Chapter 25.
Amy fiddled on her cloth as she watched her mom’s dumbstruck expression.
She was looking for the right word to make her understand but those though glares from her mother had left her blinking at everything.
Mrs qin mouth parted in disbelief. She had never been this shocked.
She completely lost her tongue and all she could do was to look at her daughter like she was some gold.
” So…He is the..xan?” Her mom scoffed, almost bursting into a sarcastic laugh.
Amy gulped down after finally hearing her mother’s voice. She sat upright and stared at her guiltily.
” Mom. Y..you see, i..i… never knew he was xan until i was able to revive my memory. But even after i did, i still fell deeply in love with him the more.” She said, pouting her lips.
” You what?…Oh my God ” Mrs qin mesmerised as she fell back on the sofa, holding her head in pain.
Amy rubbed her bvtt on the sofa as she adjusted foward to hold her mom’s hand.
” Mom, you need to believe me. He’s a changed person now. He has agreed to mend his past and we are both doing fine. We won’t let the past get inbetween us ever again.” She spoke as she bent her brows with worry.
” I’m deeply disappointed in you, Alicia. I’m also disappointed with myself because I never noticed it on time?. For Godsake!..How can you fall in love with someone who tried to kll you”
” Mom. why don’t you just sit and think about all the good things xan has done for me. Starting from the first day he offered me a job, to this very day that he brought us together again, you keep forgetting his good deeds.”
” Because his good deeds are not worth counting” she said and drew Amy up from the chair.
She pulled her to the window and opened up the curtains widely.
They stayed there looking at the sky and mrs qin voice turned calm as she spoke with her.
” It’s all your fault for falling in love with him, Alicia. You should have reasoned well.
You should have returned your senses back to those years you suffered pain and agony. When you were in the hospital battling for your life for complete six month.
I kept on wasting money just to make sure i see you come out alive. Your dad died in the process of working his a$s out. You underwent different head surgeries.
Where was he all this while?. Did he not know about all this too?. Do you think without us you would be alive to fall in love?”
Amy sighed as she lowered her gaze in heavy guilt. The more her mom talked to her about her past, the more she felt guilty.
Her heart managed to keep fghting back with the love she had for xan.
Mrs qin held her shoulder as she spoke to her
” Why would a girl ever wants to love a man who bvllied her and almost wanted to kll her?. We should be talking about how to revenge his ungrateful act instead of falling in love.”
Amy raised her fleek lashes to look at her mom
” But i love him. I love him and you know that’s final. You wouldn’t want me to be sad ridden and heartbroken for the rest of my life, would you?”
” Alicia. i know you love him and i know he has totally helped us. I’m not against his good act. I forgive him as well. But…i don’t want this relationship of yours to continue cus i won’t let it last.”
” Mom why did you become like this!!” Amy probbed, fisting her arm.
” I became like this because i felt pain…pain to see my only child suffer in my hands. If i still felt as much pain as i felt that time, I could have just go in and $tab him right away. He doesn’t deserve to be with you or even stay under your roof. He is eviI.” Mrs qin spat and turned around.
She was about to step forward when she suddenly halted. It was because she met xan standing at the post of his room, watching them with a complete blank face.
She walked towards him and folded her arm, staring at him like he had become a dirty trash.
” I hope you heard me well, mr xan. You can’t have my daughter, very impossible. I’d rather go find someone much better than you than to make my daughter’s life miserable again.” She said and walked out of him.
As soon as she was gone, Xan finally left his stiff spot and trotted towards Amy.
He leaned his arm on the window facade as he stared outside, while Amy stood upright staring at him.
He ran his fingers into his hair and laughed to himself tugging his hair tightly.
” One way or the other, she’s right. I’m very eviI. I never knew you passed through those mess in the time of my absence and i never cared to ask.” He said.
He stood up and quickly gr.abbed her head, hugging her tight to his chest.
Amy sobbed in his chest, releasing all the tears she was afraid to pull down in her mother’s presence.
He raised her cheeks and cleared the tears with his thumb.
” Just know this, that no matter how many people try to seperate us, we will never ever fall apart. Instead, our love will grow stronger and we will learn to appreciate eachother’s weakness and strength. Right?”
” Right!” She nodded her head and raised her chin to stare up at him.
” No one can love the way we love that’s why our love is unique .” She said, rubbing his cheeks.
Mrs qin began to step down the stairs and they quickly left hold of eachother, distancing themselves.
” Alicia. Are you still awake?. What are you still doing with him?”
” I..i..was about to…go to bed now” she quickly picked an excuse, fiddling with her thumb.
” Will you just go to bed and leave him alone!” she yelled, squinting her eyes angrily.
She turned to face him and she looked up at him with a big but gloomy smile.
” Good night.” She said, holding his chest and leaning up to kss his forehead.
” Yeah. Good night.” he replied as he watched her run away.
Mrs qin mouth dropped when she saw them exchanged forehead ksses.
Wasn’t she the one who just told them to stop being with eachother?. Didn’t she just warn that little stubborn head a moment ago?
Amy decisively walked past her mom without giving her a single glance.
As soon as Amy was up, She stepped down the stairs towards xan.
” As far as i stay in this house, i don’t want to see you ever close to my daughter again.” She said and brought out a piece of dollar and staped it on his chest.
” This is for the ride, bringing me from my home to meet my daughter. I don’t think i owe you anything again. Tomorrow, leave and don’t ever think of coming back or else you get arrested, no joking!.” She sneered and turned around to go.
Xan immediately stopped her arm, gripping it fiercely.
” So you stopped me from seeing your daughter huh?. You’ve stopped me from going close to her or coming to this house. Why don’t you just stop me from existing as well, mn?” he asked as his eyes turned sober.
” Are you saying i can’t do that too?” She asked, folding up her mom.
Xan left hold of her hands as an hiss escaped his lips.
” I will love your daughter no matter what you do. You hear me?. So just get ready to accept me as a son inlaw, like it or not!” He yelled and walked away to his room, slamming the door.
Mrs qin folded her hands as she laughed inwardly.
” This is hilarious.” She said, and looked over to the direction of his room.
