THIS STIGMA: CHAPTER 1 – THE END

WRITTEN BY MOMOH GIFT

CHAPTER FOUR

I was shocked to see that same face I saw weeping in the classroom the other day but this time around with a beautiful smile.

For some minutes, I couldn’t think straight. A lot of thoughts were running through my mind.

The fact that she wasn’t here alone but with a man and a woman who were also smiling at me with so much love and affection all over their faces made me feel so special for the first time in my entire life.

THIS STIGMA: CHAPTER 1 – THE END

All my life, I never believed someone can smile at me with so much affection apart from my mummy but here I am with three people giving me so much smiles.

Oh! Indeed today is a blessed day for me and I won’t forget today.

It was her lovely voice that brought me back to reality.

Hello Rita, am so glad to see you again after what looked like an eternity.

I have been waiting to see you come back to school but you never did.

Am so glad I finally found you. Please meet my lovely parents Dr. and Mrs Tobi.

Daddy and mummy meet Rita the beautiful girl I have been telling you about.

What! Did she just call me a beautiful girl? Oh please if am dreaming I really don’t want to wake up from this dream anymore.

Let me just remain like this forever.

Rita are you okay? I jerked back to reality. Oh! Am fine.

I am just very surprised to see people visiting for the first time and not just that but with a lovely smile as well.

Indeed today is blessed for me.

Good day sir and ma.

You are welcome to my home. Please come inside. My mummy has gone to the farm so all alone at home.

As they were about coming into the house, each of them bent down and hugged me passionately. Oh! My joy knew no bounds.

I just allowed the tears to flow freely, this time around not for sorrow but for the excess joy in my heart.

Wow! It’s so good to be loved.

I really can’t express my feelings right now.

Indeed love is a great thing.

Oh! How I wish people will understand how much some persons are desiring to be loved and cared for in life.

How I wish they know that their love can actually go a long way in giving hope to others.

I wish they knew that this love, to some persons can not be compared with billions of naira.

Oh! I wish they understand why they really need to show love to others.

Rita! My name is Favour and am the only child of my parents.

As I have earlier introduced to you, my daddy is a doctor and my mum a lecturer.

Seriously since the day you left the class weeping, I haven’t stopped thinking about you both during the day and night.

I have been disturbing my parents to locate you for me but due to their busy schedule, they couldn’t make it all these while.

They had to see the headmistress yesterday in order to get your address and am so happy we are here today.

THIS STIGMA: CHAPTER 1 – THE END

Honestly, the first day I saw you, I knew immediately that I have found a friend and a sister.

I really do not see your physical disabilities but I see you as someone that was specially created by God and indeed you are very special.

Oh! I couldn’t believe my ears as this Angel called Favour was saying those words to me.

Did she just say that I am specially created by God and am indeed special?

How can I be special without arms and with this kind of height?

Is she just saying all these words to make me look happy?

But with the love in her eyes, I don’t think she is just saying it to deceive me.

Oh! Which of this questions am I going to answer now?

“My dear daughter, I know a lot of thoughts are running through your mind right now” said the mother.

All what Favour is saying is true. You are indeed a special being.

God has made you in His own perfect way and for a better purpose.

I see a great person in you.

Never you allow your physical disabilities and the bad words of people to limit you in life.

There is nothing in this entire world that can stop you.

Only if you chose to limit yourself.

The fact that you are still alive today shows that God is still interested in you.

Yes I know so many people have said one word or the other to make you hate yourself and believe you are cursed, but I tell you today, that you can still rule your world even without arms and height.

All you need is to reset your mindset and also ask your creator to help you fulfill His original plan for your life.

Immediately she finished speaking, Dr Tobi rose up from his seat and said the greatest shock of my life.

He said…
