“Your father?” Khalid repeated.
Octavia could feel her breathe wavering already as she stared at him, her hands had suddenly grown cold.
His back had already touched the floor as the crowd continued beating him mercilessly.
“Please! Please!” He cried out and coughed out bIood and suddenly, his eyes found her.
Right there, as he laid on the floor, inbetween the legs of the angry people, he spotted his daughter staring at him.
Octavia watched him as his brows furrowed in surprise. He muttered her name and at that instance, the only words she could hear were:
“You’re only gonna be useless, Octavia” the memories burnt her at the back of her mind.
Thar same man in front of her, was the same man that made her pass through he.ll. The same man that’s put her in so much mess, someone else’s about to die for it.
“Octavia!” He called more audibly,
The p.ains were obviously too much for him already and he was calling out to her for help, calling her to save him.
“Octavia” Khalid called behind her.
“What do you have in mind?”
A tear came dropping from her left eye as she watched him.
He was grunting pa.infully and looked like he wouldn’t make it if something wasn’t done to save him in time.
“The only thing on my mind right now”, she said to Khalid. “is getting those strawberries”.
And with that, she turned around and left.
Khalid lifted his thumb to his lower lip and smirked. Hmph. Just what he expected.
And giving a final stare at the man in front of him who was clouded with dissapointment, he also turned around and left.

He followed Octavia but noticed she was headed for the car.
“Hey! Thought you wanted some strawberries?” He asked as he caught up with her pace.
“N…Not anymore. I just want to go home”she stuttered and sniffed.
“You sure?” Khalid asked and she simply replied with a nod.
They got to the car and both took their seperate seats at the front sect.
Khalid could tell Octavia was trying so hard to fight the tears. Else, it was so obvious she wanted to spill it all out.
He held onto the car keys, but suddenly restrictedly himself from turning it on.
“Wanna talk about it?” He looked at her and asked and she finally let down a tear.
“He blamed me for my mother’s de.ath” her voice quivered a little as she stared down at her laps.
The car was so dark, they could hardly see each other’s faces. And that was exactly what she wanted.
“When my mother fell ill and wouldn’t get better even after so many treatments, Mica and I decided to go for the red antiode”
Khalid’s brain ticked in remembrance. That day…
“We…We knew it was risky, but losing our mother at that moment was more dangerous. So, we took the only shot we had, but…she didn’t make it”.
She paused and whimpered.
“We watched her die in front of our very eyes. And…when father had gotten to know about it, he was so mad at us and…and beat us up – terribly.
“Things got really complicated; he doesn’t fend for us anymore, he treats us like we some sort of strangers. And within the twinkle of an eye, he got married to someone else – a nightmare.
He saw Mica and I as pure evils due to the powers we possessed. Everything got so terrible and at a point, Mica had to leave. Thar was the reason she left and joined the X-family”,
She paused and sniffed again.
“I… I didn’t like the X-family back then and couldn’t go along with her. So, I stayed with my father and endured for as much as I could. But two years later, he sold me out…”
Khalid’s eyes dimmed as he stared away. Guess he knew the rest of the story from there.
“You’ll be fine, Octavia” he mumbled. “you’ll be fine”
And with that, he took off

“Mica! Mica!” Mica heard her name from behind as she headed back to her block.
It was Draco.
She didn’t want to see him, but since he was running after her, she had to stop.
“Hey! I’ve been looking for you. Where the he.ll have you been?” He asked as he caught up and stood in front of her.
“I’m… I’m fine. Just need some rest” she mumbled with her eyes on the floor.
“Really? Why don’t you come over to my room then…”
“I can’t” her voice was almost hoarse. “Please Draco, I just need some privacy for now”
Her eyes were looking teary already and she blinked them rapidly to prevent them from weakening her.
Draco was perplexed and without saying another word, Mica turned around and left.

Octavia thought about Mica on their way home. She hadn’t seen her since the previous day and hoped she was fine. Well, she should be.
She arrived at the camp with Khalid and together, they left the car and headed to his room.
“Do you need a shower?” Khalid asked as he unbottened his shirt.
“Um…I think so” Octavia replied with a sniff.
Khalid gave her the go-ahead and she walked into the bathroom, took of.f her cIothes and stood under the shower.
Oh! She really needed this.
She closed her eyes and enjoyed the cold water as it rained down on her, soaking every inch of her body. Exactly what she needed
After a while, she was done and covering herself up with a towel, she returned to the room and met Khalid sitting on the edge of the bed, smoking.
Urgh! No wonder she’d been perceiving that ugly smell in the bathroom
He was shirtless and his tattooed chest drew her attention as usual. She quietly walked pass him to the wardrobe so she could get some clothes. But he stopped her.
“Octavia” he called and she turned to look at him.
He took a drag from his pipe before speaking up.
“Come on. Come over here”.
Oh, goodness! Really??
Octavia felt her tummy become so hot as he said those words to her. The thoughts niggled at her. Was he going to have sx again?
Laggardly, she dragged her legs towards him on the bed and standing in front of him, he held her hand.
“Thank you…for making my evening” he stated calmly, his eyes on her laps which were covered by the to.wel though
“Um…You welcome, Master. I also enjoyed it” she answered timidly.
Khalid made the pipe go off. Then, he threw it to the floor and still holding Octavia’s hand, he made her go into the be.d with him.
Her heart suddenly became heavy and in the process, the to.wel got loosed from her.
“Don’t worry” Khalid said when they laid next to each other.
“I’m not fking you. Just wanna hold you tight”.
Octavia cringed at how raw the words sounded on his lips.
He pulled her close.
“You comfortable, right?” He asked.
“Y…Yes” she answered quickly.
Of course, being held in that manner by Master Khalid, who wouldn’t be comfortable?
“But do you want me inside of you?” Khalid asked with a cranky smile and when her eyes popped up in shock, he couldn’t help but laugh.
God! The way he uses his words…
“You’re one funny lady, Octavia” he tweaked her nose and she blushed helplessly, lowering her gaze to his chest.
“I love it when you’re shy, you know?”
“Oh…” She covered her face on his chest. “Please… just stop it already…”
“The fk..?” Khalid exclaimed and bursted into another round of laughter.
Why the he.ll was she acting like a kitten?
He got hold of her hair and gently, pulled her away from his chest. Then, he took his face closer and reached for her lips.
But it was only for a little while as he broke the kss almost immediately.
Oh! Why did he stop?
“Octavia…” He called calmly, staring into her face.
“Can I tell you a story? A story about me and my mother…”

“What?” Master Zack growled angrily. “Are you sure about this?”
“Yes, Master. I’m very sure” the boy in front of him replied.. “I have a lot of insiders and two of them confirmed Khalid had the highest votes. He’s the winner of the elections”.
Zack’s face grew red with fury.
“But how the fk is that possible? Dmn it!” He kicked the wall angrily.
That son of a bch!! He was the winner and was going to be crowned the following day? Never!
“You can leave” he said gruffly and the boy bowed and left.
Then, he took out his phone and dialed the line.
“Come on, come on” he mumbled angrily and thankfully,she picked up at the last beep.

“Sapphire” he called impatiently.
