Episode 25
Mico’s Pov continues:
“But why am I even here in the first place? Why am I concerned about Alyssa being with Jeremy? It shouldn’t be any of my business, right?
But surprisingly, I still can’t let go of it. I really want to know what’s going on between both of them.
Not long after, she came scuttling in with a tray of food. She dropped it on the floor and sat in front of it – on the floor.
“Come on Nigel. Let’s eat” she told me as she opened the food and oh; it was soup.
It kind of looked appetising but…I don’t eat outside.
“Uhm…sorry. I can’t” I replied and she looked at me.
“Seriously? BFF?” She asked and immediately, she stood up and dragged me to sit on the floor in front of the food.
Holy Christ!
Then she returned to her position where she sat facing me.
This lady is really crazy.
She washed her hands and passed the bowl of water to me and I hesitated in washing my hands because I was confused
Does she expect me to eat with my hands?
“What’s wrong?” She asked, reading the confused look on my face.
“Oh! If you want, I can get you spoon. It’s just that, I prefer eating my soup with the hands” she said and tried standing up, but I held her back.
“Don’t worry about it” I said. “I’ll…I’ll make use of the hands”.
She smiled and nodded and I washed my hands.
Oh, Mico! How re you going to do it?
I watched her as she fetched a little quantity on her hand and ate it. Will I be able to do it?
She looked at me; probably wandering why I wasn’t eating.
I coughed and also fetched a little quantity on my hand and tired putting it into my mouth but oops! It poured on my lips.
Gross!
Alyssa laughed and used her hands to clean off the stain. But why does she have to do it?
Her hands were cold and it’s touch on my lips made me feel like she shouldn’t stop.
“You’re so funny, Nigel. Haven’t you eaten with your hands before?” She asked as she brought out her hand and I just smiled.
Then I watched her as she took in another quantity so perfectly. she’s really an expert, isn’t she?
But she’s really beautiful if I’m to chose, I’d say she was more beautiful than Alexa.
Mico!!!
What the hell are you doing?
I really need to stop this crazy thoughts.
I need to hurry up and prepare for my date with Alexa .
“Uh…how was school today, Alexa?” I asked, finally deciding to bring up the big question. .
“Oh! School was fine. Just a little boring without Sandy.” She replied.
I took in a little quantity of the soup and this time around, it didn’t stain on my lips.
Congratulations, Mico; I think you’re on your way to becoming a tout.
I thought of a way to bring up the Jeremy question.
I really wanted to find out.
“Mmm Alyssa, did you see Jeremy today?” I asked and noticed her hands shook a little.
“Uh…Je…Jeremy?” She asked.
No, my head.
Please don’t make this any difficult than it already is for me.
“No. Why asking?” She replied and I arched my brows.
Why’s she denying it? What’s she hiding?
Something’s definitely wrong
“Is there a problem?” She asked, and I lowered my gaze to the food.
“No” I replied her.
Just then, a dowdy looking boy walked in from one of the rooms in the house.
“Alyssa, why can’t I find any more food in the flask?” He asked immediately and Alyssa rolled her eyes before looking at him.
“And did you keep any in it?” She asked.
“Don’t joke around with me, Alyssa. I’m damn serious. Did you really empty the flask so you could eat it up with your hungry boyfriend?”
Whaaaat!
“Well at least, I have an hungry boyfriend who’s better than hundred ladies chewing gum who’s looking for a jerk called Jake” she replied and my eyes beamed.
Did she just act along that I was her boyfriend?
“You know what, Jake?” She continued. “I think mum must have made a mistake in naming you. I think she must’ve wanted to name you jerk. But you can still change it, you know?
I chuckled and the boy grinned his teeth.
This Alyssa is too bad mouthed
“I think I’ve been too careless in disciplining you” he said “don’t worry, I’ll teach you a lesson.”
“Hm. Empty vessels always make the loudest sound” Alyssa said to him as he flounced out of the room.
I laughed and looked at her.
‘He’s your brother?” I asked.
“Yes -unfortunately” she replied and I chuckled.
“Well, why didn’t you tell me I was eating his meal?”
“Did you seriously believe what that jerk said? Please, I have other important things to talk about
“By the way, Nigel, the young miss beauty contest will he starting tomorrow. Yesterday was the orientation and you won’t believe how crazy all those ladies had been acting. They almost created a scene, dragging who the winner was going to be.
“I’m so nervous Nigel. I don’t think I stand a chance in the contest.
“And guess what? I saw Mico in school today. But he was with Alexa and he had escorted her to class.
“That Alexa is lucky to be his friend. I wonder how she feels whenever she’s with him”
I looked at her and laughed softly. .If only she knows that’s same Mico that’s eating with his hands.
After eating, I decided to go home and prepare for my date.
But am I really ready for this?
Of course, I am.
“Where do you live, Nigel?” Alyssa asked as we walked our of gate together.
“Uh…I live around” I replied and later realised I shouldn’t have said that.
“Really? You live around? Well come on:take me there” she said and I heard a loud bang in my head.
She stopped and looked into my face.
“Whyre you keeping quiet?” She asked. “Let’s go”
“Uh…Alyssa, I can’t” .
‘And what do you mean you can’t?”
