“Khalid?” One of the men called as they moved closer to him.
They looked so surprised. It wasn’t a dream, was it?
“You’re awake?”
Khalid closed his eye lids shut, then opened them again. Where the he.ll was he?
He looked around, the soft feel of the bed feeling familiar. And tbe voice he’d heard….
The only thing he could feel at that moment was weakness and emptiness.
“Can he hear us?” One of the men asked and slowly, he turned his head to look at them.
Some boys were in the room as well, holding a white sheet. Despite the fact he couldn’t remember, he had this strong feeling that soemthing big had happened.
How come he’s alive? Because he’s pretty sure he was so close to dead, if he wasn’t already.
He fisted his hands and forced himself to sit up, his entire body aching a lot as he did. Dmn it! He’s never felt so weak in his entire life.
“Master Khalid” one of the boys called and moved closer to him.
“How do you feel?”
Khalid’s eyes were glued to the floor for some minutes before looking up at him..
“What happened here?” He asked, his voice sounding so faint.
“You were dead, or so you seemed”. The huge boy replied, making Khalid think cogitatively.
Of course, he was dead. He’d felt it.
“So… what happened?” He arched a brow and asked. “How am I still alive?”
“We actually don’t know, Khalid” one of the men replied.
“Honestly, we were about covering you up and moving your body to the morgue when you came awake” .
Really? Khalid thought. Then, what happened?
He paused and looked around. Hold on… Where’s Octavia?
He took his eyes back to the boys.
“Where’s Octavia? Have you seen her around?” He asked and the men exchanged a quick glance at each other.
“You don’t need to worry about her for now, Khalid. I’ll get one of the best gifted healers to attend to you”. One replied, making Khalid so suspicious.
Why was it feeling like there was something wrong?
“The coronation party has been postponed to evening. Hopefully, you should be strong enough to attend because it’s important. Welcome back, Khalid” another said and began walking away.
“I’m glad you’re back, boy” the other also said and left.

“Seriously Becca? Are you kidding me right now?” Pamela asked with a scoff as she watched Becca hurriedly pack up her bags.
“At least, talk to me”.
“There is nothing else to talk about, Pamela” Becca almost yelled at her.
“I just told you I’m leaving the camp, leaving the clan. What’s so difficult for you to understand?”
“But why?” Pamela inquired. “why would you want to leave all of a sudden? And where are you headed?”
Becca didn’t look at her untill she zipped up her bag.
“The X-family isn’t for me anymore, Pamela” she spoke hoarsely. “And I need to go far away. Just far away”‘.
And with that, she picked up her bag and hurried out of the room.

Khalid stood, facing the window, the cup of black tea in his hand as he stared outside.
“Tell me all about it, Draco” he stated calmly, without turning around.
And Draco who was standing behind him,took in a deep breath and began.
“She acted really crazy, Master.
“She showed up at Master Zack’s lounge and almost burnt the guards alive when they tried to stop her. She fought Zack, dragged him into a locked room and t®rtured him. In the process, she um…. pIu¢ked out his left eye”.
Khalid’s shoulders stiffened.
What?
“According to what I heard”, Draco continued.
“She’d almost gotten rid of the right eye as well. But I don’t know what happened, she jumped off the window and ran away – out of camp”
Jumped off the window? Khalid thought. Wasn’t that extremely risky? What about the baby?
“We still don’t know what her aim was, Master. But she really acted crazy this morning” he concluded and Khalid scoffed.
Seriously? Octavia did all that? He could hardly believe it.
He smiled and stared down at the floor. The little quiet d’vil. He didn’t need a soothsayer to tell him she’d t®rtured Zack to give her his mother’s location. He did and she must’ve gone to her. That’s obviously the reason he’s alive.
Oh, Octavia…
He took in a deep breath and turned away from the window, dropping the cup he held on the table closeby.
“Master…Are you going out?” Draco asked when Khalid started towards the door.
“I need to get her, Draco. I’ll be back” he answered plainly, making Draco flinch.
“B…. But, the coronation…”
“If I’m getting crowned Draco, I’m definitely doing it with her by my side”. Khalid cut in.
“They’ll kill her as soon as she steps foot into this camp! She’s a highly wanted offender, Master”
Khalid stopped by the door, his hand wrapped around the hinges.

Then, with a side glance at Draco and without saying another word to him, he opened the door and left.
