She looked so surprised and i controlled the urge not to laugh.
“So you are saying she’s your cousin?”She asked still in shock.
“Yeah,what do you think she was? My girlfriend?” I asked and chuckled.
She used her hand to cover her face shyly.
“Ohh,am so sorry,Mabel,am really sorry”
“It’s okay, Adrian put me up to this, he said he enjoyed the way you acted jealous”
Claribel glared at me then she swatted my hand.
“Seriously? Adrian”
“Am sorry,i just found it funny how jealous you were”
“I wasn’t jealous”
“Clary,i noticed it when i took food from Mabel instead of you,your face was priceless”
“That wasn’t nice, Adrian”My mom said and i rolled my eyes.
“Mom,it was a simple prank, nothing else”
“Whatever, let’s go”
We all entered the car,all through the ride i enjoyed teasing Claribel about the whole thing.

FEW HOURS LATER.
? Claribel’s P.O.V?
I spent all day with Adrian and his family,it was so fun,we watched a r0mantic movie which Adrian found stupid and cliche.
I was at the balcony looking at the sky when Mabel joined me.
“The sky is beautiful today” She said and i smiled.
“Yeah”
“Mabel,am really sorry that i was so rude to you” i added and she giggled.
“It’s okay,Claribel”
She remembered my name.
“I have always known your name,it was Adrian’s idea of annoying you”
“He’s so childish” i said and we both giggled.
“He has really changed from the last time i saw him”
“Changed how?”
“Well,ever since his dad died,he was hardly ever happy,coupled with his heart condition,he hated himself and life.
He would scream at anyone who tried to talk to him,he was bullied and insulted by his peers because of his condition.
He vented his anger on everyone,he once punched his teacher just because the teacher scolded him for being late to class.
We all thought there was nothing to be done about him,he was taken for therapy but he hardly talks,he would only stare at the floor.
But now, Adrian is a whole different person, he’s extremely happy and so cheerful.
He would always talk about you to me,his eyes sparkle so bright when he mentions your name”
I was utterly speechless, the fact that Adrian has gone through so much and that now he’s happy makes me happy.
“You bring out the best version of Adrian, honestly,i have never seen him so happy about life,Thanks for everything,Claribel”
“You don’t have to thank me, Adrian is very special to him and am never leaving him”
“You love him, don’t you?”
“Huh?”
“You are in love with Adrian, it’s so obvious, you were practically dying of jealousy when you thought i was his girlfriend” She said and i chuckled slightly.
“I know he loves you too, he’s just too c0cky and conceited to admit it”
“Oh, Adrian can be conceited, especially when it comes to his looks, he literally thinks he is the most handsome guy on the planet” I said and we both laughed.
We talked about many other things,Mabel was really fun to talk to.

A month later.
“Ohhh, Claribel, your birthday is next week, aren’t you excited?” Shannon squealed.
“No,not really”
“C’mon, it’s your 19th birthday, you should be happy”
“My birthday is nothing to me, it’s just like everyday maybe even worse”
“But we celebrated your 18th birthday”
“You and i just bought a small cake and candle light, then my dad came in and threw everything out because he was drunk”
“I know,Clary but..
“But nothing, Shannon, let’s just forget it, let’s pretend that next week isn’t my birthday”
“Okay..i have a class, see you later”
She kssed my cheek and walked away.
“I heard something about birthday” Adrian said as he approached us.
“It’s nothing,just forget it”
“Wait.. it’s your birthday next week..Are we going out?”
“No,we are not,am just going to stay in my pajamas all day”
“Well, that’s boring..i think we should go out and have fun”
“Am not going anywhere, Adrian..You don’t understand what’s going on.
I have never celebrated my birthday since i was little,my last birthday was ruined because of my drunk dad.
He even used a wh!p on me on my 18th birthday”
“Am ..am sorry”
“It’s okay, It’s not your fault..am going to class” I said and walked away.

? Adrian’s P.o.v?
It’s Claribel’s birthday and i plan on taking her out even if she disagrees.
I hate to see her unhappy and I just want to make her happy all the time.
I got to her front door and knocked,she opened the door.
“Hey” i said and smiled at her.
“Hey,you wanna come in?”
“Nope because we are going out now”
“No way,i already said am not going out”
“It’s your birthday and i intend to make you happy,so let’s go”
I tried to grab her wrist but she resisted.
“Adrian,no”
“Am not letting you stay here all by yourself, let’s go,Claribel,try to be happy”
“But am only wearing a hoodie and sweatpants and my hair is not in place and my face is..
“Looks perfect,you look absolutely gorgeous” I said and she sighed.
“You always get want you want, don’t you?”
“Yes so let’s go”
I grab her hand and we walked outside,she gasps in shock as she saw my car.
“What the..is this your sport car?”
“No, It’s for Mabel’s brother,i asked bim for it”
“Oh, it’s beautiful”
“Hop in”
We entered the car and wore seatbelt.
“So where are we going?”
“Seattle”
“Seattle? That’s so far from here,we will never make it back in time”
“Yes,we will, that’s why i brought the sports car,so you ready?”
She smiled at me, she removed the hair from my forehead.
“Let’s go have the time of our life”
