But now, you don’t even wanna see my face anymore. You act like…I disgust you, Khalid. .
“You told your guards not to let me into your room, but you let Octavia and her sister in. You ignore me, Khalid, while you take her out to get whatever she wants. Why do you treat me this way? How did everything change so easily?”
For a second, her words had almost gotten to Khalid, made him weak and vulnerable, but he pushed the effects aside.
“You disobeyed me, Becca” he stated bluntly as he walked pass her, going to the wardrobe.
“I told you not to hurt Octavia, but you disobeyed me”.
Becca’s eyes dimmed.
Whaaaat?
“K… Khalid?” She stuttered and turned to look at him. “What’re you talking about? I had nothing to do with what happened to Octavia. I was in the room with you, right? I was in the room when it happened”.
“Exactly” Khalid scoffed. “You were in the room so I wouldn’t suspect you while your little she-d’vils did the work for you”
Her heart skipped again. He…He really knew?
“You know I hate being disobeyed, Becca. I had thought of punishing you for it, but considering the little history we had, I decided to let it go. But there won’t be a next time, Becca. If you disobey me one more time, I’ll definitely have you punished” he stated and turned towards the bathroom.
“She killed my child” Becca suddenly said, her voice so pained and cold.
“She killed my child and now she wants to have one for you? How do you expect me to feel, Khalid?”
“If you had listened to me Becca, and stayed away from her, none of these would be happening! If you hadn’t gone ahead to upset her even when she did nothing, she wouldn’t have to use her powers on you, not knowing you were pregnant! So, stop passing the frustration on her” Becca was stunned at how Khalid yelled at her
He looked so angry, so bea$tly. And it occurred to her that was actually the first time Khalid was ever raising his voice. Not just on her, but on anyone else. He’s always prefered being that calm type, even when he was angry.
She saw the bIood running down his nostrils and immediately, he turned around and walked into the bathroom.
“Khalid…” She called, but there was no response.
Khalid held his head as soon as he got into the bathroom.
The sharp pains were there – the unbearable headache.
He gritted his teeth and forced himself not to grunt as he slided to the floor, his back hitting the wall.
“No” he mumbled, his head in his hands.
The bIood dripped from his nose to his legs and instantly, he knew what was wrong. He’d always suspected it from the first day it all started, but he just couldn’t believe it as he never thought she’d ever come for him after so many years.
She was the only weakenss he had – the only one capable of hurting him that much.
His mother.

Next day
Octavia stood nervously in front of the mirror, the folded piece of paper in her hands – the one she had drawn Khalid on.
It’s been hours now yet there’s been no word from him, no word from Khalid. According to Mica, Draco said he hadn’t left his room since the previous night and it was getting Octavia really worried. Could it be a result of the kss? But why did it hurt him that much? What has she done?
It was evening and everyone was making preparations for the camp the following day. But Octavia couldn’t concentrate as she felt so worried about Khalid. She felt the kiss had brought back painful memories and felt she needed to fix it.
So, after thinking for a while, she decided to go to his room and see him, then maybe offer him the drawing if it’d please him.
Taking a deep breath, she left.
She felt so nervous as she walked towards his room, her heart beating rapidly. What if he rejects her? Or yells at her? Would she be ableto take it?
After a long walk, she got to his room and of course, his guards were there.
“You can’t go in. He doesn’t want to be disturbed” one of the boys said.
It was Santa.
“Please, its urgent. Just… just tell him I’m here and if he still insists, then I’ll leave” she said with pleading eyes and Santa had to fall for it.
He opened the door and went in and after sometime, returned with what seemed like goodnews to Octavia
“You can go in” he said and Octavia happily walked in.
He accepted her!
The lights in the room were dim, giving it an extremely cool feel.
She found Khalid sitting on the bed, his head bent towards the floor as he smoked.
Octavia was almost choking due to the acrid smoky smell that polluted the air, but she had to endure it. .
“Master…Good evening, Master” she bowed, holding the drawing tight beside her
For a long time, Khalid didn’t say a word as he continued smoking. Then he stood up and walked towards the table.
“What is it, Octavia?” His voice was damn cold.
Octavia watched him as he got to the table and hit the other end of the cigarette so the ashes fall out. She noticed he… looked kinda ruined.
She swallowed hard and looked at the floor.
“I… I just wanted to give this gift to you, Master” she stretched out the drawing to him.
“Actually, I made it about a month ago but didn’t have the opportunity to give to you. So…I decided to do it now”.
Khalid turned from the table to lookat her. He gave her a long stare, then dropped his burning cigarette and walked towards her.
Somehow, Octavia felt so scared as he walked towards her. Her legs were almost unstable on the floor.
Khalid stopped walking when he got very close to her, then he took the piece of paper from her and crushed it slowly in his hand.
Octavia gasped in shock as she watched him ruin the paper. What? What’s he doing?
“I don’t want this, Octavia” Khalid said, his dark gaze on her.
“All I want…is to be inside of you”.
Octavia felt her throat become dry.
Indeed, there was something strange about him; something stranger than she had seen the previous night.
She wasn’t thinking as she turned around and tried walking away, but Khalid gripped her back by the arm.
Oh God!
“I…” She sought for words. “I’m sorry, but I can’t give you what you want at the moment. I’m not too strong”
But the expression in Khalid’s eyes didn’t change and they frightened her.
He pulled her close and stroke her hair
“I don’t care, Octavia. I just want you; not someone else, but you” he spoke hoarsely.

Octavia could feel her heart running down her tummy. She couldn’t have sx; she wasn’t strong enough for it yet. What’s happening to Khalid?
“Please Master…” Her voice shook. “I can’t; not now”.
She tried moving away, but his hold on her was firm.
Then, he pushed her to the be.d.
